Hello, I have what I think should be a very easy to solve problem but I am struggling. I currently have a shapefile with descriptions of land use cover as one of the columns in the Attribute table. My entire shapefile comes up as one color/shade and I want to make the colors different depending on the type of Land Cover. I have around 1500 features but only 14 different types of land use. Does anyone know how I could do this?

Hello, I am working with USGS NED 1/9 Arc Second Data and I am attemping a few different things that I am having trouble with. Is there anyway to figure out what resolution the data is because I want to use the flow accumulation command to show cells with a certain acreage flowing to it but I cannot figure out how to do this because I do not know the size of the cells. Also, is there anyway to create a point file from the NED data to see where the points were actually shot? And one last one, what is the difference between the ArcGrid format and the GridFloat format?

Hello, I am USING USGS 1/9th Arc Second Dem data to determine watersheds. I also want to create a stream network with only creating the streams once the flow accumulation passes the 50 acre threshold. I no I need to use the raster calculator to create a new raster with only cells over a certain number and that's based the threshold I want but I can't seem to get this to work properly. I have been assuming the DEM cell sizes are 30m by 30m. Is there a way to determine the actual sizes?

Hello, I am having problems with if statements in the Field calculator. This is my first time trying to code something in the field calculator. I am familiar with coding as I have used java and visual basic before. I created contours and I have a field that is set to 1 for all contours that are not an interval of 5 and set to 2 for all 5 foot contours. I have created another Field called Layer that I want to populate with a string for Minor and a different string for major contours. Can anyone help with this?

I usually go into the attributes table and create a column called "Layer" as a string and assign it the name you want the layer to be and then create a short integer column called "elevation" and set it equal to the column that has the contour elevations. When you then export to CAD it should preserve the elevation data and the layer data.

Hello, I created a shapefile of contours from a USGS DEM. I created a column in the attribute table called "layer" as a string so I can export to cad with the data on specific layers. I want all the 5 foot contours to be on the major contour layer and the rest to be on the minor contour layer. Does anyone have and help for how to do this?

Hello, I am preparing a GeoRAS model and I have three separate elevation data of varying accuracy and extents. I have a .dtm from a field survey of the river's channel, a .dtm from an aerial for the roadway over the stream and the embankments and I have a 1/9th Arc Second DEM from USGS for the floodplain. I am having trouble merging the files since they overlap. The USGS DEM is a much larger area and the other 2 areas are within the DEM area. I want the areas where I have field survey to take priority and be used where available then I want the aerial data to be used then where neither of the 2 are available I want the USGS DEM to be used. Is there anyway to combine these three with having the more accuarate files be used in the overlapping areas?
