Hello - I am new to the offsite stuff so I really could use some tips. I have built my client a gis and I have files such as photos and documents on my google sites account in its storage for a temporary location. The system works great. However I want to find a good reliable cloud service to dock my files on so the gis can access them. One thats made for this type of thing. What confuses me is what cloud providers are best for interaction with files. Such as clicking a link and the file opens. Not like protected storage that is mainly for backup and you cant get the file to access without going through some de-protection process. Sorry if this is rambling, like I said Im new to the process.

Thanks Mike, I did not share the web map, you were correct. Please help me grasp this subscription. I have no problem paying the fee, but Im trying to make sure I need to. I have seats of Arcgis 10.1. Everything I do is made there. If I import the shape files into Arcgis Online so that my clients can look at the data on their arcgis iphone and android apps, then I need to pay the subscription fee?? If I buy the subscription (if needed), what is the 5 users? Is that 5 users on arcgis online on a desktop? What if 10 people are looking at the apps? The iphone and android apps are all I care about, please point me in the right direction. Thanks a million.....

Oh yea, forgot one...... If I do get the web applications working for others, is that url permanent? Can I set my clients up with it and it will never change? Or is it temporary?

Okay, here are my many questions..... 1. I have several seats of Arcgis 10.1. I am working with Arcgis online and think its awesome. I have seen nothing that indicates I have to pay a fee, but I did see something about a 30 day trial. Is the fee copy just for more space, or do I have to pay a fee somewhere? 2. I am building a map for a client that will have about 20 people using it. Mainly accessing it by the iphone and droid apps. Any fees in my future for this?? What is the best way to serve it out? I am thinking.....have everyone create a arcgis online account and access the map by groups. 3. I wrote out my map as a web applications and it looks great. I sent a group invite to another co-worker and she accepted and can now see the web app. However when she clicks it, it says "Unable to create map; " You are currently signed in as........ You do not have access to this resource http:..........." What did I do wrong and why isnt this working? It works on mine. Thanks for any help I can get.

I dont understand why everthing has to be so different!! I have arc 10.0 and my client wants a simple gis system. So Im setting him up with arcgis explorer. Everything should display for him fine right.....wrong!!!!!! My client is a city with a sewer system. When working with sewer you need to know which way it is going. NO WAY TO DO FLOW ARROWS IN EXPLORER. Does anyone have any ideas?? I would just set my client up with tatukgis viewer that works much better, but unfortunatly that program is like and act of congress to make hotlink work from my database. Please someone throw me a bone. Can you program flow arrows in with some script or something????

I was wondering if it is possible to serve out a map viewer of my GIS work for free?? I know that there is ArcGIS server, but what I am wondering is can you create a free viewer somehow? What is the Flex and Silverlight API's? How would one put or publish their GIS data into one of these viewers? I want to be able to create a viewer for one of our clients, but I dont want to spend 10G right now. Right now we are just setting up that client with ArcGIS explorer and putting the data on his machine locally. Thanks for any help........I really dont have a clue in this area of GIS.
