I'm trying to access ArcGIS Server Manager via Chrome, and it's letting me log in, but gets hung up with a "please wait..." loading bar. I was using Chrome to access Server Manager yesterday with no problem, and I've been able to log into Manager today with Firefox/IE without any issues. I tried clearing browser history/cache, but no luck. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this with Chrome, or knows of another setting/option I should look at in this browser. Thanks!

I've been working on a webmap for my organization currently under a trial subscription. Since Wednesday, July 3rd I've been experiencing an unresponsive script error pop-up when doing anything with the webmap (opening, zooming, editing, etc.) I'm working on a firefox browser, and the map size is only 344 KB, which I don't believe should be causing any issues. What else should I check to see if it's causing problems? Would anything that was rolled out in the latest update be causing this? This is the message that shows in the pop-up: "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: https://d3w50ib5d2uy0g.cloudfront.net/cdn/2825/js/esri/arcgisonline.js:15" Any insight to this issue would be much appreciated!

I'm an extreme beginner with ArcServer and have been trying to setup an ArcServer test environment for a small company network (less than 5 GIS users) and I'm running into some problems. I've installed ArcServer 10.1 on Windows Server 2008. When I did the initial install, I was able to access the Server Manager [http://localhost:6080/arcgis/manager] while logged into the server it was installed on. However, I could not connect to the server from my desktop location [ArcCatalog -> Add ArcGIS Server -> Administer GIS Server -> http://SERVER-1:6080/arcgis] using the ArcGIS server account user name/password. A search on that error (Proxy server got bad address) through the help documents suggested that the firewall on the server was blocking access. I created a rule in the Firewall to open port 6080, and now I cannot access the Server Manager. I get an error in IE that says "localhost is not setup to establish a connection on port 6080". The rule I setup in the firewall seemed fairly open (granting access to all accounts, etc) so I'm not sure why localhost would not work with it. If this is something obvious to a more seasoned ArcServer / IT professional, I'd appreciate any insights! Also, if there are any resources out there you'd recommend to a newbie to the server world, please share. : ) Thanks!

Just wanted to give an update - I was able to get the script to run! Turned out, the problem had to deal with the quotations in the Action settings. The argument (script.py) did require quotations, but the program/script (python.exe) and the start in folder did not. Thanks again for the help! -jenna

Thanks for the suggestion Michael. I'm not familiar with creating Environmental Variables - but I do call out the full file path names in scheduler. Would creating the environmental variable make a difference if the file paths are listed in scheduler? My coworker tried running it as a batch program and is getting the same issue where scheduler says it's running, but the script doesn't actually run.

Thanks so much for the link to the thread and the suggestions! I made sure that the highest privileges was checked, and the path to the python script is in the "Start In" box. I also tried calling the python.exe as the program with the actual script as the argument, but with no luck.

I have a python script I am trying to schedule on a server that's operating on Windows Server 2008. I'm able to get the script to run manually from that server, but when I create a task to start it, there are no results. On the task scheduler window, the task shows that it's running, but there are no outputs or any other indication that it's actually running. Since the script runs fine when I manually start it, I'm assuming that the problem is within a setting on Task Scheduler or the server itself. I'm a novice working with scripts and task scheduler, so there might be something I'm overlooking.. Any insight to this problem is appreciated!

I have been using the intersect tool between two fairly large shapefiles (one has about 30k records, the other is the census blkgrp.shp from ESRI Data&Maps, so about 211k records) within a python script for the past year or so without any issues. Recently (within the past week) it has not been completing the intersect - there hasn't been an error returned, but the tool just gets hung up. I just tried to complete the intersect between these two shapefiles manually within ArcMap, and I noticed in the results window that the most recent message is "Processing Tiles", but the Percentage at the bottom of the screen is stuck at 0%. Neither of the shapefiles seem to be corrupt. I'm using ArcGIS 10 (ArcEditor license level) with Service Pack 4 and the most recent patch installed. I'm at a loss since I've been using this data/tool for awhile with no problems, and I'm not sure what's causing the tool to fail. Any insight/suggestions on what to try is appreciated! Thanks : )
