I top that also, More than 4 years later..... Tom, I'm sorry to have to say I am totally agree with Vladimir. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am fine if you want to make "Pro" the most sophisticated software in all know Galaxies but please for the sake of whatever keep the most basic things that we had in ArcMap in ArcGIS pro also. I don't have hours to spend on something that could literally takes seconds in ArcMap. I am in the situation as Michael was back in early 2019. Why on earth should your remove options that works perfectly for everyone? We have been ordered to migrate our project files form ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro. Let's say when I import an mxd file that contains many analytical tables on its layout into Pro, it works fine but now that I need to copy/paste new or updated tables form excel onto ArcGIS Pro I face several challenges. first of all formatting the pasted table (adding a border, adding a white background, reszing it) was so easy and fast in ArcMap and the pasted image of the table didn't point to any temp file or temp folder, the image is part of the document. now in Pro, adding border and background could take a bit of time and imagine we are dealing with many many tables, additionally it is pointing to a location and temp file. again additionally it happens that the table on the layout suddenly goes blank and whatever I do the content of the table won't show again, therefore I have to re-do the table once again!!!!!! I need the table get saved as part of the document also. Please someone from ESRI help.

No, I haven't got anything except the one right after your comment. Our problem is not relating to uploading data but showing some excel tables on our maps. I receive individual data tables in one excel sheet and need to insert them one by one onto may maps. the other problem is sometimes the cells in those tables gets updated (value, font color, background shade, ...). it was nice if when opening the mxd those changes would be reflected without reinserting the tables. thank you

there are few methods to add tables sitting in an excel sheet into ArcMap - in excel file select the area are intended to add and copy to clip board then in ArcMap paste it which comes in as an image you may want to re-size the inserted image to what you prefer. this method is fine but the downsize is there is no connection to the original excel sheet, meaning updating the original table in the excel file you must re-insert your table in ArcMap - in ArcMap you may insert excel table by going to menu/insert/object/Create New/Microsoft office Excel Worksheet then copy the table you want to bring into ArcMap into this new worksheet, close it and the table would appear in your ArcMap. This method is good insence of by updating the excel data the table in your ArcMap would be updated as well - in ArcMap you may insert excel table by going to menu/insert/object/Create New/Create From File using the link option find the excel file and insert the worksheet into your ArcMap in this method if you update the excel file the table in ArcMap would be updated as well, but there is one issue. when you insert the excel file using this method the whole sheet would be inserted. if you have many tables in that worksheet and you would like to insert them one by one using "Name Range" (specific rows and columns) you are not able to. I am looking for a way to insert tables into ArcMap from one excel worksheet not as whole but as specifed rows and columns as I needed Is there any add-on, VB or Python scripts for this?
