Hi Kim. I attached the script below in response to Royce's request too.

Hi Royce, my apologies for not replying sooner - I missed the email for this one. I've attached the script below. The MXD settings for symbology, etc. stay through to the APRX file fine. You will find that you need to change custom label expressions to use Arcade to get them to display properly in ArcGIS Online. I'm thinking that this is what you are experiencing with your web app query too possibly. Good luck to you.

Hi Royce, I'm a bit late to this and don't offer exact answers but I am also in your shoes with upgrading our services to use Pro runtime since upgrading our server to 10.9.1. I found the same thing - no updated working map file. Here's a list of what I've found/run into: I did get a handy script put together to convert all MXDs in a directory to APRXs. I'm willing to share with anyone interested. I have been upgrading services as changes have been requested by overwriting them with an APRX. I've been getting "SEVERE" errors in my logs and Esri Support has suggested that my overwriting/upgrade approach may cause that and they've also linked me to a few bugs. These bugs seem to only happen on my services that use the Shared Instance type. My solution for now is to make them all dedicated but this is not desired as Shared instance types are supposed to be a perk of the Pro Runtime services. Lastly, as you probably already figured out, once you go Pro you can't go back. There's no way to overwrite a Pro Runtime service with a MXD - you will get an error. The only way to do this is to delete the Pro service and recreate it with a MXD naming it the same. Good luck to you.

Oh-boy. I'm following this old thread too now. Just upgraded to 10.9.1 and am slowly migrating services to ArcGIS Pro runtime. Those that have been upgraded and set to "Shared instance pool" (isn't that supposed to be a perk of ArcGIS Pro runtime?) are throwing these "SEVERE" errors for us too. I'm looking to rid us of errors and get everything happy before upgrading to 11. I feel late to the game but then again I don't feel so alone in this error.

Hi Derek, welcome to the wonderful world of GIS! I'd also be glad to share my experiences. mnorthey@ocalafl.gov Initial thoughts...a great place to start is to meet with others that use GIS in your city and find out what they need. Some departments may already know what they need, others may not have the resources, so meeting with those directors and finding out what their visions are is also helpful. Find out what your County is doing with GIS. Reach out to your Esri rep, they can help get you connected if you don't know your neighbors and they may also know what your neighboring cities, counties are doing. You may be able to work with them rather than reinventing the wheel.

That was it, Julia! Thank you. The checkboxes in ArcGIS Pro are like a missing semi colon in code - tiny but powerful.

Hmm, okay, well I just filled that whitespace with a north arrow and some project text. A co-worker said they went old-school and made their own graphic box and centered the legend content over that rather than use the background of the legend. We have to get creative for now I guess.

I'm seeing the same behavior here and think I've seen and touched every setting known to man in the legend properties to no avail. Did this get anywhere since December? I'm on the current version, 3.1.2

I'm out here almost a year later looking for similar information. Our email addresses are changing from .org to .gov and our ArcGIS Online accounts are set up using SAML. One guy tested this out last week and it did the same thing to him, he got a new account set up in ArcGIS Online when he tried to log in as a viewer with none of his content. I don't see where I can change email addresses and really don't want to have to migrate all of the content and group ownerships for our 300-ish accounts. Is there a way around this? Something I can proactively put in place before they switch our primary email addresses?

We have learned that Collector is no longer supported. We need this now more than ever. Please give us an installer for all of our Windows Surface Pros. There's a Question on this topic (https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-field-maps-questions/when-is-field-mapping-going-to-be-made-available/td-p/221083) with many more concerned folks to add to this case.

Finding out that Collector is no longer supported made me search this up again. Seems like this post is a 'Question' rather than an 'Idea', so I'm not sure if it counts as the Ideas do. I found this Idea (https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-field-maps-ideas/field-maps-for-windows/idi-p/1035597/page/3#comments), which an Esri Field Maps team member has replied to (sounds like they've been testing it). I figured all on this post may be interested if you haven't already run across it.

I prefer Field Maps now over Collector but am stuck at implementing it because our organization has about 60% Windows Surface Pros to 20% Android Tablets and 20% Apple iPads. Those that have phones may be able to use their phone, but who wants to do field mapping on a phone when a larger screen is available? Please make and installer available for Windows.

Thank you! Five years later and this is still kicking our behinds. I've gone round and round this morning with a CSV file that was sent to me to update data that I already had in our database, no matter how I saved it I was getting ArcGIS to read wrong field names, data, etc. when I imported. Using the Excel to Table tool was the fix.

I just finished our first ever GIS Strategic Plan here at the City of Ocala in December. It seems like an overwhelming task, but I chose to keep it focused and condensed. A 100-pager might look impressive, but not very many will make it to the end before losing interest. I used a very simple Survey123 survey and had questions geared towards users and questions geared toward management to help me identify where they saw gaps, what their wishes were, etc. (See what I did there - I had them all using a GIS tool). I did my own SWOT and then added in the input received and logically grouped them into four main areas of focus and explained how projects in those areas relate back to our organization's priorities which support our Vision and Mission. My recommendation to any others that are dreading this task is to just get started. There's nothing wrong with starting small - you can add to it each year during the Revisit phase.

Hi All, I worked with Esri Support and got an enhancement (ENH-000147364) submitted for this. The support tech worded it as "Allow the Near Me widget in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder to automatically display the results for the layers that are turned off in the layers list." so I hope it doesn't immediately get shut down. What I want is the ability to check a box to allow it or not allow it. Here's hoping the enhancement request will get this idea some priority anyway.
