Hi Jesse Have a read of this page - ArcGIS Pro license levels—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation ArcGIS Pro users using Basic level cannot edit feature classes in a enterprise geodatabase. You need a Standard Level to begin to create and manage enterprise geodatabase artifacts, like relationship classes. I am going to make a big assumption that you do not have Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server is not federated? If you do have both, then the ability to modify features via a feature service is managed by a staff members Portal user type (they must be signed into Portal as a Data Editor, Creator (user, data editor, publisher or administrator). An ArcGIS Pro Standard license is still required. If not, then it would be determined by the Server users set up and capabilities configured in ArcGIS Server service and what credentials are provided when you create a new ArcGIS Server connection. This method is becoming less common in favour of using Portal for ArcGIS for authentication\authorization and privileges\roles across ArcGIS Enterprise. An ArcGIS Pro Standard license is still required. Editor permissions for feature services—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Field Maps requires either Field Worker Named user type or Creator (with data editor, user or publisher role) to allow staff to be collect data in the field, both online and offline. To create ArcGIS Field Maps web maps, a member must be a Creator (publisher role). User types, roles, and privileges—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation. If you use Field Maps or other Esri mobile applications for data collection, you do not require ArcGIS Pro for the same task. Hope this information helps Cheers Ed

Hi Heather There is a lot to consider. Will you be truncating features in the older SDE sql server table and then appending new features into this same table? In this scenario, any configuration made in SDE will not be migrated across. SDE configuration in each database remain independent. How much backward compatibility between enterprise geodatabases is an important consideration here too. There are limits in how far back a version you can go between SQL Server and ArcGIS. If you want to delete the older SDE sql server table completely and migrate a new copy as a fresh table - then any SDE configuration is deleted and you have to reconfigure these tables as feature classes\enterprise geodatabase artifacts. Also consider downstream impacts of deleting an artifact. For example, if you have a ArcGIS Server service registered this feature class as a data source and it gets deleted, then in many cases, a data outage occurs until you republish. From my limited experience, SSIS doesn't 'out of the box' understand enterprise geodatabases concepts like feature classes unless you specifically include updates to SDE system tables. I strongly recommend not to modify SDE system tables directly. I'm my opinion, other products like ArcGIS Data Interoperability, FME Workbench, even python using arcpy can handle interoperability between data model frameworks and formats and backwards compatibility of enterprise geodatabases much better and a bit more maturely than SSIS. I would be interested to see what others have done with SSIS too. Cheers Ed

Hey Map2021 In ArcGIS Pro's Create Replica Tool, instead of selecting the layer from the drop down list, click the folder button. Navigate to your database connection, expand and select the feature dataset in question. This populates in the text box under Replica Datasets. In my screen shot below, Cadastre is a feature dataset with two unique feature classes. This option will not honor any definition queries. Which version of ArcMap are you using? In 10.8.1, the advanced settings are the same as found in ArcGIS Pro. Thanks Ed

Hello Jansen Good question and a very broad one. In general, within a service properties or configuration, there is no parameter to limit the number of records to append\upload or to cut the transaction when a file size is reached. When a member adds a hosted item in either ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal for ArcGIS And ArcGIS Data Store), there is a 500GB limit. (What can you add to ArcGIS Online?—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation). What can you add to ArcGIS Enterprise?—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise. As for referenced services in Portal ( whereby the data source is a enterprise geodatabase), there is no file size limit. Any time based disruptions to the load might come from network traffic load or timeouts through IIS\tomcat or load balancers. Databases too have connection timeout type settings that can be fine tuned to disconnect a connection after a period of time. I recommend limiting the sharing option of the feature layer in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS to the owner only and then share it to a group with participating members who are approved to undertake feature level data management on a feature layer\feature service (being Creators user types with data editor or publisher role). The downside here is that if you need to overwrite the web layer, then the sharing options get overwritten and you have to manually reapply the sharing settings. It is inconvenient but in my opinion, keeping content secure and avoiding anonymous access to any end point trumps. Cheers Ed

Hi Vincent I assume you have a feature class ( 1 feature) to join to a table ( Many rows) in an enterprise geodatabase? You can use a database view with a right join to result in 1 feature (overlapping) linked to each row from the table. If its between two tables, you could also try Joining attributes in one table to another—ArcMap | Documentation (arcgis.com). This page might also help Essentials of joining tables—ArcMap | Documentation (arcgis.com) Regard Ed

Hi Ben Membership is assigned a named user type, privilege and role and these capabilities are enabled to that member regardless of which application they are logging into. The Editor, Field Worker and Creator named user types have feature level editing capabilities 'out of the box' to Essential Apps in ArcGIS Online\Portal for ArcGIS. Unfortunately, there is no application level setting to prohibit access only to ArcGIS Online or only to Survey 123 or to both. This would be a good enhancement idea though and worth submitting in ArcGIS Ideas page of this community. Thanks Ed

Hello Phillip The following link may help. In Portal, it is possible to store credentials for a secure service item without the need to prompt users for authentication. Other things to consider is that along with the web app, the underlying web map and feature layers\services need to be made public as well. Connect to secure services—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise Thanks Ed

Hello Sebastian A smart developer out there may have created a customisation widget and made the code available that could make documents ediable in a window. Another option is to store the text in a field of the feature layer and then you could get members (Creators or Editors) to edit the cell directly via the attribute table in a web app. A common user case for organisations is to create a 'manage data' web app with some draw and editing widgets enabled to allow users to modify existing features and attributes, create new or delete\retire existing features to either a hosted feature layer ( ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise) or referenced feature layer ( ArcGIS Enterprise only). Hello Sorato In the map viewer, there is no standard tool to create points from a table. At the point when you add the table into ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise, you can create a hosted feature layer and points from X and Y stored in this tabular item. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/publish-features.htm In Pro you can create an XY event layer from your table which results in a new feature class with point features which you add to your map for publishing: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/make-xy-event-layer.htm Here are two good tutorials more generally on this topic Create points from a table—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Create points on a map—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Cheers Ed

Hello Sebastian Through a web app - outside of the pop up window, it would be more so a customisation rather than anything available out of the box. Instead of making the files available as attachments, you could use urls to the documents, hosted in the document management system or possibly a web server? You would need to construct the url (either stored in an attribute in a field for each record\feature or in the pop up box ( as a custom attribute display). An example of the url could be https://orgname.sharepoint.com/teams/myteam/Feature_Document.pdf Don't forget to consider your organisation's network security and configuration and IT policies Cheers Ed

Hello Nancy In effect, you have to change ownership of the web map from the contractor to you. When you look at the map item details page, on the right hand side, down the page you should see Owner and the option to Change Owner. Select Change Owner and select yourself. This will change the ownership of the web map. You will need to change the ownership of the underlying feature layers aswell. Your ArcGIS Online membership must have the Administrator role or a customised administrator role ( with Administrative Privledges > Content > ReAssign Ownership enabled) Have a look at Manage content—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation, Change Owner section for more information. I assume that you have one ArcGIS Online site and the content lives in here, we aren't moving from one ArcGIS Online to a second ArcGIS Online. Use Distributed collaboration—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation if you wish to move\synchronise data between sites. Cheers Ed

Hello Fran There is an out of the box way to bulk delete members. The first challenge you have is that it is not possible to delete members that have content, so, as an AGOL Administrator, you would first have to either delete a member's content or have it moved to another member. Then you can delete that member. If none of the users have any content then you could create something using the REST API: Delete User—ArcGIS REST API | ArcGIS for Developers The workflow would need to get a token first and issue the delete requests as an administrator user: Implementing App Login | ArcGIS for Developers Regards Ed

Hello Amanda File based urls or application intergration urls would not be updated to https through this setting if the url is stored as a data value in a field. I tested this out In AGOL (one feature with url of http and a second feature with url of https) and both were able to be clicked on and open a pdf document in a new tab. I would update these stored data values as a matter of good practice. My understanding is that photos or videos being stored against a feature hosted layer ( for example embedded in a pop up window) will be updated by this setting. Regards Ed
