We're now on 10.6.1 and I created an Ops Dashboard(OD) using some gauges and even a map (tied to a map service hosted through Portal). None of the widgets refresh against the services. I've republished, made a map refresh interval 0.1, but nothing appears to work. From what I can tell this has been an issue for a while. I've added filters and even new geometry to see if a non-filtered gauge would increase. From what I read the desktop OD works with a refresh, but not the server hosted? Can someone provide either a solution or clarity on this topic? Thank you, Daniel

I recently upgraded to 10.4.1 and switched over to Portal for ArcGIS. Our ArcGIS Server is federated with the Portal and users are able to take advantage of Single Sign-On through the browser. Now I'm wanted to move from the Traditional User Store to the Portal User Store. Initially through the Workflow Manager Administrator when I switched it would show the page for ArcGIS Online (to sign-in). I then added my Portal through the ArcGIS Administrator with no warnings or errors. Now when I go to change from Traditional to Portal, it toggles back to Traditional as soon as I click Portal. I checked the ArcGIS Connection software, it will shows as connected, but it appears to timeout then shows that's it's "Not currently signed in." I ran the connection test here are the results: Proxy Server Test - Passed No proxy server. Download Speed Test - Failed Test site unreachable. Network Latency Test - Undetermined Reason Unknown. Network Route Test - Failed Reason Unknown. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thank you, Daniel

The issue is resolved. Originally we were attempting to define a different name for the adaptor (to have multiple). Even after registering the adaptor through the console it did not take. We changed it back to the default name and it worked. Adam, we were setting it up as a multiple server deployment, one for Portal and one for AGS. We ended up moving the Portal to the same server as AGS. Thank you, Daniel

Yes, attempted through Chrome and IE and yes we're accessing it through the web adaptor.

We're using a multiple machine deployment. Our ArcGIS Server is on it's own server and Portal and the Web Adaptor are on another. Everything appears to have installed correctly; meaning no warnings or errors and we can see both the Portal and Web Adaptor pages, but after creating the site and admin account it prompts me to create or join an existing page when signing in. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestions and information on this topic. There was no way to create a version as another OS user so I ended up writing a couple of different scripts to tackle the issue a another way. The first script will get a list of current versions, filter it by owner, generate a CSV file, and then email the file to the original version owner. The second script will be ran by the end user to process the CSV provided. Quick and dirty, but it works. # ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Create Version from CSV file
# Created on: 2015-10-21 by Daniel Johns
# Description: Processes a CSV file (list) and creates a version for each row provided.
# ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Import arcpy module
import arcpy
import csv
# Static path to workspace and parent version
inWorkspace = "Path to Workspace i.e C:\\Connections\\DB.sde"
parentVersion = "dbo.DEFAULT"
# Path to CSV (set up as script parameter)
csvFile = arcpy.GetParameterAsText(0)
f = open(csvFile, "r")
lines = f.read().split("\n")
# Capitalizes and processes each row provided (creates the version)
for line in lines:
if line != "":
val = line.split(",")
val =[x.upper() for x in val]
val = str(val).replace("['","").replace("']","")
print "Creating version for " + val
versionName = val
arcpy.CreateVersion_management(inWorkspace, parentVersion, versionName, "PUBLIC")
print "Created."
print "Finished"

Thanks Josh, that could also be considered. I may just process a CSV list and use it as an input parameter for a script that the user will need to run instead of a scheduled task.

Thank you but that will not be an option. The Create Version tool will set the owner as the OSA login (matching the SDE connection file). I would either have to default back to DB logins or find some type of way to override the version owner to match the OSA login name. I'm looking around now to see if there is a way to change the owner of a version once created. Worse case I'll let my python script run monthly and email them a list of the jobs that they'll need the versions recreated.

Is it possible to create a version for another OS user? We use the Workflow Manager to manage our jobs and the technicians are the ones who create the jobs and it's based off their Operating System account ("DOMAIN\ABC123") and we use fingerprint readers. When I'm performing maintenance I remove all versions to obtain a State 0 compression. After this the user must go back in and recreate versions for any open jobs. I would like to automatic if possible. I know the OS names for those users and the versions that need to be recreated, but if I use the GUI it will default to my OS account. I'm thinking Python would be the best way to conquer this, any suggestions? Thank you.

Workflow Manager provides a step to create a Reviewer Session, but not to delete one. I've added a custom step (using version 10.3) and I'm attempting to call the ArcToolbox tool Delete Session (from the Data Reviewer toolset). When it reaches the step in the workflow it's not able see the extension's license. I've tried adding /license datareviewer to the arguments, but it's not working. Has anyone successfully implemented a step for deleting a session in Workflow Manager?

10.3. I ended up opening a ticket with support. I was finally able to get it to remove a session, but I had to use the GUI to set a version to a session, go into ArcCatalog and run the Delete Session tool. It took over 7 minutes to complete, but there has to be a faster way.

We have some Data Reviewer Sessions, probably well over 100 that need to be deleted. The problem is the version that is tied to the session no longer exists, so the toolbox script is unable to delete the session. I've tried launching the Data Reviewer window and setting the session's version to a different one and the delete tool will not finish. Does anyone know of a way to remove the old sessions? Thank you, Daniel
