Ok, we found a link to the following topic, which I believe fixed things by increasing the SOC Heap Size. https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000011736

Thanks Scott, I tried it again and expanded the drop down to Verbose. The first error I see is the following: Instance of service 'System/DynamicMappingHost.MapServer' failed to process a request. Followed by this message: Instance of the service 'System/DynamicMappingHost.MapServer' crashed. The ArcSOC process for this service may not have enough memory allocated to it. Consider increasing the SOC heap size for this service by updating the "javaHeapSize" property, using the Edit Service operation in the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory. com.esri.arcgis.discovery.servicelib.impl.SharedSOThread.run(SharedSOThread.java:146) I followed some online instructions from ESRI to increase the "JavaHeapSize". I increased it to 2,048, but still get the same error message. This layer in question is a county layer for the US. What should I increase the "JavaHeapSize" to make this work, if that is the problem? Our server is 10.9.1 and we are current with our maintenance so our license should not have been an issue. The next log of interest states: SDE Connection pooling initialized. Service cache size: 50, SDE connection pool size: 100, SDE connection timeout(sec): 300 Can/should I modify something here? Next message shows some success: Instance of service 'System/DynamicMappingHost' has been created successfully. However it is followed by these two messages: Error performing query operation Error handling service request :Instance of the service 'System/DynamicMappingHost.MapServer' crashed. Tool [copy-dataset] execution in connector arcgis-relational-datastore failed. Recently we are having troubles copying data from the majority of our published services to our workbooks within Insights (Enterprise 10.9.1 Portal version/Insights 2021.3.1.4259). Historically this has worked fine, however we are now frequently not able to do so. This process appears to work for services on the Living Atlas, data from connected SQL DBs, and some simplified services, but for the majority of the time we get a notice stating that the Layer cannot be copied. I have increased the "javaHeapSize" settings to 2,048. I have also increased the "maxRecordCount" to exceed the number of counties in the US data. The current data I am testing on is a county layer for the US. When I look at the server logs I get the following response: Tool [copy-dataset] execution in connector arcgis-relational-datastore failed. Params: CopyParameters{params=Params{dataset='Country_e86eb13'}} ToolParameters{outDataset='Country_08b2704', connectorId='arcgis-relational-datastore'} com.esri.insights.api.http.RequestException: Error performing query operation Thanks for any assistance in advance. Thanks, seems like there should be some added information for that step or having the copy all data option automatically turn on when the Vector Tiles option is selected. I read through that a handful of times and it didn't sink in. I have to say I really miss the way the help docs were written up for the Flex viewer app. Wish they followed the same style. Thanks again.

Hello. I am trying to publish a vector tile service to our portal, however when I attempt to do so I only see the options for Feature and Map Image in the Layer Type section. The instructions I am trying to follow are the Define a map in ArcGIS Pro and publish as a vector tile layer instructions found at: Publish hosted vector tile layers—Portal for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Enterprise Am I missing a step? Any assistance would be great. Thanks! I am using data stored on an SQL server that has been resgistered with the ArcGIS Server, and am using ArcGIS Pro 2.4.1 and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1

Don't know if this matters, but just realized that the original layout was using data with a URL address instead of my local database. Once I set the data source to my local database and refreshed the layout map everything appears to be working normally. Granted when I had previously created a new layout via the layout template, that new one worked regardless of the source. Hopefully that makes sense.

So does that mean I get a sticker or a cookie or something like that? The strange thing is that after receiving the error, I did the logical thing and set (0) as my default value on the feature class in question. Still no luck. So I decided I would do a work around and make a handful of maps with static values for the different options in question and then have the script kick out the needed one based upon a count in Python. In doing so, I exported the layout as a template and brought it back it. The irony of it was that once I reconnected the layers to the feature classes in the database, the new layout work as intended with all the dynamic text boxes returning what they should. However, even after saving the project, closing out and reopening, the original layout still returns <NULL> values while the newer one built off of its template works like a charm....

Hello, I am trying to use a Dynamic Text box to return the sum value of a numeric field which has been filtered using a custom query via the Insert Table Statistic tool. My problem: If the query returns a feature, then the Dynamic Text returns the appropriate sum. However, if the query does not return a feature, the Dynamic Text returns a <NULL> value. In the same scenario, the Count tools returns a (0) value. I understand that there are no values returned to sum, however shouldn't there be an option for a default value such as (0)? There appears to be one when dealing with a string values, but not when dealing with numeric values via the sum statistic tool. Does anyone know how to work around this so I can get a default value of (0) returned if there are no features that match the query? I know ArcGIS Online has an option as well, seems logical that there would be an option in ArcGIS Pro.... Here is my Dynamic Text code in the Format Text properties box. Note, I tried using the emptyStr="0" option, but it did not work. Is there an equivalent as an emptyIntegar=(0)? <dyn type="table" property="sum" mapFrame="Map Frame" mapMemberUri="CIMPATH=59c80d386578416b83006b9fd9763d66.xml" sql="PROVINCE = 'FEZZAN'" field="INJURED" decimalPlaces="0" separator="false" emptyStr="0"/> <FNT style="Regular" size="20"> INJURED </FNT> Thanks,

I have a small Python script written in 2.7 that sends a subprocess call to run another small python script written in 3.6 to export some maps. While the scripts appear to work in a stand a lone environment, nothing seems to happen when I add the call script to my model. It indicates that it was run, but nothing seems to be ran on the back in. Here is my subprocess call script: import subprocess,os from subprocess import call outPT = "C:/GIS/gisData/data/vector/sigacts/sigactsSIMS/output/DailyUpdate/provTripolitania.png" exit_code = call('C://Program Files/ArcGIS/Pro/bin/Python/envs/arcgispro-py3/pythonw.exe C://GIS/gisData/toolsNscripts/exportMaps_PRO_Daily.py') if os.path.isfile(outPT): print "New file exists..." else: print "File not located..." Does anyone know why it will not run when in modelbuilder?

Thomas, For clarification, will this code example replace the pre-existing data or append new data to it? Also, what version of Python was your example written in? I am looking to append data (new event data) to a pre-existing database in ArcGIS Online, similar to what you can do manually. However, I want to automate the process. Thanks,

I am having the same issue, but unfortunately don't have a good answer. I spoke with USGS and it appears that they changed the format of the feed which may of resulted in the older widget not parsing the feed correctly. I attempted to adjust the xml file in numerous ways and then opted to stop using the GeoRSS and started pulling data used in the ESRI Public Information Earthquake map from the following source: LiveFeeds/USGS_Seismic_Data (MapServer) I picked through and added the layers I wanted and used the TOCGroup widget to separate the layers into themed groups, etc.
