Hi there. Given 24 depots and 500 orders, I'd like to find out how long it would take to visit all of them. The vehicle constraint I would like to have is that they can be on the road for a total of 8 hours (including travel and service time) and must return to the depot before heading out for the next set of visits. So the full route would be a series of 8 hour loops and the total time would be the sum of those loops. I was initially thinking about them having to take an hour break every 8 hours but it doesn't seem like I can specify that the break has to occur at the start location. Or that the range of the vehicle is a total of 8 hours before having to return to the start location to "recharge". Any thoughts on how to accomplish this? The way I'm currently going about this is manually creating multiple routes each with an 8 hour max. Thanks.

I figured this out. I deleted the VRP layer and started over. This time I first went to Analysis/Network Analysis/Network Data Source/Change network data source and set it to the local file. Then I created a new VRP and ran through the process. It looked like it ran but no routes were created. Then I noticed my Time Field Units was set to minutes when they were actually hours in my Routes table. Once I changed it to Hours it ran and produced routes. Fun stuff!

When I was using the Solve Vehicle Routing Problem geoprocessing tool I there is the required field of Network Dataset. I've been using a local file from Business Analyst. Using the new Network Analyst VRP tool, how do I point it to a local ND file? Also, I followed along with your 2020 Esri video mapped over everything I recalled as essential from the gp tool and have Travel Settings/Mode set to Driving Time. I ran the ribbon tool but got these errors. Where would I look to correct these issues? Thanks! ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of Drive Time | Truck Time | Walk Time. ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of Drive Time | Truck Time | Walk Time. Failed. ERROR 030024: Solve returned a failure. Failed to execute (Solve).
