update: esri has confirmed that this issue exists in both 10.4.1 and 10.6 and is the bug below. The error message in the Server log being generated is the only issue and does not appear to actually affect the data being updated via collector BUG-000098817 When a new feature is added to an ArcGIS for Server feature service through Collector for ArcGIS, the severe error message, "Unable to process request. For input string:" appears in the ArcGIS Server logs if global IDs are added to the source dataset prior to enabling attachments.

Submitting an update to a related table via an ArcGIS collector feature service throws the ArcGIS server Log error: WARNING May 8, 2018, 3:19:29 PM Unable to process request. For input string: "18446744073709551606" Rest While the error appears in the ArcGIS server log, it does not appear to have any direct impact on the submitting of the update to the database or adding attachments as everything appears to be working fine. Can anyone tell me why this error is occurring or how to fix it? As we add more mobile editors in the field, I do not want my logs to become flooded with this error... I have been able to produce this issue in 2 environments - ArcGIS Collector version is 18.0.1 using both: ArcGIS Portal 10.4.1 not federated with ArcGIS Server - The feature service url is added to the web map ArcGIS Portal 10.6 with a hosting server - the feature service is published to the hosting server and added to the web map. When the ArcGIS server log settings are set to debug, it appears to indicate that it has something to do with the feature service attachment handler but this error in fact occurs whether I am adding an attachment or not. java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "18446744073709551606" at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(NumberFormatException.java:65) at java.lang.Long.parseLong(Long.java:592) at java.lang.Long.parseLong(Long.java:631) at com.esri.client.app.featureserver.FeatureServiceAttachmentsHandler.service(FeatureServiceAttachmentsHandler.java:50) at com.esri.rf.RServlet.service(RServlet.java:116) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:742) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:231) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:166) at org.apache.tomcat.websocket.server.WsFilter.doFilter(WsFilter.java:52) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:193) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:166) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:198) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:96) at org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:478) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:140) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:80) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:87) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:342) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.service(Http11Processor.java:799) at org.apache.coyote.AbstractProcessorLight.process(AbstractProcessorLight.java:66) at org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$ConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java:861) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.NioEndpoint$SocketProcessor.doRun(NioEndpoint.java:1455) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.SocketProcessorBase.run(SocketProcessorBase.java:49) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1149) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:624) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.TaskThread$WrappingRunnable.run(TaskThread.java:61) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748) Rest WARNING May 8, 2018, 3:19:29 PM Unable to process request. Hi Richard, We are experiencing somewhat similar issues. We are getting the exact same active x popup with GP tools and also experiencing much slower launch times for mxd documents. We installed the same windows update on the 1st of March before running into these problems. -Kris

Can anyone tell me how to get a hold of a vr360 promo code? I was hoping to use it in a demo but have not been able to get anyone to send me a code. I signed up through esri labs vr360 page as instructed and requested the code and also emailed the help email address listed on teh page to no avail. Has anyone been able to procure one a different way?

Hi Lindsay, Did you ever find a solution to this issue? ive run into the same thing when publighing a map service in 10.4.1. Labels and features display fine when in ArcMap but upon publishing with the features labelled by shape.Length() the layer vanishes entirely. Cheers, Krista

Hi Matthew, For me this turned out to be an issue with permissions within the relationship class. I had added my table to contain the tabular related data, and then added the relationship before assigning the proper database permissions to the related table. The relationship class was reflecting the original lack of permissions in the table from when it was created rather than the current permissions. Deleting and recreating my relationship class solved my problem.

Hi Bill, Was tech support able to find a solution for this? I have the same set up as you - am also using collector ios 10.4.2 with portal 10.4.1, not federated, versioned data, no data store and sql server db. I did test my initial set up in ArcGIS online and everything worked well. it is only now that i have switched to portal that i appear to be getting the connection error. Was your portal internal or public? - i have also tested this on an android device with the same error - 'unable to retrieve information, pls check connection. Any info you could provide would be much appreciated! Krista

Hi Mohamed, I had to speak to my IT department as they were blocking the domains through their security set up. Unfortunately it wasn't something i resolved myself so i don't have details.

Thanks Tony, That did it, it was a combo of the *arcgis.com and the *esri.com that needed to be whitelisted. Cheers, Krista
