Hi , I was using 10.1 server, expect the same for 10.2. Thanks for the suggestions, however I was attempting this with a Windows Mobile Application, and not using the Windows WPF framework, so that code wouldn't work here. This has to be available from the client side so that we don't force our users to log in to a service unless it is secured. Thus using the Admin tools is not an option. A lot of strange errors found poking around the services with different urls, however settled on trying to hit the service using the WebRequest.GetResponse() , and using the ResponseUri property to check for a redirect to a login service. thanks...glenn

How can programmatically determine if a specified service has been secured or not. Ideally the application should check to see if the service is secure or not before trying to get a token. As Admin I can secure a single service, so expect some way to test that without having to trying hitting the service and if I get an error try adding a token. thanks.glenn

The active or current SDK Help system on the resource center has been updated to support the new 10.1.1 version. The What's new documents have been moved to an archive folder in the help concepts, to allow you to see the changes without having to go back to the previous help version. If you wish to use the 3.0 / 3.1 version of the SDK Help It can be accessed with this link.. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/windows-mobile-sdk/3.1 The link to the document in the What's new archive is below. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/windows-mobile-sdk/concepts/index.html#/Class_changes_in_the_ArcGIS_SDK_for_Windows_Mobile_3/01sp0000006m000000/ We will get the links to the 3.1 SDK Help posted in more places shortly. Please let us know if you having problems accessing this or have addition needs. thanks.............glenn

Hey Folks, Not sure on the issue here, but see that you have found a mistake in our documentation for the MapLayer class, since the MapLayerLabelClass were removed at 10.0 release. This was done to simplify the implementation so that labels are now just part of the layer. As for the labels not displaying, I would suggest trying to zoomin on the features, to see if they will draw at different scales, which is using the ArcMap settings. At certain scales you may see the feature but not the symbol, since the labeling is a bit more complex. Not if you look at the SDK walkthrough sample the labels do not draw at the intial extent, but will show once you zoom in enough. If the labels do not appear at different scales perhaps you could attach a small screenshot, to illustrate the data.
