Hey everyone, Just out of curiosity, I have a follow-up question. Is this image format thing a problem/bug in the ESRI javascript API? I did a quick test by publishing raster data and vector data as separate map services with transparency settings/ For raster data: its working fine on my web map and by dragging the map service into ArcMap (The image format in png32 in service layer properties). For vector data: its working in ArcMap (with png as image format) but not on my web map. so why ArcMap could automatically pick up the transparency settings but why not javascript API? Thanks in advance! Dan

Thank you for the help. It works for me now after adding this one line of code: baseMapLayer._params.format = 'png32';

Hi there, I have a few points and the geometry of a polygon, I want to get distinct points based on one field that fall within the polygon, could I accomplish this in the rest service page by doing the query? Cuz somehow I got an error message 'Failed to execute query'. as along as I set 'return distinct values' as false i would get results. but once its changed to 'true', the query failed. Thanks, Dan

Hi there, So the case is that I am trying to get an output.zip from server through gp.getResultData(jobInfo.jobId, "Output_Zip_File", lang.partial(lang.hitch(this, this.downloadFile), layerName)); I do see the results produced by gp service from the server. but it keeps giving me error message like this Any ideas? A side note is that I was able to use the gp service via rest service. Thanks in advance, Dan

Hi Kelley, Yes, I figured it out this morning too, its due to the split function. So I did this to fix it. Thanks!!! outputFC = output+layer.split('\\')[-1] arcpy.Select_analysis(layer, outputFC, SQLs[Layers_To_Search.index(layer)]) I too was having this exact problem, and I found it related to the string split I was doing. Try replacing your .split call with os.path.split. Kelley

Hi everyone, So I am publishing my own python script as a geoprocessing service, it keeps telling me the data source is used by the script is not registered with the server: \...\default.gdb. The strange part is that my script is not using default.gdb at all. Attached is the python script. It searches on multiple layers and wraps all the layers in one zipped folder. Thanks! Dan

Thanks a lot. I have looked at the thread you sent. If it was from 10.1 to 10.2, I assume I do not need to republish everything ,right? since major changes occurred at 10.1. Dan Here is the answer to your question: Services are not automatically migrated from version 10.0 to later versions. The migration path for these services is to re-create them using the newer version. Source: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//0154000002p0000000 I'd recommend opening your 10.0 MXDs and performing a Save As to get them into a 10.2 MXD using a 10.2 ArcGIS Desktop client. From there, you can re-publish them. Make sure you register the data store(s) behind all of your MXDs with ArcGIS Server BEFORE publishing; otherwise server will attempt to make a copy of the data and ship it up to the server as local data.

I am using the extract data task as a gp service in my web application following this example, https://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/jssamples/gp_clipasync.html . the only difference is that I am using my own gp service. However every time when I submit job in areas near central meridians, the job fails. I am thinking it has something to do with the cutting polygons behind the scenes. But if I am using the gp service from esri, it is working http://sampleserver4.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/HomelandSecurity/Incident_Data_Extraction/GPServer/Extract%20Data%20Task , But I am publishing my gp service using the default settings, am I missing something? Any suggestions for this issue? Thanks a lot! Dan

hey, did you get this problem solved? my problem is similar but a little bit different. If i dont click on the map, its working pretty well. but as long as i click an point on the map and turn off editor which is using destroy(), the console shows error "object layer layer1 has no method 'disconnect'",thanks. When I call destroy() and recreate after, got following error: Unable to draw graphic (geometry:null, symbol:null): Tried to register widget with id==templateDiv but that id is already registered.

Hey, it is normal, cuz the area of interest polygon is empty when you submit job in rest pages, so if you open that service in ArcServer insider of arcgis, and draw polygons on Arc Desktop, you would have the actually data in the zip file. Hope it helps, Dan Extract Data Geoprocessing Task delivers a zip file with a file GDB but the features won't display. Running the Geoprocessing task from the REST page I do "get a .zip file" that appears to have data, but the features won't display. When I create the geoprocessing service from the results in ArcMap 10.1, normally I would run this from the Geoportal Server 1.2.2 Download Tab web interface, but get the same result as when I run it from the REST page, everything appears to be great, - but when I extract the data.gdb from the ZIP file and add the data to ArcMap, - again everything appears to be fine and looks perfect in the TOC, except there are no features that will display. - It appears there is data in the GDB sent in the zip file Has anyone run into this issue, or have any helpful thoughts to share? :cool:

Got it, thanks for the help! No, there's no standard wildcard operator for numeric values. You'd need to play with modulus or casting functions, but that's really more appropriate for the RDBMS vendor's forums. - V

Hi all, Yes, when I tried something like >0 or between value range, it works, thanks for pointing out the precision issue . This raised up another question I have: What if I want to know if the shape.length() column contain certain numbers (e.g., 234). For strings, I can do fieldname Like '%234%',however, for numbers, it seems like no such function is available.... Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks! Dan
