I have a groupelement that I need to re-set the location of on a layout. If I SetY(), this works, but if I SetX() after that, that will not. If I SetX() first, SetY() does not work. I cannot change the anchorpoint because it was already set and re-setting this would Is this a bug in the SDK (2.8), or am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply @LeLuong. That is very interesting that it is possible through the SDK but on the UI. Also that it allows that in the first place. I can only hope that these types of features that are not available in the UI will be available in the SDK in the future.

Has there been any improvements to this poor performance since then? I haven't seen any new replies since 2020. ArcObjects read and wrote each vertex to a database at least 5x the speed. I cannot run these operations any faster even with async/await capabilities, unfortunately. Thanks.

Oh, come on Wolf. You have the power to tell them what to do, right? (I kid) I can't cancel, so it would be very helpful to me to have a cancelable dialog. But it is what it is. I can always move the active line while debugging to an "exit sub" or "return" line (I am stuck in VB.NET). Cheers.

I had never considered that there was a CIMLeader / CIMLeaderPoint in the graphic. In my case, I did not want a leader. I wanted to be sure there was no leader. So, I am curious, what does it look like if you added more than one CIMLeaderPoint to the array? I don't think I have seen any label that looked like that in ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap before. Just creating it on a layout, I can only see one place for a leader point. Then there is also the option to "Remove Leader." There is never any option to add another vertex to an array of leader points. I am very curious what that would look like.

I believe it is LeaderOffset, and your LeaderTolerance should be a lower number than the leader offset. Have you changed the LeaderTolerance proeprty? Here is an example balloonCallout.Margin = New CIMTextMargin With {.Left = 2.5, .Right = 2.5, .Bottom = 2, .Top = 2}
balloonCallout.LeaderOffset = 10
balloonCallout.LeaderTolerance = 0

Do you have an offset? It will not make the callout arrow unless there is an offset.

I am not sure about a route feature class polygon. Did you mean polyline?

That would actually be a lot better, using the anchor positions. I drop text at equal intervals a lot. If the the text size is too large, there is nothing that the will to change that. It was a user setting.

It is funny you mention that. I can do that now, to my surprise, if you are using the polygon text, it will not change the font size I made a small add-in to test that since I could already do it inside of a layout. I click a button to add the paragraph text, then a button to change the width. The height, font size, etc., stay the same size. Only difference is the bottom two points on the polygons need to stay at their original locations. In ArcObjects, you could use ITransform2D.Scale to do the trick. I am improvising.

Thank you Jeff, I can't believe I missed that before. I do want to modify the original polygon instead of reducing the font size. Same concept. Much appreciated.

I hate to post questions, but I am stumped here. The CIMParagraphTextGraphic should have a way to tell whether or not the word wrapping made text go outside of the boundaries of the shape somehow. Is there some object I am missing that can do this? In the layout, without using code, there it detects is there is not enough room, and shows this underneath it: [...]. Any thoughts on how I can detect that this happened? Thank you

Right, in the comment I mentioned that you could use the same concept for your purposes. It doesn't need to be a CIMLayout, could be CIMGraphic. Just modify it to fit your needs.
