Robert- Your e-search widget is great! Is there a way to get it to select the hydrants that are inside the buffer? Thanks!

Robert- I've been going down the Developer Edition rabbit hole - because I want to try and use your Enhanced Search widget. I have it in my C:\WebAppBuilderForArcGIS\widgets folder but when i open a new app it is not listed. Am I missing a step somewhere? Thanks-

Here's what I'm trying to do: User searches on parcel layer (using Address field) -> then I need to take the parcel that was selected and buffer that by 500/1000/1500 ft -> then select and highlight any hydrants within that buffer distance -> then display info on hydrants in a popup. I'm sure the issue is me but it's not letting me get hydrants within a buffer distance....

Oh thanks, this might be the way to go - the query widget isn't letting me work with the results of the query. I'll try this next. Thank you!

Thanks, Robert, I'll give this a try. I hope to one day be ready to tackle your Enhanced Search Widget, I've heard a LOT of great things about it - I'll have to introduce myself to WAB Dev, though Thanks again-

Hello all - I need a widget that will buffer the outside of a polygon - not the centroid. User will type in address and then the widget should allow them to buffer their entire parcel. (Goal is to locate fire hydrants that are within 500, 1000, or 1500 feet from the parcel boundary). NearMe only does the centroid. The situational analysis widget is great except users shouldn't draw their own polygons. Is there anything canned I can use? Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Jared- I'm new to editing related tables in Collector, but are you sure you have set up your relationship correctly? If you are trying to add a second record to a feature your relationship has to be 1 to Many, or Many to Many - have you checked to make sure it is not 1:1?

Yes, ESRI Support did a lot of tracking down to find the issue - it was with the HP Assistant software that came preinstalled on my machine. Support said that this type of memory leakage was often due to third party software loaded on the PC. Hope this helps!

We contacted ESRI Support and they walked us through manually deleting the entry from the states table. We haven't had any more issues with it.

I looked at some navigation software (not the one you mentioned, thanks), but this is not along a roadway. This is a heavily wooded area that is supposedly not walkable due to overgrowth - they want to blaze a trail through it using gps guidance. Total area for the project is about 16 acres. When you say "This data could then be used within a device that supports navigation to help the "driver" stay on track." can you give me some more suggestions on devices? I haven't seen anything financially feasible that allows input of multiple points - geocaching programs seem to want you to add one set of coordinates at a time. Navigation software wants to give directions. I guess I need something like what they use in farming automation?

Hello All- Really hoping someone can give me input here. We have a project requested by our Public Works Department. They want to use our gps unit (Trimble GeoXH running ArcPad 10.0) or another mobile device (we have iPhones, iPad or android phones), to give a bulldozer operator the ability to navigate to each of the points in a shapefile to create a walking path through a thickly wooded area. We created the shapefile from coordinates provided by the PW Dept (there's 234 points). When we tested both of ArcPad's navigation methods ( the Query and Go To - using the binoculars, and the Go To Selected method where you select a point on the screen and choose go to selected feature) neither one really works. The compass arrow is too erratic and doesn't provide consistent directions. Someone using it from the driver's seat would never be able to make it work. I've checked other methods online - even geocaching type functionality - but everything looks geared to navigating to one point. We'd like him to get within 5 - 10 feet of each point in order to clear the land for the trail. Has anyone else tried to do something like this? Any ideas? Our ESRI rep suggested Collector - but the user doesn't need to capture any data in the field - they just need to be able to guide their tractor to each point to create a gently undulating line. I'm stumped! Thanks in advance for any guidance.
