Does Collector support survey stakeout routine? I'm referring to a bulls-eye type display for navigating to a point. If not, do any ArcGIS apps support this? I recall ArcPad having a rudimentary staking capability.

I just tried to find the same installer. If it helps, I found it on our premises in... \\<network share>\ESRI\Desktop\ArcGIS\10.1\ArcSDE_Personal The name of the actual exe: ArcSdeSetupSqlExpress.exe It should be a download on my.esri.com. Once I get my EDN account connected to my organization, I will look for it and post if I find it.

Have you ever resolved this? We too are building a Python add-in for a custom edit experience within ArcMap. We want to leverage as much OOTB functionality in ArcMap as possible, including the edit session and undo/redo capabilities. Any more info since this post?

Hi, I have also been playing around with getting a WMTS service in ArcGIS 10.1 (SP1). I am using my own custom tiles through my own WMTS service (not Geoserver) which I can successfully pull in but when I overlay some building outline shapefiles I can see an offset of about 48 meters. I then also tried loading in the same City of Vienna's WMTS, mentioned earlier, and can see a similar offset when compared to loading in some OSM and ESRI Streets Basemaps (File>Add Data>Add Basemap...). Is there a known issue with displaying WMTS in 10.1? I ask because I noted some WMTS fixes in 10.2 release notes - but I don't yet have access to this version to verify... Jason We're seeing issues in shifts depending on the Tile Matrix Set we choose. A question I have is how the Tile Matrix set relates to the dataframe coordinate system? Are they independent? Or, will ArcMap always try to project back to the dataframe crs regardless of which tile matrix set I choose?

Rolled my own. Attached is the enhanced javascript 2.8 legend control designed to provide legend for 10.1 image services with discrete (thematic) data. The image service must contain a colormap and optionally a raster attribute table. Feel free to use, customize, etc. Dave I've written a web application that consumes image services. If I want to show a legend, is it up to me as developer to roll my own solution? Do any widgets or functionality in the web api's offer any help? Other options?

There was a bug in how the font size was defined. "em" units was the problem. I switched to "px" units and all is well. I have the same issue where TextSymbol does not display in IE8. I cannot use the IE7 workaround as we are targeting IE8, IE9, Chrome, FF and have other code that IE7 will not support. I also prefer to use the esri-hosted jsapi, version 2.8 and therefore cannot apply the patch presented in the bug tracker. What are my options? This is still an issue in jsapi 2.8 which is based on dojo 1.6.1.

Those two blog posts do nothing more with the esri builds than create a discard file so dojo code that exists within the esri build isn't duplicated in the resulting layer file. In actuality, the esri code isn't used at all. The esri dojo dependencies are simply listed in the dependencies section of the discard layer. The custom build process does nothing with the esri code. No esri code is bundled into the resulting layer file as indicated by robeym comments above. To clarify, I'm looking for a way to produce a custom build that includes my app's dojo dependencies AND esri dependencies all bundled up in one or a few lean layer file(s). My goal is to limit the http chattiness between my app and the dojo/esri resources it needs to speed up my application. I have a working custom build which limits chattiness for dojo resources but is still very chatty for esri resources. My understanding is I need esri unminified source code to meet that goal. Is that available from somewhere? A post above indicates it is, but hard to find. Again, I already have the minified esri api and know how to download that from the resource center. I'm looking for the true unminified source. No, you can still do builds. I haven not personally done it, but the two blog post links you originally posted are talking about doing dojo builds with our already built API.

And just to confirm, esri code from this un-minified version cannot participate in the dojo build process, correct? We don't provide an un-minified version of the API. You can download the API if you'd like to host locally here: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jshelp/intro_accessapi.html Which takes you here: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/web/arcgis-javascript-api-download

I was told from ESRI that javascript source code (unminified) is not available. I would love if that statement was wrong and I could build esri code into my layer file. I tried a build with esri's "built" (minified) code downloaded and saved locally to no avail. Where exactly is the esri javascript source code on arcgis.com? You can include esri code in your layer. You need to download the source code from the esri customers site (i think). It's kind of hard to find but it's on arcgis.com somewhere. After that you need to do something like this, and then add the esri namespace to your deps.
prefixes: [
[ "dijit", "../../dijit" ],
[ "dojox", "../../dojox" ],
[ "esri", "../../esri"],
[ "app", "../../app" ],
[ "dbp", "../../dbp" ]
]
It's not easy, but it can be done!

I'm trying to create a custom dojo build. I've followed the procedures on these 2 helpful resources. http://geospatialscott.blogspot.com/2011/06/using-dojo-build-system-to-speed-up.html http://blog.geocortex.com/2009/05/12/build-your-jsapi-applications-for-performance/ These approaches are very similar. Question I have is does the resultant layer file include any of the ESRI code resources or simply Dojo defined resources. For example, can an Esri FeatureLayer or Map class be bundled in that layer file or only dojo code?
