Follow up: I was running my script tool in ArcMap. The tables that were showing a deviant catalog path were tables in the ArcMap TOC that were copies of the tables in my target workspace (same name, different workspace. Ex: the target workspace is a File GDB with a table called STUDY_INFO, and the table in ArcMap is STUDY_INFO.dbf in a folder containing .dbf tables as well as shapefiles.) If I removed the table from ArcMap, the tool listed the correct path. This is kind of annoying, as the tool parameter is a workspace path and has nothing to do with the ArcMap TOC.

I have a script tool that takes a workspace as a parameter, then loops through the tables in that workspace and prints their catalog path. import arcpy
from arcpy import env
workspace = arcpy.GetParameterAsText(0)
env.workspace = workspace
for fc in sorted(arcpy.ListTables()):
arcpy.AddMessage(arcpy.Describe(fc).catalogPath) I have a file geodatabase with a schema imported from an SDE via XML. When I run my script tool against this file gdb I get strange results. The catalog path prints correctly for most of the tables, but a few will show having different catalog paths. Is this a python thing, an environment thing, or an XML schema document thing?

Okay, so I guess you can't wire the event handler in the Silverlight application, as you need to use Microsoft.Sharepoint libraries which you cannot do in a Silverlight application. Oh, well...

I have figured out how to add list items programmatically through the Map web part. Unfortunately on adding I don't get a pin for the new coordinates. Is there a way to trigger this, or will I have to add a feature to the list layer programmatically (if this is possible)?

Figured it out (sort of). Build a Silverlight Application as explained here. Add a class with commands and/or behaviors for your Map web part. You can create an object from MainPage and use any members of it in this class, as far as I can tell. This will get you Context.Web which allows you get get list objects by name. I haven't figured out how to wire up an item-added event handler, but I have used this method to add list items programmatically through the web part. (Don't forget to upload your extension to the Map web part and add any commands/behaviors!)

I would like to be able to have my web part listen for when an item is added to a spatially enabled list, then do something with the coordinates of the list. Any suggestions?

I am trying to emulate the Zoom To State functionality found here: http://sharepoint.arcgis.com/SitePages/Zoom%20To%20State.aspx The c sharp class I understand. My knowledge of Sharepoint, asp, and javascript is limited so I am having trouble understanding how the dropdown list on the right is calling the "scriptable member" ZoomToState method. Can anyone provide a simple explanation to help me? Thanks.

Hi Elitsa, I have read through the links you provided above. I think I have a good grasp on how this works for a standalone Silverlight application. Could you point me in the right direction for consuming a location-enabled SP list from a Map Web Part Command?

Screenshot is attached. It popped up this morning when I navigated to our sharepoint development site. The map had the Bing Aerial as base map and a feature service layer. An extension was added with the ESRI Editor Widget enabled. I removed the Editor, the extension file, and the feature service layer and the error still appeared on refresh. I removed the map web part and added it back and the error was gone. It did not re-appear after adding the extension and the feature service back.

Figured it out. Edit (Map) Web Part > Application tab > Manage > Ribbon Navigate to whatever tab and group the tool was added to and uncheck it.

I have added a custom command as well as the Editor Widget to my ArcGIS Map Web Part through the "Add Tool" button. Easy enough... So, maybe I'm missing something, but how do I take them off?

I just ran into this issue today and wanted to chime in with my support for all of Warren's points. Working in 9.3 so perhaps these have been addressed at 10, but with no response from ESRI in the thread I will assume not.

Using C#.NET in VS 2010. I have a custom toolbar implementing BaseToolbar. On the toolbar are commands, menus, and tools implementing BaseCommand, BaseMenu, and BaseTool. When clicking on a tool that, for example, shows a form, I would like to have other tools on the toolbar disabled. I have researched many leads I had for this problem, but I am coming up short. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
