Hi @Angiex__1 Do you have an entry for ArcGIS Production Mapping 3.1.0.1 Pro Product Files in the Installed apps on your Windows 11 machine? Please see screenshot below: If yes, did the product files get installed to C:\Angie\Documents\Data or C:\Users\Public\Documents\ArcGIS Production Mapping or somewhere else? Regards, Dan

Hi @Angiex__1 Thank you for responding and answering my questions. I have installed ArcGIS Pro 3.1 and I have run the following: msiexec.exe /i "C:\Users\user01\Documents\ArcGIS Pro 3.1.0.1\ProProdMapProdData\ProProductionMappingProductData.msi" INSTALLDIR="C:\Angie\Documents\Data" /qb ArcGIS Production Mapping product files is installed to C:\Angie\Documents\Data I cannot reproduce your issue. I am installing the software on a Windows 10 22H2 machine. I noticed from your screenshot that you are on Windows 11. So, I tested on a Windows 11 23H2 machine and I did not encounter any issues. Can you please answer the following: 1. After attempting to install the software, is there an entry in your Installed apps for ArcGIS Production Mapping 3.1.0.1 Pro Product Files? If yes, uninstall ArcGIS Production Mapping 3.1.0.1 Pro Product Files. 2. What happens if you install ArcGIS Production Mapping 3.1.0.1 Pro Product Files through the UI and change the default install location to C:\Angie\Documents\Data? 3. Can you create a test .txt file at C:\Angie\Documents\Data? Regards, Dan

Hi @Angiex__1 I am sorry you are encountering issues with the ArcGIS Production Mapping Product Data for ArcGIS Pro installer. I am running ArcGIS Pro 3.2.1. I am installing the ArcGIS Production Mapping Product Data for ArcGIS Pro 3.2. Below is my command line parameters: msiexec.exe /i "C:\Users\user01\Documents\ArcGIS Pro 3.2\ProProdMapProdData\ProProductionMappingProductData.msi" INSTALLDIR="c:\temp" /qb The product files are installed at the custom location at C:/temp rather than the default location of C:\Users\Public\Documents. This is what I expect. Can you please answer the following: 1. What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using? 2. What is your INSTALLDIR set to? 3. If the files are not getting installed in the desired folder location, where are they getting installed? Are they getting installed in the default location? I hope to hear from you. Regards, Dan

Hi @Ivy_Hinson One way to use dynamic text in a map series is to create neighbor labels. These are labels on a page that show the page name of pages to the left, right, above, or below the current page. Neighbor labels are often used when creating a grid index map series or strip map series. To add these labels, you need fields in your map series index feature containing the information on neighboring pages. Use the Calculate Adjacent Fields geoprocessing tool to create and populate fields to label neighboring pages. For more information, please see the following web-help topic https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/layouts/use-dynamic-text-with-map-series.htm Regards, Dan

Hi @TJM When you go to Licensing -> Configure your licensing options and the Licensing dialog is launched, have you checked on/enabled the Defense Mapping extension? You might have to exit ArcGIS Pro and launch ArcGIS Pro for the change to take affect. Regards, Dan

Hi MAMDOUHZALAKY, Experiment on a copy of your MXD and try the following: 1. Open the MXD. 2. Launch the Python window and add and execute the following: import arcpy
mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument("CURRENT")
for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListLayers(mxd):
if lyr.supports("DEFINITIONQUERY"):
lyr.definitionQuery = "INSERT_YOUR_DQ_HERE" The code above will set the Definition Query (DQ) for standalone layers, layers within a group, and to layers that are within a group that is within a group in the ArcMap TOC. The limitation with the code above is that it will set the DQ to [PARCEL_ID] = '7' for a layer when the field [PARCEL_ID] and the value 7 do not exist for that layer. When that happens, when you refresh your map after running the code above, you will encounter an ArcMap Drawing Errors dialog that will display something like the following: One or more layers failed to draw: LAYERNAME: An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly. [LAYERNAME] LAYERNAME: An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly. When you encounter the error above, you will have to remove the DQ for that layer using the Layer Properties dialog and Definition Query tab. Regards, Dan

Hi Mason, I do not have access to the course material and I am running ArcGIS Pro 3.1.3, but, I will try and help. Have you created a folder connection to the folder that contains the shapefile? In the Catalog pane, click on the Project tab, and right-click the Folders node and select Add Folder Connection. If you have created a folder connection, in the Catalog pane, click on the Project tab, expand the Folders node, right-click on the folder connection and select Refresh. Does the buildings shapefile appear? If the shapefile does not appear, is your shapefile valid? In File Explorer, navigate to the folder that contains your buildings shapefile. Do you see the following: - buildings.cpg, buildings.dbf, buildings.prj, buildings.shp, buildings.shp.xml, and a buildings.shx Regards, Dan

Hi Keith, If you launch the Properties of the Legend and expand 'Synchronize with map' you will see that New layer is enabled (i.e. checked on). A new item is added to the legend when a new layer is added to the map. This is on by default. If you disable (i.e. check off) New layer, new items added to the map will not be added to the Legend. Interactions between the legend and the map are talked about in the following web-help topic link below: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/layouts/work-with-a-legend.htm# I hope the above helps. Regards, Dan
