When creating a database connection for PostgreSQL, the username field has a limit of 30 characters. This is particularly frustrating when trying to connect to PostgreSQL on Azure as the username format needs to be ‘user@host’. This limit needs to be increased or removed.

Thank you for your responses. The best solution I found was to query the index usage stats. I have pasted the SQL below. The main downside with this method is the value are reset if you reboot the server. Hope this helps. select [schema_name],
table_name,
PS.row_count AS TotalRowCount,
max(last_access) as last_access
from(
select schema_name(schema_id) as schema_name,
name as table_name,
(select max(last_access)
from (values(last_user_seek),
(last_user_scan),
(last_user_lookup),
(last_user_update)) as tmp(last_access))
as last_access
from sys.dm_db_index_usage_stats sta
join sys.objects obj
on obj.object_id = sta.object_id
and obj.type = 'U'
and sta.database_id = DB_ID()
) usage
JOIN sys.dm_db_partition_stats PS ON OBJECT_NAME(PS.object_id) = table_name
where schema_name NOT LIKE 'sde'
group by schema_name,
table_name,
PS.row_count

When publishing multilayer map or feature servics they generate a single item in Portal. This improves the user experience by essentially createing "grouped" layers. However, this impacts of the discoverability of the layers winthin these services. There is the option to manually turn individual feature layers into items (FAQ—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation) but it is cumbersome. I would like to see an option at the point of publishing to turn these layers into items. This would be on a per layer basis with the option to select all.

Hi Andrew Whitman, I found this in an FAQ while I was scouring Google which is what I am aiming for: How do I save an individual feature layer as an item? To save an individual feature layer from a multilayer feature layer, complete the following steps: Open the item page of the multilayer feature layer and go to the Visualization tab. Choose the layer you want to save from the Layer drop-down menu. Click Save as new layer to save a copy of the layer as a new item in My Content. Type a title, tags, and a summary, and optionally choose a different folder to save the layer. Select to create the new item with Just the current layer and click Save. This is a manual process though and I was hoping there would be an option at the point of publishing to create seperate items from multilayer map/feature layers. If not then a option in portal or even a python script. I can add that to the ideas pages as you suggested. Grouping layer in the portal Map Viewer has been a long time coming. The link you posted is 6 years old. Publising a multilayer map/feature services creates "groups" in a sence which improves the user expereince but you lose the discoverability of these layer in portal. This is the basis for my question.

Hello, Currently I publish web feature service which contain all the related layers. This creates an single item in portal which lists all the layers and their service URL. I would now like to seperate these layers out into their own items in portal. Is there a way to do with automatically or does it have to be done manually? The reason I am asking is this method simplifies publishing, looks neater in the legend (Until group layers are available) and enables these to documented and searchable. Thank you, David

Hi GeoNet'ers, I am performing an audit of our enterprise database as part of a wider GIS Data Strategy. I am trying to ascertain a last accessed/used date for all the feature classes stored within the Geodatabase. The plan is to archive or delete feature classes that aren't been used then create or update metadata on the rest. If there are no options in the geodatabase, it is built on SQL Server 2012 which may have some facility. Thanks, David

I would like to see this extended to all elements that use grouped values. Selecting a wedge in a pie chart or a column in a serial chart should pan and zoom the map to those selected grouped features. This is particularly useful when you're grouping by a common location value like ward or district.

The solution i devised was to create a dummy tile service for my area of interest at all required scales. I did this by publishing the feature service but not generating any tiles. I then added this feature service in Map Viewer first and added the two other feature services on top. It seems to work ok.

Hi Robert Scheitlin, GISP. Thank you for your response. Is there any method to add custom css to pop-ups. I am particularly interested in data-driven styling which would require me to include style tags. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Hi Geonet'ers, I am trying to configure my popups with custom HTML/CSS using bootstrap. The main reason is to drive the pop-up style from the map attributes and to look cool. I have already written the HTML/CSS but when I add it to the popup in AGOL it strips the style and script tags. I am not familiar with Web AppBuilder (Developers Edition) or the anatomy of the apps but I know this type of customisation should occur here. Can anyone help? Is this possible? If so, where do I configure it? Thanks, David

Is there a way of updating the tile scheme with re-publishing? Alternatively, can I build an empty basemap with the projection and tile scheme to use a framework for the other basemaps?

Hi GeoNet, I am trying to build a custom multilayer basemap consisting of two hosted tile layers. One is large scale (1:400 to 1:5000) showing detailed building outlines and the other is small scale showing generalised features (1:2500 - 1:5000000). The problem I have is I cannot get the map viewer to respect the zoom levels for both layers. Depending on which layer I add first, that layer's zoom levels take precedence, i.e. If I add the small scale map first I can't zoom past 1:2500, even if both layers have been moved to basemap. I have tired this in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer and by publishing from ArcGIS Pro. I would to accomplish this without code. Thank you, David McDermott
