The coordinates are (for example) -97 longitude, 26 latitude (they are from Texas). I think this points to my misunderstanding of Lat Long coordinates in general. I normally work in projected coordinate systems and only recently started doing a lot with lat long values.

Using that as the SRID to create a geometry field, when I add the table to arcmap, it places the points in meters and not decimal degrees like I would expect. Perhaps I'm not understanding things. If I'm given lat long values are the values specific to the web Mercator auxiliary sphere projection or should they be imported as geographic? I'm having a hell of a time trying to line things up with my other data that's already in Geographic wgs84 SRID 4326.

Hi, I've received some ESRI biz data in CSV format and I'm trying to create a SQL Server spatial layer with it before I query it down to more manageable datasets. The CSV file contains lat long coordinates that are in WGS 84 Web Mercator Auxilary Sphere. I want to import the data into sql and create a geometry field with the coordinates but can't seem to find any reference to the SRID I would use to convert the lat long to geometry. I eventually want the data to land in SRID 4326 . Do I even need to reproject it? What SRID should I use to bring it into SQL Server geometry? thanks in advance Jamie

One thing before I close this out. Is it possible to register the layer with the geodatabase and register as versioned using a tool in ArcGIS pro? Maybe in a python script or ArcToolBox?

The user has the ability to add/modify/delete the data. I registered the layer with the geodatabase but hadn't registered as versioned so it looks like doing that made it not only editable in ArcGIS Pro but also allows me to undo edits.

Sorry "I didn't publish a feature service from our enterprise geodatabase" I created a connection in Pro, added a feature class to the map but it doesn't appear to be editable.

I'm trying to come up with editing strategies for my users who only have access to ArcGIS Pro. We have a single desktop license and my boss doesn't want to have to rely on me being the sole editor. I'd like to set up something that allows others to edit using the Pro software. I looked into publishing the layer as a feature service and editing that but I don't get the ability to undo changes made during the editing session (all changes are final and one mistake means reloading). I published a feature service from our enterprise geodatabase but it doesn't seem to be editable. Bringing a shapefile imported from the enterprise layer, editing, and pushing it back has many drawbacks (truncation of field names etc.) Is this possible without adding seats of desktop (we aren't getting any more) Thanks in Advance. Jamie

Found again a scale trap in the right clicking of the contents entry for the layer and fixed it so never mind... Sorry

Hi all, I'm messing around with ArcGIS Pro and using it to set up edit sessions with my feature services in our enterprise account of ArcGIS online. I've removed all scale trapping from the layer and service in ArcGIS online and made sure that the layer displays at all zoom levels in ArcGIS Pro. (at least all places I'm aware of) When I zoom in below 1:18,055 my service disappears. Is there a hidden scale trap that I'm not aware of? Could it be video card related? Anything else? Thanks in advance Jamie

That worked. Quick follow up. Can I undo edits (damage) I've done to feature services in ArcGIS Pro 1.3?

Hi all, Starting to fool around with ArcGIS Pro (version 1.3) and trying my hand at editing. I've created a feature service in our enterprise ArcGIS online portal and enabled editing. I set up the snapping environment (on and vertex snapping). I'm trying to fix overlaps and notice that snapping only works on vertices of the polygon that you are editing. It doesn't recognize the adjacent polygon's vertices for snapping purposes. Is this an known issue with feature service editing? If so it pretty much makes the editing of feature services not possible in Pro. I tried pulling into the project the shapefile the feature service is based on and the snapping worked as expected. Not so for the feature service. I'm trying to give ArcGIS Pro users the ability to effectively edit the services I create. This doesn't appear to be possible in version 1.3 unless I'm missing something. Thanks in advance, Jamie

I'm interested in python but there's also so many APIs I wonder which gets me started in the right direction. I know App Builder is available and some of the built in customization with filters etc. but I need more control. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello all, I've got an ArcGIS Server address locator that delivers coordinates in Mass Stateplane but when I use it in a geocoding workflow (Sharepoint 2010) the results are written in geographic. Is this a "feature" of ArcGIS Mapping for Sharepoint or is there a way to get at the original coordinates? I'm looking to write the geocoded list out to a SQL table and need to calculate a geometry field with stateplane coordinate for other layer comparison. If accessing the actual returned values isn't possible I'm interested in something I could write into a stored procedure that would take the lat long info and convert to stateplane. Is there a script out there that I could use in SQL?
