Hi Justin, I have been trying to setup a web adapter with anonymous authentication with a specific user in order to access secured map services. I've followed your instructions for doing this but the secured services don't show up, only the unsecured services in the services directory. Are there any additional steps or something else I could be missing here? I started this configuration with ArcGIS Server 10.1 but due to a bug, you can't make the root of the services directory public so I upgraded to ArcGIS 10.2.2.

Is there a way to report the data sources for layers in a map service using the REST API? If not, does anyone know of another way to access them, perhaps via the MSD directly or Server Object Extension?

I experienced a similar problem when calling the append geoprocessor tool multiple times inside a loop. Calling append multiple times seemed to work fine on most of my datasets but i noticed if the interval between consecutive append calls was small, the process would hang. My process involved loading a Shapefile to a File Geodatabase, adding and calculating some fields, appending to an SDE Feature Class, deleting the objects, and repeating multiple times. Occasionally, the process would hang after the call to append was made. To solve the issue, I modified the process to load all Shapefiles (25+) to a File Geodatabase and created a semi-colon delimited string of the input FGDB feature classes to pass as an input to the append tool.

I was able to correct this by stating the spatial reference of the esri map service in code, i.e., "SpatialReferenceWKID=4326" Thanks again for the help.

Thanks for the reply. The issue is my service has a different spatial reference than the ESRI map service that I am using for my base layer. Would it be easier to change the spatial reference of my service or convert the Geometry Parameters on Identify to the correct units?

I recently implemented an identify tool using the example on the Resource Center (http://resources.esri.com/help/9.3/arcgisserver/apis/silverlight/samples/start.htm#Identify). The tool was working but I am now having a problem with the following code: foreach (IdentifyResult result in identifyArgs.IdentifyResults) { Graphic graphic = AddGraphicToLayer(MyMap.Layers[CUSTOM_GRAPHICS_LAYER_ID] as GraphicsLayer, result.Feature, GetResultsSymbolForGeometry(result.Feature.Geometry),result.LayerName); //ResultsFillSymbol); } The foreach loop (taken from the ESRI example) never gets executed because identifyArgs.IdentifyResults is empty. The only difference between my code and the ESRI code is that I am pulling in my own dynamic map service. I am confident the map service is set up correctly because the layers appear in the application; i.e. can be turned on and off. However, the service does not seem to be working for the identify tool. The line of code used to access the service was taken from the ESRI example. IdentifyTask identifyTask = new IdentifyTask("http://pc231/example/rest/services/hou/MapServer");
