I have a large shape file and I need to open the attribute table, select all, export as a text file. My last file, and the largest one, crashes arcmap whenever I try to select all attributes. There are over 13 million records, so maybe that's why, not sure. I just need to import/export all these records into M. Access. Any suggestions on other routes of action???? Jason

Thank you both. This was a huge time saver. Really wish I was more comfortable with scripting tools. The time I could have saved.

So here is my last and final question and unfortunately my largest hurdle. I have a tonne of shapefiles (4249 to be exact). I have never used a model builder or scripted anything. I need to somehow batch add a field (named RTENO) and assign the shapefile name to that field. The only other option I have is to batch calculate field with file name one at a time over 4000 times. If anyone knows of anything I could do to make this possible it would be a life saver.

Hi all I'm fairly new to this and was hoping I could get some help. I have multiple shape files (607) that I need to clip with unique clip features (607 buffers). I can add all shape files to the input feature field. I can set the environments to dump the outputs to desired locations. When I try to add all 607 unique clip features to the clip feature field, it shifts the entire input field down so that input and clip features don't line up. I need to perform this operation with 6 different sized buffers and it would be real swell if I didn't have to manually drag and drop clip features one at a time over 3600 times. Best, Jason
