Hey Arne, I saw your post and wanted to personally reply as the CEO of GEO Jobe. I hope some of our existing customers reach-out on this thread as well to share their experiences. Our installation guide can be found on our public knowledge base. I have included below the landing page of the knowledge base and a link to the most relevant article. Also, we offer extremely affordable advanced support packages that cover installation where we can work with you on a remote desktop or screen share to do the install for the client if they prefer that over following the below linked guide. Feel free to reach-out at connect@geo-jobe.com with any questions. We honestly try to respond to and support our user community as quickly as possible. https://geo-jobe.com/kbase Installation Article In regards to maintenance, new builds are shipped to the client as requested or at least yearly to make sure they don't fall too many versions behind. The new build is a zip file that can be updated by simply unzipping it to the same directory and restarting a service on the server. Please reach-out if we can help at all! Best Regards, David Hansen

"I believe Nathan should still be able access his portals using ArcGIS Online Assistant since they are accessible out side of his firewall, seems weird. He may want to reach out to the developer of the tool on this one (Evan Caldwell @ecaldwell). It could be any number of things. We do have Admin Tools for Portal that will work even in a completely disconnected environment, which has cloning tools that handle this type of operation along with all our other Admin Tools such as bulk editing, emailing users, etc..."

Hey Christopher, I'm the team lead for the Admin Tools. Thanks for the head's up. We want to look into this immediately. Could you submit a bug report inside of the Admin Tools using the "Request a Tool or Report a Bug" link in the bottom right? If you keep the "send information about your organization with request" box checked, it will allow us to gather some information with the bug report that should let us better address the issue. Also, if you leave a phone number with that bug report, we will contact you and attempt to work through it directly. We always appreciate feedback from our users. Thanks!

Jeff, I agree with you 100%. Solid advice. Any new people reading this chain should definitely head his words. You will see a lot of negative talk about DOJO on the general web, but inside of an Esri environment, it just makes sense to go ahead and use it. Newer people have a little trouble wrapping their head around AMD, but it is worth the time to really get to understand it. Also, when using AMD, use a build system. A build system will help your deployment immensely. If you are just extending a template and just need to manipulate the DOM go ahead use jQuery, but the merits of DOJO really come apparent for enterprise level apps. I personally use jQuery all the time when doing general web work, but it is a beast of awesome when it comes to robust GIS apps and it is already there thanks to Esri.

Joseph, My understanding is that, when creating the options for the search bar, the basic template will automatically read from the list of geocoders associated with your organization and provide them as search options. There may be other ways to do it involving going deeper into code, but this has been the method I have always used when I get asked about how to set this up. To me, it seems just a little counter intuitive as to how the utility services relate to the search box in the basic template. To add a new geocoder as a Utility Service to your organization do the following: Log in as an admin of your organization. Click "My Organization" in the top banner. Click "Edit Settings" above the list of users in your org. Click "Utility Services" on the left hand side of your org settings page. In the geocoding section click "Add Geocoder" and fill in the provided form. NOTE: The name you use when filling in the form for the geocoder will be the name that shows in the dropdown in the template when a user is deciding which source to search against. Such as in my screenshot I chose "Spatial Links Dev Test" for this example. If everything goes correctly, you will see a little drop down next to the magnifying glass in the search bar. Once clicked a list will appear such as the the screenshot below. On a side note: We in GEO-Jobe have built a tool that we can drop into any web mapping application that detects the layers in the source webmap and allows or searching against both an address locator and any data in the source layers all at the same time. If this functionality is not natively supported in the JavaScript Web Application Builder, we will most likely publish it as a widget for download. I hope this was all helpful and correct information. Someone jump in if I have said anything incorrect.

Code Academy has an entire track for jQuery, which is free. The courses on Code Academy are usually a pretty good place to pick up skills and are pretty straight forward and helpful since you write code while learning the lessons. jQuery | Codecademy
