Hi@StefanArisona I am trying to display attributes but no popup appears when left-clicking an actor in a none-VR map; instead I get the axis gismo. On the Outliner the shape_root only shows a shape id and no other attributes. When the models are procedurally generated it lists many related to the CGA script. In either case I get no popup. At first I though it was the amount of attributes so I deleted many. Some objects have none. Of course I I click the ones I know have a few. I used simple colors for material, disabled instance at export, and All metadata. I generate no reports. CE 2022.1, UE4.27 I saw older videos with popups on building and even the use of a spreadsheet but I find no instructions. I am willing to try that too. Any advise or have I missed something? I also would like to display attributes in VR and/or in scenarios. It seems these are not yet supported, correct?

Oh, of course! I already get the input with GetParameterAsText(#) functions! Just add this line: arcpy.SetParameter(2, outFeatures).

I created a python script tool. The user runs the script after setting the inputs. I would like to bring the generated ouput in the code variable outFeatures (polygons) back into the model as the script's output. . . . outFeatures = os.path.join(shp_output_folder,"cont_hs.shp") . . . I get a blank output in the model as shown in pic, no matter what. Nothing I tried works: (1) setting the script's outFeatures output parameter Data Type as "Shapefile" or "feature class" or "file" or "string" and as a "Derived" Type, yield a blank output. (2) Within the python code, I tried adding the result object and using the result[0] object as an alternate output variable even though the string is the same as in outFeatures, anyway. . . . result = arcpy.DeleteField_management ( outFeatures,["ht_v_OBJEC", "ht_v_index"] ) output = result[0] ...using ArcGIS Pro 2.5, Any advise ?

Hi Cody, you are right, no ground controls. I am not flying the drones myself. The D2M online documentation led me to believe they were not really required, but I will bring it up with the folks that are flying the drones, and I will try your suggestion. Indeed the horizontal placement is close but the vertical one is way off. Thanks for the offer for further help!

Dear Taisha, Thank you for your response. The laserlines and viewsheds worked. New smaller scenes also worked. In looking for the GPU information, I run into Graphic settings and after setting the Graphic performance preference to High performance for cityengine 2019 exe, the scene freezing went away. It looks like the default #gpu performance settings were just not helping.

Hi Stefan, thank you for the reply. I am not saying that the link doesn't work. It simply downloads a fraction of the content. I get a note in the downloaded folder (after unzipping it) that not all files were downloaded due to size, and indeed many folders are missing. I tried downloading the missing folders and it only lets you download one folder at a time becoming a logistics matter just to ensure I am not missing anything.

Dear Stefan, (*) Any idea of when this process and documentation will be updated for Unreal 4.24.2 and VS2019? I am working on a small proof of concept and the potential ESRI client wants to be able to replicate the process. I would like to simply point to a link for the installation process using the above versions. In the meantime, U4.22 via Epic is no longer available so installing U4.23.1 and removing U4.24 so I can try using the zipped template provided here. I have additional questions to the (*) above. Downloading the zipped template did not work cause of its size. Can we use WeTransfer? Will the zipped python script work for adding scenarios in U4.23.1? I installed VS community 2017 which require going through blogs since now VS2019 is out. Given the results with new versions I skipped VS2019, yet will both zipped files (template and py) work with VS2019? in case client wants to use this v. instead. Regards, L.

I am thrilled to be using the new version. I had created the project in #CE 2015.2 and imported it into #CE 2019.1 It seems to works fine: create scenarios and edit shapes, etc. Yet, when I turn on shadow or ambient inclusion, the viewport/scene_freezes. First, I loaded the old project I into a new workspace (in D drive) and when launching the scene, I would get some errors (log view1). I then imported the project into the default workspace (in C drive) and the errors cleared (log view2). In either case, turning shadow or inclusion freezes the scene and I have to re-launch CE to resume with no shadows. Any advise on how to make shadows work will much appreciated. I am attaching pics of logs and settings, if of any help.

Hi, I fixed it. I just had to redo the path to the obj files from within the cga code. So it works with the test .cga. Sorry, dumb mistake. When I do use the non-test code. It will call other 3 .cga files. Do I also need to add the different annotations to the other .cga files as well? ex. @InPoint, @Distance , etc?? or is it enough to only add these annotations to the main .cga file? Thanks L.

I just had to drag the 2D layer into the 3D layer. I can now apply the cga rule but the geometry is missing. I get the white unkown assets cubes instead. The .rpk is not including the geometry which is called by the first line in the cga code. How to I force the geometry in the rpk? thanks

Hi Chait, The point data is a 2D and I mport it in the Map tab, I then covert it into 3D. the points do not appear in the 3D layer group, only in the 2D layers. The data/shp file has tree heigh attributes and z-terrain elevation. I link these attributes in CityEngine once I apply the .cga rul. I am sort of trying to do the ''same'' thing in ARc|GIS pro. What can/should I do to make the point-shape file go to the 3D layer in ArcGIS pro? thanks

Hello, I created a rule package which uses CityEninge's tree library. I added the additional annotations so it would work in ArcGIS pro. (little cga code below). I want to generate the trees in ArcGis Pro using the 'procedural layer' option, which I should be able to select from the symbology > Properties drop down, right? but this option does not appear. I only get marker, stroke and fill layer options. How I can assign the rule package to point shapes?. The point data I have is a the city's vegetation in shape file. Using arcgis pro 1.3 I tried converting converting the points to multipatch but then, the rpk does not apply since it is annotated with @InPoint. So, I would need an annotation for @Multipatch????? Using the preset option forces using a single color. the code below is a minimized version. In reality it calls other 2 little cga files, but for testing I took may sections out. I guessed the order of how the additional annotations should go, so I am not entirely sure.. pls advise if this is wrongly done, too. import Tree_Options: "rules/Esri Vegetation Library with LumentRT 3D Plants - Plant Loader.cga" #import Root_Options:"rules/aoi_roots.cga" #import LOD1_trees:"rules/aoi_lod1_tree.cga" # Inspector - Trees ############################## @Order(1) @Range("Cylinder","Lollypop","Fan","Analytical","Model") attr Representation = "Analytical" @Group("Trees",1) @Order(1) attr Genus = "Robinia" @Hidden attr Species = "Pseudoacacia" @Order(2) @Distance @Range(0,30) @Description("Change diam 0-30m") attr Canopy_Diameter = 8 @Hidden @Distance @Range(0,160) attr Radius = Canopy_Diameter/2 @Order(3) @Distance @Range(0,160) @Description("Change 0-160m. Hi Thomas, Thanks for taking the time to help me. The kml models are of underground objects and when I tried looking at them with Google E. they are not visible, but when placing the push pins they seem to be on the right area. I am not using WGS1984 in my cityE. model so that explains their shift. The shift is consistent. How how do I change their projection within the cityengine? My scene is in epsg: 28992. I can't easily find a 'reproject' option. Alternatively, how do I assign a CRS to the .dae models? There are about 50 objects. Or, what else do you think I can I try. Thanks, L.

Hello, When I import .dae models into a georeferenced cityengine scene they are placed at the origin. When importing kml models, they are offset. My scene is Geo-referenced already. How do I fix either, preferably the .dae imports? I tried converting a (static) model to shapes but then it dissapears entirely. I have the same models in kml but they seem to come in with an offset, so also in the wrong place. I am using CityEngine 2015.2. Also, how so you check the coordinate values of the model? Sorry, not too experience with all of the above. Thanks for any help in advance.. L.
