I am trying to put 2 maps on the same Wiki page, one in each column of the page template. One map works fine, but the other keeps breaking (basemap not displaying, all data disappearing - just a white space). Is is possible to do this, or can SharePoint 2010 not handle 2 maps on the same page?

Is there a way to download map notes from a personal account, similar to how you can download data from a hosted feature service with an organization account? If not, will there be?

There is no way to update the features from a shapefile. Once a shapefile is loaded into a map, those features are stored in the map. Soon, we'll be releasing subscriptions for ArcGIS Online that will allow you to create services out of your data. You can update your data directly in the service and any web map that references the service will immediately reflect changes made to the data. Thus, all of your symbolization and popup configuration will be retained. This will be the recommended workflow moving forward. Thanks, Mike Mike, We have been overwriting a published feature service with a newer version of the feature service (either updated data, or a layer removed or added), and have noticed that any maps that were created with that feature service are not updated with the new information - the map has to be recreated. Shouldn't any maps or applications that were created with the feature service reflect the updated information in the feature service? Recreating all of the maps and applications isn't really a feasible workflow. Gwen

No, there are no plans to support these file types. Thanks, Mike Has "ideas.arcgis.com" been taken out of commission? I have been trying to get on there for over a week to submit this, and whenever I try to log in I get a page that says the site is under maintenance. Thanks!

I have noticed that when I add a Basemap or any ArcGIS Online data, it resets my page layout to some random corner of white page space, and I have to reset my display to "Zoom to page" to get back to my map. It took awhile to figure that out - for awhile I thought it was just blanking out my map. Been happening for the last week or two.

Is there a way to analyze the usage of credits by user? It would be useful for an organization to be able to split out the billing to different departments, clients, etc.

Does this functionality definitely exist now in 10.1 if you have an ArcGIS Online subscription? I can't find any details about it in the help docs, but it's definitely something that is necessary so that local copies of data can incorporate edits that others make to published feature service data. Gwen The next version of arcgis desktop (10.1) will have improved support for reading web maps. Any data stored in the map (like shapefiles and csvs) will become feature layers that later can be exported. I will point out, however, that community editing is only really supported for data that you've created a service from. Either you have ArcGIS Server and you publish a feature service yourself, or you have purchased a subscription to ArcGIS Online (coming next year) that will allow you to create a hosted service from your data. Data uploaded and stored in the web map can only be edited by the map owner. There is really no way for another person to make an edit and save it back to your map because they don't have write access to it. Now, they can make and edit and save it as their own map... Thanks, Mike

Has anybody written an update to this script that works in ArcGIS Desktop v. 10? I have a polygon layer that I want to symbolize by feature, but the main title is too long, and the "description" work around won't work for the main title of the layer when you symbolize by feature. You can try the "Multiline Legend Text" extension in ArcScripts - http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12550 It is an old script - but it works in ArcView 9.3.1 Jens
