Thanks for the referrals Jose and Domenico! Yes, we offer an instructor assisted, online course called Building Custom ArcGIS Server Applications with JavaScript if you're interested. It has been a very popular course for us over the past few years.

Is there anything else that needs to be done in Aptanta 3.0 other than drag the vsdoc to the project in which you're working? I've done this but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know if it possible to give the end user the ability to pick up and drag a point to a new location without having an editor widget visible inside a <div>. Basically what I have done is to provide edit capabilities on various point layers without the Editor widget, but not sure how to implement the ability to drag and drop an existing point to a new location without having this widget. Any code samples would be great if this is possible. Everything I've seen so far requires the widget to be present.

Anyone know how I can accomplish the following? 1. Need to pull ObjectID, TenantName, NAICS, SF fields from a Tenant FeatureLayer (this one is easy) 2. For each record pulled in #1 I need to get the PropertyName field from a related Property Feature Layer 3. I then need to combine the results into a Dojo DataGrid that lists TenantName, NAICS, SF, and PropertyName. Just not sure how to combine the featuresets.

I need to be able to start and stop the Editor widget as necessary in my application. I see where I can use Editor.startup() to start the widget. Is there a method that I can use to "stop()" or disable the widget temporarily and then startup() again later? The documentation doesn't show the "startup()" method from what I can tell. I just found it in a sample. Not sure if there is a complementary "stop()" or "disable()".

Hi, I'm building an application that has the ability to perform measurement through the Measurement Tool along with identify functionality in 2.3 of the API. Both tools work with the map.click event. I understand the mechanics of how to stop an event so that for instance when the user clicks the map to perform an identify that it doesn't also perform a measurement. However, with the measure tools I don't see any exposed events that would allow me to stop an event. For example, when the user clicks the Measure Distance tool and then clicks the map to define the first point it also attempt to perform an identify and vice versa. Anyone know how to handle this? Set the alwaysUseProxy back to 'false' which I guess was causing the protocol error. Now it just seems to hang though.

I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error when attempting to access a GeometryService. Code is pretty straight forward but maybe I'm doing something wrong or perhaps this is permission related. gsvc = new esri.tasks.GeometryService("http://<my server>/ArcGIS/services/Geometry/GeometryServer"); var params = new esri.tasks.BufferParameters(); params.bufferSpatialReference = new esri.SpatialReference({wkid: 3395}); params.outSpatialReference = new esri.SpatialReference({wkid: 3395}); params.geometries = geometries; params.distances = [25]; params.unit = esri.tasks.GeometryService.UNIT_METER; params.unionResults = true; gsvc.buffer(params, showBuffer);
