Thanks for the reply, Dan. I went through with the Repair, but alas, nope - can't even execute a simple Buffer. so frustrating. Is the only hope a re-install?

Hello, I was trying to run a Spatial Analyst function and now I cannot run any geoprocessing tools. The function was considered "Did not Run" - all I got was an hour glass in Results. Now I cannot run anything. Things I've tried: Restarting computer Restarting ArcGIS Turning off internet Using a different mxd. Running as administrator. I'm on Windows 7, version 10.2.2. I did update my computer 2 weeks ago (only rarely do it manually). Please help! I was trying hard to finish a project and now cannot do anything.

Hello everyone, I've never gotten this tool to work right. I am trying to get bathymetry point data to a contour using Topo to Raster. However, I want to constrain the possible interpolation to not include the coastline. I've clipped both the coastline layer and the point data to the same extent, and am using "Point Elevation" and "Coastline" as my choices for input data. No matter what I do (if I change the extent in the Environment, if I choose any larger or smaller or default extent in the tool), I cannot get the tool to run. It doesn't even have the courtesy to give me an error - it just hangs. The error message is then "10092: Invalid output extent". I *can* get the tool to run if I don't use the coastline file - but then I have contours running all over the land. I've had this problem for years. Anyone can help? Kim

Hello all, I have a complicated fGDBR database with an attribute table with about 20 attributes associated with 1200 or so different types of soil. For the model I'm running (on external software), I need a simple GRID file based on a single attribute. How do I export a raster image of just a single attribute (such as depth) into its own layer? When I use Copy Raster, it doesn't give me the choice of field. Do I need to just eliminate all the attributes except the one I'm interested in? I am using 10.0, and have tried all of the Raster options in Data Management, to no avail. Is there a way to do this? Perhaps I don't understand the Raster Attribute table well enough? Thanks in advance, Kim

Okay - answered my own question. I was getting errors on my merge from having text input fields. Arc really allows you to pick and choose and rename the fields that you want to combine. k

Hello all, I have two point feature shapefiles that have no overlapping points, but have a field I would like to merge. The data was created from 2 different types of GPS, and some points were added later by hand. For instance, imagine a county with 20 points in one file, and 30 points in another file, each of which has an associated iron value. Is there anyway to merge the two shapefiles - ideally, put the points and single important field from the second added onto the first? Thank you, k
