ok, thanks for extending some helping hands here... 🙂 by the way, If it might help others who come along to this thread, I've come across with a certain methodology in estimating the streamflow: http://md.water.usgs.gov/posters/flowGIS/index.html... The problem is, there is no such runoff data in my specific area of interest,..whew! I only have the data I've mentioned in my previous post... I wonder how I can make use of my available data and still adopt the same methodology in that link above...Any thoughts? 🙂

Hi Joanne, If each of your lines has the value in the attribute table of an amount of rainfall, I suppose you could use "Topo to Raster" as if it were elevation data - http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Topo_to_Raster/009z0000006s000000/ This will interpolate between the lines and create a raster. Hope it works! Ben Hello Ben, Thanks so much...I'll check this out,.. Regards & be safe.

It would be horrendously easy to simply set the analysis extent to a larger size to extend to your desired boundary, but I would suggest that the results would be meaningless or misleading at best unless you know that such an interpolation would generate valid results beyond the bounds of the input data. Also, why have you picked IDW as the interpolator given the other options available to you. Perhaps there is a problem design issue that you could address before settling in on a means to fill in the gaps between stations. Hi! I'm Joanne & I'm a newbie in ArcGIS... I guess my problem is somewhat related to this post.... Specifically, I have a rainfall map (Isohyets) measured in mm (precipitation)... I wanted to know a particular value (precipitation) in points between these lines... how can I do this? Do I have to convert/interpolate these polylines so I could have a Rainfall raster instead? So that I would know the precipitation in any point based on cell values of the Rainfall raster? If so, how do I make a raster map out of my rainfall contours/isohyets? By the way, I have a DEM of 20-m resolution. Will this be of any help in converting/interpolating my rainfall map? Pls help. Thanks & best regards.

Hi! I'm a newbie in ArcGIS & I have the same problem... anybody out there ps help us,.... ESRI Forums MVP?? where are you guys? What datasets do I need to estimate volumetric flow (cubic meter per second) of streams/rivers? How do I do the processing? pls help. As of now, I have the following: 1. DEM (20-m res), 2. Rivers/streams network (polylines) 3. Soil data (polygon) -- only description of soil types, no runoff coefficient 4. Rainfall data (polylines) -- info on precipitation (mm) Pls help. Thanks.
