Hello, When creating features within ArcGIS Pro, there is a green pop-up notification that appears at the top of the Create Features like this: I want to display this same notification when I create ArcGIS features in my application that is connected to ArcGIS Pro. Is it possible to do this using the API? What I have found so far is that we can create pop-up notifications using the Notifications class, but I would like to know if it is possible to use the existing green notification instead. Thank you in advance, Hannah

Hi Aashis, I am running into a similar situation as the original poster. As of ArcGIS Pro 3.1 SDK, is it still not possible to convert feature classes to shapefiles without using the Geoprocessing API? Thank you, Hannah

Thank you for your response. Since I only have the layer_name available, I did try these two methods: using (Table table = geodatabase.OpenDataset<Table>(layer_name)) {
FeatureClass feature_class = table as FeatureClass;
// attempt 1:
if (feature_class is AnnotationFeatureClass) {
// feature class is annotation feature class
}
// attempt 2:
AnnotationFeatureClass annoFtrClass = geodb.OpenDataset<AnnotationFeatureClass>(layer_name);
if (annoFtrClass != null) {
// is annotation feature class
} But neither way worked. The second method would throw this exception: Could not open the dataset 'annotation_layer' as type AnnotationFeatureClass. Please make sure the dataset type is correct.

Hello, For the ArcGIS Pro SDK, is there a way to determine if a feature class is an annotation feature class? I had attempted to do this with an annotation layer but it didn't work: var annotation_ftr_class = feature_class as AnnotationFeatureClass; // returns null I know that for the ArcObjects SDK, the IFeatureClass.FeatureType property can be used to get the esriFeatureType. And if it's an esriFTAnnotation, it is considered an annotation feature. Is there something equivalent that can be used for the ArcGIS Pro SDK? Thank you, Hannah

Hi Kirk, We decided to use the mapx file instead of the mxd file to retrieve the symbology info from our map. Your example solution did help me understand the JSON format that the data comes in, in which I found can be easily used to create CIM objects. Thank you for your help and response, Hannah

Thank you very much for your response, Kirk. The application I'm working on is using the ArcGIS Pro SDK. Would it still be possible to use ArcObjects in this case? If not, is there an equivalent way to do this just in the Pro SDK?

Hello, I wish to retrieve symbology information from a mxd file I created from ArcMap 10.6.2 using the ArcGIS Pro API. Since I want to do this when the Pro application is not running, I cannot access the classes or interfaces under the ArcGIS.Desktop namespace. Arc objects equivalent to what is needed would be the IMapDocument and IMapReader objects that allowed a map object to be created from the the mxd file path that has symbology information for every feature layer. Would it be possible to retrieve this kind of information from the mxd file, or would the mxd file need to be converted to another type of file to be useable outside of Pro? From what I've researched so far, the .mapx file seems to have the symbology info I'm looking for. If it's possible to convert mxd to mapx, how would the mapx file be parsed through to get and save its symbology? Thank you in advance, Hannah

Hello, I am trying to retrieve the clipping extent that I defined in the Map Properties > Clip Layers. I found there are a couple properties from CIMMap such as ClippingMode and LayersExcludedFromClipping that indicate that we are clipping layers. GetCustomFullExtent() from the MapView.Map and CIMMap classes only retrieve the custom extent defined in the Extent Map Properties, which may be different than the extent define in Clip Layers. Is there a class or method that can retrieve the actual clipping layer extent? Thank you in advance, Hannah

Hello, After I use explode tool on a multi-part feature that has non-zero z-values for each of its parts, the z values of the created features become zero. It seems that the values are not persisting from the original feature. The same issue also occurs when we check "Keep original feature after explode". I'm currently using SDK version 2.2. Is there a way to keep the z values from the original feature when we explode it into new features?

Hello, I'm trying to zoom in/out on a 3d scene given values coming in from another software which includes a 2d extent, a rotation value, and a scale value. But since the Camera's scale only applies to 2d views, I am not sure how I would use my given scale value to calculate how far we would have to zoom in or out in the 3d scene. Right now, I am able to still change the scale of the scene's MapView by using MapView.ZoomTo(), passing in the extent. But it doesn't yet match the given scale. Since the MapView's camera has a Z value, could it be possible to convert our given scale value to a z value so we can change our z value instead? Thank you in advance.
