Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to somehow load feature layer from REST (like: http://sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Petroleum/KGS_OilGasFields_Kansas/MapServer/0) to ArcMap? No need to edit that layer, we just need to select data from it and then create a local FeatureClass. I want to know if it is possible to add data through URL, without providing any login information (like when we add layer to map in JavaScript API by providing only layer's url).

setting PrintTemplate.showAttribution = false will remove the copyright information from the printout, but be warned that data vendors don't typically want you distributing prints without this info. That worked! Thanks

I'm using PrintTask to get my map in JPG format and everything goes ok, except if any of services, loaded on map, have some copyright text, that text is being added at the bottom right corner of JPG. I'm using MAP_ONLY template. I have full control of application and Export Web Map task server. Services are hosted elsewhere and I can't modify their properties. I need to get rid of those copyright texts in JPG. Tried to use layoutOptions hoping it would replace service's copyright, but had no luck with that. As I reduce DPI parameter, the copyright text becomes smaller, but it affects image quality so it's not a solution. Printing function code below: var url ='https://my.domain.com/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export Web Map Task'; var template = new esri.tasks.PrintTemplate(); template.exportOptions = { width: 500, height: 530, dpi: 200 }; template.format = "JPG"; template.layoutTemplate = "MAP_ONLY"; template.preserveScale = false; template.layoutOptions = { 'copyright' : 'better this text, than from service...' }; var printTask = new esri.tasks.PrintTask(url); var printResult = function(result){ /* outputs link to download JPG */ }; var params = new esri.tasks.PrintParameters(); params.map = map; params.template = template; printTask.execute(params, printResult); Attached a resulting JPG.

Fixed it. Looks like it was getting proxy generated layers urls which only works in map application server and printing is being executed on another server, so it was not able to reach those services that way. Got rid of proxy and it works as expected 🙂

are your basemap and service layers publicly accessible? Yes, they are publicly accessible.

I'm using Esri.dijit.Print to print a map with MAP_ONLY template. In the generated PDF only map graphics (Esri.graphics) are visible. Basemap and service layers (loaded on map in webapp) are not visible. Browsers not throwing any errors... Any suggestions?

I've found the answer: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/64477/arcgis-javascript-api-filter-raster-dataset var mr = new esri.layers.MosaicRule(); mr.method = esri.layers.MosaicRule.METHOD_CENTER; mr.ascending = true; mr.operation = esri.layers.MosaicRule.OPERATION_FIRST; mr.where = "NAME = '" + rasterName + "'"; ArcGISImageServiceLayer.setMosaicRule(mr)

I have around 1000 rasters (b&w tiffs) and most of them overlay each other. At this moment, I'm holding them in mosaic dataset and I want them to be displayed in my javascript webapp. I am able to load it as Dynamic or Image service layer and it loads all the rasters at once. In screenshot below, mosaic's attribute table has field "Name" in which names of all the rasters are held (all names are unique to only one raster). In my webapp, I want to dynamically show only one raster by specifying its name. Part of mosaic: http://i.imgur.com/RB2zl52.jpg In arcmap I can use layer's definition query to select only particular raster (screenshot below). Filtered by definition query: http://i.imgur.com/XDkFl8y.jpg What would be the appropriate approach to have dataset filtered in webapp?

Figured it out. It was a license binding issue. I was using: ESRI.ArcGIS.RuntimeManager.BindLicense(ProductCode.Desktop) instead of: ESRI.ArcGIS.RuntimeManager.BindLicense(ProductCode.Desktop, LicenseLevel.GeodatabaseUpdate)

I'm trying to add new feature to file GDB feature class and keep getting this error: Objects in this class cannot be updated outside an edit session. Feature class has attachments enabled (exists relationships). Googled alot about this problem and still can't figure it out. FYI I'm developing a standalone application. Any thougts? My code:
Public Shared Sub CreateFeature(ByVal workspace As IWorkspace, ByVal featureClass As IFeatureClass, ByVal point As ArcGIS.Geometry.IPoint, ByVal data As String) Dim workspaceEdit As IWorkspaceEdit = CType(workspace, IWorkspaceEdit) workspaceEdit.StartEditing(True) workspaceEdit.StartEditOperation() Dim featureBuffer As IFeatureBuffer = featureClass.CreateFeatureBuffer() Dim featureCursor As IFeatureCursor = featureClass.Insert(True) Dim featureOID As Object featureBuffer.Value(featureBuffer.Fields.FindField("Data")) = data featureBuffer.Shape = point featureOID = featureCursor.InsertFeature(featureBuffer) featureCursor.Flush() workspaceEdit.StopEditOperation() workspaceEdit.StopEditing(True) End Sub
Thanks in advance 🙂
