Great thanks! The $datastore did the the trick. I cannot tell you how useful it is to have the ability to summarize data for multiple features without having to do a spatial join. A real game changer.

I am using the geoprocessing tool "calculate field" and I have one point feature layer and one polygon feature layer, both in the same file gdb. My expression is as follows: var x = FeatureSetbyName($map,"Apartments"); var y = Count(Intersects(x, $feature)); return y

Is your data stored in a geodatabase? Here is the error message I am getting: "ERROR 002717: Invalid Arcade expression, Arcade error: Object not found $map, Script line: 1"

Hey Xander, This is very helpful stuff. Can the FeatureSetByName function also be used in ArcGIS Pro to get counts for intersecitng features stored in a gdb locally? Thanks. Kelly Gerrow Paul Barker

Hello, I have created a web map that utilizes the new FeatureSet functionality to essentially perform spatial analysis between 2 layers and have the result show up in the pop-up widget. I discovered that this same functionality is not available when symbolizing features, so I have written python script that runs the spatial join tool, creates a new layer, creates a join and calculates a field in the web feature layer. The script runs locally and accesses ArcGIS Pro without needing Pro to be open. The script also runs every few minutes using the Windows Task Scheduler so that the web layer is constantly being updated. My question is, can I achieve something similar using Arcade? I believe I should be able to use the FeatureSet function in Pro to do the spatial analysis without creating a new dataset, but can I set up an Arcade script to run tools similar to Python without needing Pro to be open? Also, I don't have ArcGIS Server or Enterprise so I don't believe I can make use of Attribute Rules to automate field calcs. Thanks. Xander Bakker

Hello, I would like the ability to add or update a non-spatial item like a pdf from my computer to My Content in AGOL through a python script. We have an agol organizational account, but not arcgis enterprise. Does anyone know if this is possible? Jake Skinner

Perfect thanks that worked. I missed the fields being added when I enabled editor tracking the first time, but I see them now.

Thanks. Is there where a way to auto populate the current time into a field as I add new features to a hosted feature class?

Hey Jake, This tool works great, but I would like to download only features that have been edited within the last hour. Is this possible with a Where Clause? I have a feature service hosted in arcgis online with editor tracking turned on. Thanks!

Ok I was able to get it to run and overwrite features by running the script through ArcMap and also hardcoding the variables and running the python script outside of ArcMap. I was hoping to run it once, copy the python code snippet and run the code that way, but that is when I get the error. ExecuteError: Failed to execute. Parameters are not valid. ERROR 000725: Output Feature Class/Table: Dataset E:\Projects\\nashville_app.gdb\grids already exists. Failed to execute (DownloadService).

Sorry if someone has already answered this, but is there a way to change the script to be able to overwrite an existing output? I am trying to come up with a workflow where we download a specific hosted feature layer after edits are made, perform some analysis locally, and re-upload another feature layer. This tool is great btw. Very helpful.

Hey David, I was just wondering if you had any luck with dynamically summarizing points within a boundary? I am looking for similar functionality. Thanks

Hey Jason, Did you ever find a solution for summarizing points within a polygon besides the analysis widget? I am having a similar issue. Thanks.

Hello All, I am currently attempting to put together a web mapping application for a client through the AGOL web app builder. One of the layers in the application is a set of grid cells covering a large geographic area. Another layer is a set of points containing a scoring value. The client would like to be able to summarize the points that fall into each grid cell and symbolize the grid cells based on the aggregated point score for each cell. I am aware there are tools in AGOL that can perform spatial analysis, but every time the analysis is run new data is created. I would like a solution that updates and symbolizes the grid cells as the underlying point data changes. Has anyone attempted something like this or had any luck with something similar? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks again. I read through the blog. It seems like every solution requires ArcServer and the ability to publish geoprocessing tools. I will have to come up with a different approach.
