Some older utility data models made use (heavily I might add) of subtypes for individual feature classes. Does anyone have any idea why the Local Government Data Model does not follow this standard? For example the swDischargePoint Feature class in the Stormwater dataset has a field for DISCHRGTYP which is assigned the piDischargePointType domain. Would it not have been easier to use the subtype functionality for all of these Discharge Point Types? I would appreciate any comments (especially from the local government team). Thanks, Dayton

Hi, I'm sorry if I'm a little late to the party. I'm also trying to load SSURGO data into the LGDM. From what I'm seeing the SSURGO data has two parts. The Mapunits which are the polygons actually representing different soils, and related tables called component tables that come as pipe delimited text files with no headings. To load all the data into the LGDM these tables have to be combined. The following link (ESRI's SSURGO Downloader) does a great job of getting the process started. The data that you can download has a Mapunits Feature Class for your watershed that already includes a lot of the data from the components tables. I will refer to this table/feature class as "Mapunits_Merged" because it is the original SSURGO Mapunits table joined with the various components. Features from the Mapunits_Merged table can be directly imported into the LGDM once you figure out the field mapping. The problem is the component percentage fields that the LGDM ask for are not included with the Mapunits_Merged table. There are two tools that can be downloaded from "ArcGIS Reources" that were probably used to make the transition from SSURGO data to geodatabase. According to the documentation the percentages missing from Mapunits_Merged are part of the output from these tools. SSURGO Soils Tools: Part 1 SSURGO Soils Tools: Part 1 These tools require a geodatabase with two tables as inputs. One table being the original SSURGO Mapunits table and the other being the components table. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to get the pipe delimited text files into a readable format that can be used as an input for the two tools. I will be emailing the creators of the tools to find out how to derive the components table. I will update when I find out more info. Sorry if you've already figured this out. Any additional information that I could use to help my data loading would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dayton

Hi Rachel, I'm having about the same problem. When I click on the map to pick the address ArcMap throws my point somewhere completely different than where I clicked. The only solution I've found is to pick the address three times. I do this because the second time doesn't usually put the point where I click either. Funny...never had this problem with 9.x. When you pick your address does it add x,y coordinates in the geocoding results for the point you are working on? -Dayton

Dayton- If you navigate to C:\Program Files\ArcPad 8.0\Developer\Samples\RelatedTables, there is a comprehensive code sample that shows how to creates forms for related tables. Please see my other post. http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/1884-Customizing-Related-Table-Sample-.vbs-Script I am aware of the Related Tables sample and Inspections.vbs sample code. However I have so far been unsuccessful in making the code work with my data. According to ESRI, ArcPad 10 will allow users to select certain related tables during checkout with the ArcPad Data Manager. Also, the form wizard will recognize related tables as it does the master table. In other words scripting won't be required. Forms can be built on related tables out of the box in ArcPad Studio at version 10. -Dayton

Just an update. This is the response from ESRI Support. "...this bug is fixed in ArcPad 10." If anyone has any ideas in the meantime I would greatly appreciate it.
