I am trying the same approach of passing a variable to to the print layoutOptions using setting the var = document.getElementById("**").value, but not getting it to work either. did you find a solution after you posted this question over three years ago?

This thread is fairly old but this problem persists. I have been trying to find a way to pass esriJobMessageTypeError to the output message box the user receives once a gp script fails. I can see the errors returned using the browser's built in developer tools, but most of my users will not know how to use access these messages. I read that flex Viewer 3.7 was supposed to have enhanced error reporting for the gp widget, but I don't see any enhancement from previous versions or a way to enable them. I have looked at implementing GPMessage into the uncompiled geoprocessing.mxml but need a little guidance as to how to do this correctly. Bjorn Svensson Robert Scheitlin Any advice or links to solutions out there? Thanks.

On your device, there should be an "AppData" folder that contains all data for every app on your mobile device. I don't think it matters that you are using Windows 7. It is possible that the AppData folder could be hidden so you may need to make hidden folders visible first. I was able to get Collector data of an iOS device at the time of my original post, but have since transitioned to Android, but I know it can be done. Have you tried using the search bar in Windows file explorer to search for an "ArcGISApp" or "offline_data" folder within your device?

Apologies upfront. Being over a year ago, I can't recall exactly what was done to resolve this. I did learn that ExportReport will not support background processing and it did not seems to like being a part of a stand alone Python script either. I was able to execute this funtion by turning off background processing and running the script via a ArcMap Script Tool.

report_src in arcpy.ExportReport() can be reference to layer file or a table view. I am utilizing the former in this example.

Jared, My method described above is for retrieving Collector data off of your mobile device that was collected using Collector's disconnected mode. Below is a break down of my my previous response: 1. Connect your mobile device to your PC and navigate to the ArcGISApp folder on your mobile device (I can't tell you where this is precisely and likely varies from one device to another). 2. Copy the "offline_data" folder to you desktop. 3. Use the "Copy Runtime Geodatabase to File Geodatabase (conversion)" tool within ArcMap to convert the .GEODATABASE file in the "offline_data" folder to a File Geodatabase (.gdb)

Hi George, You've probably already discovered this as this post is pretty old now, but ExportReport will not function as a geoprocessing service and is the likely cause of your gp service failure (it is for me running 10.3). Have you found a workaround for this? Jeff

Jacqueline, This part of the process was a bit more involved. Rather than explain in detail, here is a link to another forum thread that provides the instruction. Merging together Attachment Data sets I hope this helps, good luck.

I've had similar issues trying to sync ~ 1GB of data over the network from Collector to the AGOL web map. Trying to move a lot of data through collector seems to be the cause of most of these related problems. After talking with ESRI support I've found a workaround that is suitable for our office's situation. Navigating to the ArcGISApp folder on you mobile device, you can copy the "offline_data" folder to your desktop. If you have ArcMap 10.*, you can use the "Copy Runtime Geodatabase to File Geodatabase (conversion)" tool to convert the .GEODATABASE file with all your data to a fGDB. There is a folder that houses all your attachments as well. Once I got the unsyncable data into ArcMap, I was able to append it to the master dataset and maintain Global IDs and relationship with the attachments.

I am experiencing problems with arcpy.mapping.Exportreport as well since my desktop was updated to 10.2.1 earlier this week. I am attempting to export a .pdf report but encounter the follwing error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\Jeff\Documents\WORK\RECOVER\GetFireReportsData.py", line 69, in <module> arcpy.mapping.ExportReport(lyr, rlf, (r"C:/Data/RECOVER2/" + fireName + "Fire_detailed.pdf")) File "C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\arcpy\arcpy\utils.py", line 181, in fn_ return fn(*args, **kw) File "C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\arcpy\arcpy\mapping.py", line 515, in ExportReport return report_source._arc_object.ExportReport(*gp_fixargs((report_layout_file, output_file, dataset_option, report_title, starting_page_number, page_range, report_definition_query, extent, field_map), True)) RuntimeError: Error in generating report This is the function, pretty simple. It was working fine and the .pdf report was successfully generating last week when I was running 10.2.0. Can anybody tell me what is going on (mind that this is just part of a larger program, obviously I have imported arcpy.)? lyr = arcpy.mapping.Layer("<path>") rlf = ("<path>") arcpy.mapping.ExportReport(lyr, rlf, "<path>_detailedReport.pdf") Apologies for remaining vague. I must repeat, this was working prior to the 10.2.1 update.
