Hi, on ArcMap 10.4, i frequently but randomly have an issue with all the tools in the toolbox. I run a tool - for example a Dissolve. The tool runs, no errors are flagged and it says the output is created. But nothing has actually happened - no output is created and nothing appears in the messages It doesn't seem to matter which tool i choose. It works fine sometimes but not others even for data in the same geodatabase and with the same scheme This is with background geprocessing turn on

Hi, I'm receiving the same error I've tried to move the output to various places but still same same issue of: outReclassify.save = (output) AttributeError: 'Raster' object attribute 'save' is read-only inRaster = "J:\develop\DEGURBA\python\dgurba.gdb\POPL_DENS_GR_1KM_2006_GEOSTAT" reclassField = "Value" remap = RemapRange ([[0, 300, "NODATA"],[300, 1000000, 1]] ) output = "j:\\develop\\DEGURBA\\outreclass02" outReclassify = Reclassify(inRaster, reclassField, remap, "NODATA") outReclassify.save = (output)

Hi, We have a number of mxds which we use for map services. Within them we have a number of fields which we want to turn off e.g. object_id, shape_length etc. Is it possible to switch these off in arcpy so that they are not visible when identify is use or can it only be done by going into the mxd and un-ticking them? Thanks

Hi there, Can i ask how you resolved this? I'm getting a similar error, but its says "Could not create network dataset The table already exists" As far as i can see there are no tables in the feature dataset containing the network data - in this case just the road network and road junctions, and i cant see any locks on the database Thanks

Thanks Jeff, We think we have a way around, we are goingto create a dummy layer file for each of the required scales, then set up a tool to changethe data source, apply the symbology, rename the layer file and save as a new mxd which we then use to create map services However our main issue is changing the datasource, the dummy layers point to a file geodatabase with but with the links broken and we are attempting to use this to change the source to SDE import arcpy
mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(r"J:\users\harromi\replacesource\dummy.mxd")
sdepath = r"Z:\webapp\mapservices\Maps\connection-files\DEV\GISCO-DEV-direct-giscoread.sde"
for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListBrokenDataSources(mxd):
if lyr.supports("DATASOURCE"):
if lyr.dataSource == r"H:\MyDocuments\ArcGIS\Default.gdb\Export_Output":
lyr.replaceDataSource(sdepath, "SDE_WORKSPACE", "GISCOVIEW.STAT_LIFEXF_NUTS2_2006_8_01M", True)
lyr.name = "LifeEX"
mxd.saveACopy(r"H:\MyDocuments\ArcGIS\Untitled6.mxd")
Similar code works when updating the source to a another fgdb feature but won't work for SDE Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to update the data source of a layer in a mcd using arcpy, i can get this to work when updating to a fgb but not to SDE, is there an obvious error in the oce import arcpy mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(r"H:\MyDocuments\ArcGIS\Untitled.mxd") sdepath = r"Z:\webapp\mapservices\Maps\connection-files\DEV\GISCO-DEV-direct-gisco.sde" for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListBrokenDataSources(mxd): if lyr.supports("DATASOURCE"): if lyr.dataSource == r"H:\MyDocuments\ArcGIS\Default.gdb\Export_Output": lyr.replaceDataSource(sdepath, "SDE_WORKSPACE", r"GISCOVIEW.STAT_LIFEXF_NUTS2_2006_8_01M") lyr.name = "LifeEX" mxd.saveACopy(r"H:\MyDocuments\ArcGIS\Untitled1.mxd") The error is Runtime error <type 'exceptions.ValueError'>: Layer: Unexpected error Thanks

Hi Is it possible to set the visible scale of a layer using ArcPy? What i'm aiming to do is apply the symbology from one layer to a number of other layers but vary the scale at which each layer is visible using Arcpy For example, we have 5 feature classes essentially showing the same data at different resolutions e.g 1m,10m, 100m. I want to create a layer file for one feature class, then using arcpy assign this symbology to create layer files for the other feature classes but at the same time alter the display scale depening on the resolution Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew if it were possible to edit the print templates in ArcGIS explorer. We need to insert a copyright on ant maps printed to comply with the licensing of the data from the supplier. ArcGIS explorer would be an excellent product for us, but until we can insert a copyright on any printouts we cant use it Thanks Michael
