Hi guys, I am having an issue creating layers and groups of layers in ArcGIS Pro based on the specific fields (select_multiple) from a Survey123 form. What I have done so far was to create and duplicate layers based on the survey feature layer and restrict the information of each layer to show only specific data using "Definitions Queries". It works perfectly with select_one questions but with select_multiple I am having some issues. My example is very simple. I have different types of buildings and each building uses many types of constructions materials. In the select_multiple question, I have the options: e.g. Brick; Stone; Timber, etc. In the cases in which the buildings have only one material, the query "equal to" works perfectly. But in the cases in which the building has many materials, the query "equal to" does not work since it needs all the variables possible. With three materials is simples but you have a list of 20 materials, the options for answers are not possible to address with a simple query (al least for me). I tried the query "contains the text" but it does not also work well when you have multiple materials selected for one building. For example, I am willing to be able to show in the map all the Buildings that are Residential, and, if helpful, to show only the ones with timber and brick. But If needed, only the ones with bricks (without excluding any building that contains bricks) The goal is to have this ability to select the data to show on the map in a simple way for the user. I would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance for your patience and help. Cheers, Jorge

Hi guys, I am still a rookie on GIS, particularly on ArcGIS Pro, and I have been working with Survey123 for my research work. Now, I would like to give the next step and create a web app based on the data collected so far and open the survey and the App for public submissions and analysis. I have already created some simple versions using the online tools. But, it is only possible to create a simple tool with many filters/layers and sub-layers that allow users to select only the information relevant for their analysis quickly using ArcGIS Pro. I have already watched many videos on youtube, but I still have not understood which can be the best approach for my purpose. What I have done so far was to create and duplicate layers based on the survey feature layer and restrict the information of each layer to show only specific data using "Definitions Queries". My doubt is if this approach is the most correct and if is there another way of doing this more easily and effectively? Regarding the simple example in the scheme attached, what I am trying to reach is to: - Being able to show in the map all the Buildings that are Residential, and, if helpful, to show only the ones with two floors and built with Bricks. Or select religious buildings but select/filter them by religion, showing only churches or mosques on the map, etc. The goal is to have this ability to select the data to show on the map in a simple way for the user. I would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance for your patience and help. Cheers, Jorge

Thank you Doug for your reply. I did that but in the end, it does offer many editing possibilities. Thus, I first linked the survey to ArcMap to create all the layers as I would like to be shown in the map/WebApp. When ready, I am using ArcMap to publish the feature service. However, this way I am not getting the map points to update automatically. Any advice or suggestion to solve this issue? Thank you. Jorge

Hi. I am using a Survey123 form and ArcMap to create and publish a map service to be shared and visualized in a WebApp. The goal is to have the form open to submissions and that the points can be automatically visualized in the map after each submission. I am wondering if it is possible to have the outputs of the Survey123 form updated automatically and displayed on the map (and in WebApp) using ArcMap? I do not know if my doubt is evident. Is it possible to convert in ArcMap the results of the survey so that the outputs can be updated automatically with new submissions? And then shared in the WebApp? Any advice would be appreciated! Best regards, Jorge

Thank you for these helpful tips. These tips work perfectly in Select_One questions but I am having issues in Select_Multiple ones. If I choose only the "other", it automatically appears the text box to describe the other item. If I choose multiple options (including other), the text box disappears and I have no option to insert the description of the item. Have you got any solution for this type of questions? Thank you for attention.
