Good suggestions, guys, thanks! Here is what was wrong- map InitializationFailure "Unknown Operation: GET"/400 was due to me both using an incorrect URL and the fact that I had not spun-up a LocalGeometryService. I now spin-up that service first. Routing exception "Unknown Operation: GET"/400 was due to a bug in my code that was causing the URL to be ".../solve..." (which would have been appropriate for NA) when it should have been ".../jobs..." (appropriate for our Geoprocessing package). Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, the runtime debug log shows the request and an immediate response [INDENT][INDENT]2014-01-14 14:08:55,707 INFO rid=222 'server' GPServer-routing - GET GPServer/Model/solve?returnBarriers=false&returnPolylineBarriers=false&returnPolygonBarriers=false&outSR=102113&stops=%7b%22features%22%3a%5b%7b%22geometry%22%3a%7b%22x%22%3a-8783481.3848701%2c%22y%22%3a4300345.39038312%2c%22spatialReference%22%3a%7b%22wkid%22%3a102113%7d%7d%7d%2c%7b%22geometry%22%3a%7b%22x%22%3a-8783374.32772518%2c%22y%22%3a4300345.39038312%2c%22spatialReference%22%3a%7b%22wkid%22%3a102113%7d%7d%7d%5d%7d&returnDirections=true&returnRoutes=true&returnStops=false&ignoreInvalidLocations=true&preserveFirstStop=true&preserveLastStop=true&useTimeWindows=false&useHierarchy=false&directionsLengthUnits=esriNAUMiles&f=json& 2014-01-14 14:08:55,709 INFO rid=222 'server' GPServer-routing - Request handled. Any other ideas?

I'm getting the same error "Unknown operation: GET" with two different packages. The first is an .mpk. As I try to add a layer to my map, I see an InitializationFailure (code/message/hresult = 400/"Unknown operation: GET"/-2146233088==0x80131500). The second is a .gpk. When I try to solve a route, I also get the same code/message/hresult. Any ideas? Maybe an option to change when my GIS group creates the packages? Thanks.

Thanks, Dominique- setting .TokenGenerationReferer seems to have fixed it!

I am seeing "token slamming" = we are getting multiple challenges/tokens in a short amount of time. [note: on startup, I have IdentityManager's .ChallengeMethod set to GetCredentialsChallengeMethod()] Here's what I saw (earlier today, in just three seconds from 1:30:52 - 1:30:54) 1) our challengemethod GetCredentialsChallengeMethod() is called by ESRI dll as our token expires we keep track of the callback method (that ESRI wants us to call later) using class field m_esriProvidedCallback 2) our method GetCredentialsChallengeMethod() then calls [IdentityManager.]Current.GenerateCredentialAsync(), asking for a callback to HandleCredentialResponse() when credential is available 3) ESRI dll passes along a new credential by calling our HandleCredentialResponse() we keep track of this latest received credential using class field m_credential then, we make the callback ESRI wants us to via m_esriProvidedCallback 4) the credential is exipring in 2 minutes, but we immediately get ANOTHER challenge (the above steps are repeated) 5) again, that new credential is exipring in 2 minutes, but we immediately get ANOTHER challenge (the above steps are repeated) Any ideas? Thanks.

Mike, you mention addressing issues. I am seeing white tiles at times - one of the issues mentioned earlier in this thread. Can you specify which of the issues (white tiles/ zoomto...) are being addressed / whether they have been addressed already? [Mike]We should have these fixed for our next update Thanks.

After sitting idle for an extended period - I believe it was long enough to cause token refresh, I've seen the GenerateCredentialAsync() callback (Action<Credential, Exception>) made with Exception = "No HTTP answer". After that, I got white tiles when panning to a new region. Is there a 'best way' to try to get the IdentityManager to refresh the token after this has occurred? Thanks.

I can get text directions written to Route_Directions.xml - in any folder I want - when I run my Model in ArcMap. But, after Sharing to a .gpk, and submitting job via LocalGeoprocessingService, I can only seem to get the file to be written to the scratch folder in %temp%. Can I do something different to get the xml file to be written to a different folder outside of %temp%? Or is there a better way to get route directions when using a LocalGeoprocessingService? Thanks.

Here's an answer- I hope someone finds this useful. After a few changes including building MapPoints more similarly to the sample and I wound up seeing: Submitted. Executing... ERROR 000816: The tool is not valid. Failed. in the JobInfo.Messages that were seen at the geoprocessor JobInfo.JobStatus upate to esriJobStatus.esriJobFailed Next, looking at the ((ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Tasks.ServiceException)(taskFailedEventArgs.Error)).Details, I saw: "Cannot load the data file Dataset_conus for the geographic transformation NAD_1927_To_NAD_1983_NADCON." After seeing that, I modified my Runtime deployment to include: Client Core Local Server Geocoding Geoprocessing Spatial Analyst Network Analyst Map Server Results Additional Projection Engine Transformations So, the answer is: one of the above deployment options were needed. [And, thanks for the suggestion, Kuiper.]

Hello I'm trying a modification of the Point-to-point routing sample at http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=21a58d089764402e90ce127894dec94e My job is failing with jobinfo messages: "Submitted.", "Executing...", "Failed." and taskfailedeventargs: "Unable to complete operation." /-2146233088/0x80131500 (no inner exception) What are some techniques I can use to get some more information about the reason why the job failed? Would the .dat files in the subfolders of %temp%\arcgisruntime_xxxx be helpful to me? How can they be read? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Mike, thanks for the response, you pointed me to the right place. I had copied files from a deployment that had been built without ticking the "Local Server" checkbox. Calling LocalServer.Initialize() then threw the Error 267 "The directory name is invalid". Using a deployment built with that box checked, all is well.

When I call LocalServer.Initialize(), it throws: "The directory name is invalid" (error # 267) I've used ProcessMonitor and see the last entry before the errror occurs is Operation: CreateFile Path: C:\longpathtomyproject\MyProject\bin\Debug\ArcGISRuntime1.0\LocalServer64\bin Result: PATH NOT FOUND Detail: Desired Access: Read Attributes, Disposition: Open, Options: Open Reparse Point, Attributes: n/a, ShareMode: Read, Write, Delete, AllocationSize: n/a My deploment folder has the expected structure: ArcGISRuntime1.0 Client32 Client64 Resources I've tried to manually create the LocalServer64\bin folder being complained about above, with no better results. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Map rotation occurs with many fine-grained steps. I'd like to improve performance - even at the expense of making that rotation much less smooth. Is there a way to force map to _immediately_ rotate to match new heading? [Using ESRI.ArcGIS.Client::Map control File Version 2.2.0.629]
