When running the Feature Outline Mask GP tool on annotation layers in the latest version of ArcGIS Pro with the following option Calculation Coordinate System: British_National_Grid Margin: 0.2 mm Mask Kind: Exact Simplified Create mask for unplaced annotation: All annotation features Transfer Attributes: All attributes We are finding that the resultant polygon feature class is not quite as we had hoped. When writing to our enterprise geodatabase, despite running for 18 minutes the does not contain any data whatsoever and when writing to a file geodatabase we get geometery but none of the attributes of the original Annotation feature class (as requested by the settings). Has anyone had any similar issues or am I doing some wrong.

I am having some issues with the exporting to Production PDF of annotation that uses character spacing from ArcMap 10.7.1. We have a number of Annotation objects that use Character spacing to lay them out over large geographical features and have generated masking polygons using the Feature Outline Masks tool to help manage any conflicts with any highways or drainage the text my come across. As can be seen from Screenshot_1, the masking polygons and the annotation line up quite nicely in ArcMap. However, when we export the page to a Production PDF the Annotation is shifting and no longer lines up with the masking that is being created (see Screenshot_2). The issue appears to only affect annotation that has character spacing applied to it. I did find the following technical support document (Problem: Specified character spacing is not preserved when exporting to PDF with ArcMap 10.5.1 ) but this does not make any mention of 10.7.1. In addition to which we have hundreds of MXDs that need exporting to CMYK PDF so making none of the suggested solutions very suitable at this time.

Hi Dan, Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure the issue is specifically with the checking out of file, just that it might be manifesting its self around there. I am now working through a new series that were generated from a set polygons, opening each on up, adjusting the page frame as required then applying a stored view. While it may do a couple of files in a row it then seems to fall over applying the view on the third or fourth file. This mainly shown by an inability to redraw the GUI then crashing. For example the image below was what happened at my last attempt. As over the next few months we are hoping to build hundreds of documents by applying pre-built symbol views to different AOI it would be helpful if we could try and find out why this might be happening. Unfortunately I'm not sure that it is possible to script the applying of views to documents so we are rather stuck with this manual approach. cheers Geoff

Hi there, Seem to have hit against something a little odd this afternoon in that if I go to enable the Production Symbology toolbar ArcMap crashes. The issue initial started when I tried to overwrite a view that was already stored in the product library and ArcMap crashed following this I was unable to get ArcMap to launch with it continually crashing on startup. I therefore reset my application profile which allowed me to at least relaunch ArcMap. However, ever since then every time I try and enable the Production Symbology toolbar the ArcMap crashes. Given that we rely quite heavily upon map views to maintain consistency of styling being unable to launch the tool bar is a bit of a doozy. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Geoff

Hi there, We have a series of maps within production mapping (10.5.1) consisting of 20 products, each product is a 400mm x 400mm area of Ireland at 1:250,000. We recently had the need to make a change to the visual specification of the mapping so having made the required changes to the first mxd a map view was created to allow the specification to be consistently applied to the remaining products in the series. However, as I check out each of the products in turn to apply the map view I have encountered it appears that every third product encounters issues. When checking the file out it loses its layer structure, the data frame containing the AOI shrinks right down to the bottom left-hand corner and an empty 'Layer' data frame fills the rest of the document, in effect emulating a newly created product. If I then quit ArcMap, reopen, undo the check out of the product with issues and re-check out all is fine again. I can proceed to apply the view to this and one other product before the issue happens again. Are there any known issues with ArcMap not clearing memory so that by the time I check out the third file it has maxed out, or is there likely to be some other cause? Any assistance much appreciated. Geoff
