Sorry Shaun... Unfortunately, I never recieved a difinitive response form Esri except that you would have to have a non-versioned DB. I expect that they are expecting you to use the track changes option within the DB. I don't exactly know how that would work, but if you find out, please post. I'm definitely interested. ~~ Good Luck

In the ArcGIS 10.2 Help documentation (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//0154000006m1000000) it states the following about offline editing and versioning: "To use the sync capability, all the data in the feature service must be from an enterprise geodatabase. Also, you must prepare the data so it can be used offline and, if required, synchronized through the feature service when you have connectivity. How you prepare the data depends on whether the local copy of the data will be editable or read only and, if the local copy of the data will be read only, whether you use versioned data in your feature service. If clients will be editing data while offline and sychronizing their changes when they have connectivity, the feature service must contain nonversioned data." My questions are... What is the point of having an Enterprise GDB if you're not going to use versioned data for a multi-user editing environment? If you are going to SYNC the edited data on ArcGIS Online (Collector) to Non-versioned data, how are you supposed to track those changes when you Also have multiple in-house editors? Even if you don't use editing versions on your data, you still may use replication (one-way or two-way) for disconnected environments. And, if you do so, you would need to fully version your data. An organization that has disconnected desktop editors or multiple editors on multiple versions may still want to use something like the Collector for ArcGIS Online. If anyone from Esri could shed some light on the subject, I would greatly appreciated it. Thanks,

@jthyen: You may need to call Esri support if you don't see it. The service shows up on my end as 'World'. I also found this video that might help: " rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW-1utzu4nI Good Luck,

I don't know if anyone in this thread is still having issues but this is what I did and it worked just fine for me. I followed the below workflow for a client using a Windows 7 PC with ArcGIS 10 SP 5: 1. Go to http://support.esri.com/cn/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/40542 and follow the workflow to Disable Default Locators that connect to ArcGIS.com 2. Go to http://support.esri.com/fr/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/40802 and follow the workflow to Add the World Geocoding Service to ArcMap This worked just fine for me, but you should probably note that using this service for batch geocoding will require ArcGIS online credits in the near future if not already. But if you are just using it for locational purposes inside ArcMap, I think it would probably work just fine. Also, I would recommend, if you have good local data, to build your own locator. Good Luck,

I have a client that is also having this issue. I thought initially that it had something to do with locally built address locators (that used replicated data) so I re-built them from scratch. A dual-range, single house and a composite were re-built. He was at ArcGIS 10 service pack 3, so I also installed service pack 5 thinking that might have something to do with the issue. ...and the same message popped up again: After looking at the Depreciation Plan for ArcGIS 10.1 and ArcGIS 10.2 (http://downloads2.esri.com/support/TechArticles/W28703_DEPRECATION_PLAN_FOR_ARCGIS_10_1_and_10_2__Updated_for_10_2_1d_final.pdf), I found this on page 5: "Esri will end support for the legacy ArcGIS Online geocoding and routing services hosted on tasks.arcgisonline.com on December 31, 2013..." What it doesn't say is how to replace/update for those of you still using ArcGIS 10. I can't find anything on this online and it seems like it would be quite annoying for this the message to continue to pop-up. So far, it has come up during an edit session as well as when he closes ArcMap. If anyone has a solution, please share. Thanks,

Bill, Thanks for the reply. I just found out that the client is using a service for scanning within the Register of Deeds office. I had no idea before, but now I think this will work out by linking just like you mentioned. "Now you know, and knowing is half the battle" ~~ G.I. Joe Thanks,

I'm looking for a local goverment solution to house scanned deeds and plats. We are using ArcGIS for Server 10.1 SP1 and would like to link the scans on our parcel viewer web application. The two options available out the box are a hyperlink field and an attachment built inside SDE. I don't want to use attachments because of the potential database size increase and I'm pretty sure I don't want to use hyperlinks because of the potential for messing up the paths or naming convention of the files. I think I remember reading that ESRI was going about incorporating un-managed attachments but I can not verify nor have I seen anything else about it. This was before ArcGIS 10.1 was introduced. Does anyone know of a third-party document management solution that can be integrated with ArcGIS 10.1? I'm open to all suggestions, even ones that consider how you have accomplished this task using hyperlinks or attachments.

In the PollingPlace FC, I calculate the POLLINGID field as the VotingPrecinct FC's NAME field for which the Polling Place point resides. This is a 1-M relate so you can have more than one record with the same POLLINGID. You'll want to make sure the POLLINGID in the PollingPlace FC matches exactly with the VotingPrecinct FC's NAME field or the next step will not work. After you have calculated the PollingPlace FC you can load the records into the PrecinctPollingPlace table via ArcCatalog. Then in ArcMap, you can join this table with the VotingPrecinct FC via the matching join fields. Now you can calculate the PRECINCTID in the PrecinctPollingPlace table. Clear as mud? Good Luck!

Have you tried to roll back your install to only Service Pack 1. You can remove updates separately. Not everyone needs to install every patch. Although ESRI has said that the new background processing is working via 64-bit, that doesn't necassarilly make it useful. I've found it to still be clunky when operating with background processing. I agree with @mcollinsamec, disable background processing. If you do like it, you should open a support ticket like @jborgion said.

Once you generate the summary table, use the Model Only Tool "Get Field Value." You can use this to return the value of the Summary Statistics Max Value for the field. You could then use the value to do other querys or analysis. It should look something like this:

@Josh, thanks for your response. The client is a local water and sewer company with assets county wide. While creating their model, they noticed that the domains were the same for both asset owner vs asset manager. I guess it was hard to explain that even though they don't have assets that are managed by different owners now it doesn't mean they won't have any in the future. I think we are going to keep it in because they have 10 different possiblities for asset owner and I could see where an issue could come up in the future with maintaining an asset at their tie points of other asset owners.

In most cases that I've seen, the asset owner is the asset manager. Where if any, when dealing with Water and Waste water data models, would the asset owner be different than the asset manager? If a utility company does not have assets that are not managed by the owner, would there be a problem within the editing templates to remove the Asset Manager fields/domain?
