My comment so far is that the map zooms in way too far when you click on an existing point on the map. This should be controllable as to whether it happens or to what scale the map can change. It makes users zoom out a lot or hit the home button to go back to browsing existing information. Town of Temple Complete Street Project (arcgis.com)

I am excited this is being updated! I noticed that I am no longer able to create a reporter app using the old version. Is that correct/expected?

Oops. I was using the wrong terminology. I was using Remap in my workflow. The temporary outputs from this tool is what I could right click to add to the raster dataset and what moved after running the build footprints tool. Thank you for the suggestion. Can you tell me how I can reclass just one image in the raster mosaic dataset? In the tool I used, you cannot select a specific image, just the whole mosaic. I also have another update. I used reclass on one file, output it to a file geodatabase, added it to the mosaic, then ran build footprints. In this workflow the file stayed at the correct coordinates. So that's good. On the downside, the footprint does not show in the expected shape of the sheet. It seems stuck on minimum bounding box for some reason.

Thanks for these comments. The images are being georeferenced interactively using control points without creating a new image file (i.e. the workflow is to use 3 or 4 control points per image, click save and then close the toolbar). The main reason I want to have footprints that look like the page is cartographic - it shows the reader the area the scanned map covers. I may also use it to hold a PDF that can be downloaded. Work in progress: https://arcg.is/1nH89i. I think with one exception (highlighted), all of the pages in the red area needed to be reclassed and when I ran footprints they went all across the globe. Images on the left are same format/projection but did not need to be reclassed and the footprints tool worked as expected. I'm looking forward to checking out the workflow link!

I am working on a project to georeference scanned maps and store them in a mosaic dataset prior to publishing online. When the pages first come in, the footprints do not match the size and orientation of the page. So, I used "Build Footprints" and the Geometry Computation Method to make them line up. Some of the scanned maps come in with the content of the map having a value of "1" whereas others come in with a value of "2". For the latter, I used Remap to change the values. It makes a temporary layer that you can right click on it and export to the mosaic dataset. This works as expected (second image). The problem happens when I run "Build Footprints" after these have been added. After running, the images as well as the boundary/footprint for the individual rasters go somewhere else in the world (see highlighted row in third image compared to others). I don't understand why it is happening and how to get around it. Any ideas? Mosaic dataset/Map: WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere) PNG files: NAD 1983 UTM Zone 19N

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I previously published from ArcGIS Pro and I think I had boundary and footprint visibility off. When I republished, I probably forgot to do this. I will confirm the next time I update the tiled layer. I wasn't aware of the additional hosting product. Thanks for mentioning it.

Hi All, I'm trying to georeference historical maps in our area to overlay with other data. I opted to use a mosaic dataset because I thought it would help with editing and building it out over time. When publishing this as a tile layer, it automatically turns on the "Boundary" and "Footprints" items, which I would like to hide. They show as green and red in the image below. Any idea how I can turn these off? Or, is there a different approach I could take? Thanks for the help! When you say flip the bearings by 180, can this be done in this case by Changing S 17-46-37 W to N 17-46-37 E? Is there another quick way to do this in the traverse window? Am I right that the notation on the plan "R" is radius and "C LEN" is chord length? I wasn't able to find a document that explained these abbreviations.

I'm confused about how to enter in a traverse in ArcGIS Pro. I'm used to keying in bearings and distances going around a parcel (but not curves). My experience is that plans mailing go around it in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise). In the example below, it is indicated as mainly clockwise but there is a curve thrown in that goes the other way. In the example below, you see NE bearings but then there is a SW for the curve. When I key it in, the curve goes the wrong way (see below). Here it is as entered. The curve goes the wrong direction. If I tell it to go NE, the curve doesn't match the plan. Can someone correct my understanding of how to do this? Or do you see what is going wrong?

I've got a basic crowdsource reporter published where users can mark issues and are required to set a category for the type of issue in a drop-down list (as pictured below). There is another aspect to the app I am having trouble with. Users can also like and comment on reported issues. However, I cannot uncheck the "allow null values" option in the related table (even with a local FGDB). This allows empty comments to be added which is not ideal. Is this a limitation of related tables? Do I need to adjust this setting before making the relationship?

Hi David, This isn't a setting in the form, it's in the hosted feature layer used by the form. You should be able to find it in your ArcGIS Online content in a folder "Survey-..." This will look familiar if you are used to working with hosted feature layers.

The first image above is from a preset offline area. I learned that when I add an offline area manually in the device set to "Rooms" I seem to get that level of detail from the valuation map tiled layer which is now clear. The problem is that there would need to be dozens of manual maps for the same area...
