I have to agree with Joabel here. For me the expected behavior is that mask affects the outside of my area of interest!

Does anyone have a workflow for creating editable or 'fillable' PDF forms from data driven pages in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro? One of our users is using data driven pages to generate field survey forms with a map and a bunch of data fields which surveyors fill in, but it would be great to provide the option to enter the data into the fields in the PDF itself. Yes, it would be much easier for us if the surveyors used Collector/ Survey123 but many of them don't have smartphones or prefer to fill in PDFs and send them back. Any solutions? Thanks.

There's a background color parameter in the general scene properties but it's set to transparent (which appears as black) and I can't change it.

When you go to map frame properties and set the size so that it's the same as that of the map layout, also set the position to 0, 0 and the data frame will then fit exactly to the map layout. Totally agree it would be better if there was a one-click solution, though.

Hi Paul, Is the date displayed with the identify tool the date that the imagery were captured (i.e. as opposed to processed or uploaded)? Can you point me to somewhere where this is stated in concrete, by Esri? Thanks for your help.

I'm afraid not, Nava. I agree - it seems very basic, but from my limited web GIS knowledge I'm not sure how difficult it is to implement technically.

I have a hosted Feature Layer within a web map in ArcGIS Online which I shared from ArcMap. I've created labels in my web map but there doesn't appear to be any way to adjust placement properties. Where two labels occur close together, rather than applying a conflict resolution and placing them both, one of the labels is removed from the map. What's the simplest way around this? I want all of my feature labels to display at the country scale - is it possible?

Thanks Dan, yes of course the DMS integer of 53 degrees can never become a DD integer of 54 degrees which means that my example calculation produces an incorrect result. I believe that the calculation is sound in principle however this is a textbook case of rubbish in - rubbish out! Thanks for your feedback.

I have been given a spreadsheet containing Degrees Minutes Seconds coordinates in the format 'DD MM SSS' (including the spaces). I've used the DMS - DD formula ‘DD = (Seconds/3600) + (Minutes/60) + Degrees' to convert the DMS values to DD. I have also used the Convert Coordinate Notation tool in ArcMap. Both methods agree that my DMS of 53° 47’ 985” = 54.05694. This would seem to be because the seconds contain three digits when they should contain only two. Does anyone have any ideas as to how this could have arisen? I'm now thinking that what I have is in fact Degrees, Minutes, Decimal Seconds.

I'm trying to export raster datasets from a raster catalog and for the exported raster datasets to have the names that they have within the catalog rather than being named after the raster catalog itself. I set up a model to iterate through the rasters in the raster catalog and export them using 'Raster To Other Format'. However when I run this model the output rasters are named after the raster catalog with incremental numbering so I get '[catalogname]_1', '[catalogname]_2' etc. I included a Parse Path to try and get the raster dataset name and assign it to the output, but I can only get it to point at 'Raster.OBJECTID=1'. 'Raster To Other Format' doesn't allow me to specify an output file name so I can't use '%Value%' even if the Parse Path was working as I intended. Any alternatives or workarounds would be very welcome! Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem in that I'm trying to export raster datasets from a raster catalog but they are assuming the file names of the raster catalog itself so I get something like 'catalogname_1', 'catalogname_2' etc... I tried using parse path in model builder but I couldn't get it to pass the file names to the new output files.

I got an email back promptly from GIStraining@esri.com which gave the following simple instructions. To get started, follow the steps below: Go to https://esri.udemy.com/ Login with your personal Esri Account (user name: ___) Click on “Earth Imagery” card Click the “Get Started Now” button Hey presto - I now have access to the course content! It was simply a case of this login instruction email not being received. Anyone else who didn't get that email should just be able to follow these steps and access the course content no problem.
