Hi Fouly, Your symptoms sound exactly the same as mine. It works in ArcMap but not in the service. And it seems to be intermittent. My guess is that the ??None of the processes ready to run.? message is still the hint that I would pay attention to. I am guessing that the process really can??t find the inputs. Let me know if Service Pack 2 solves the problem. If not, the I would look for a permissions problem. The geoprocessing service runs using the account ArcGISSOC and I think the folder for your database must set permissions for this account. Keep me posted, I??m curious. Charles

Hi Ravi, I did solve my problem. The error message "none of the processes are ready to run" occurs when an input to the geoprocess is not available. In my case the input in question were various databases. Local databases worked but databases on a network drive didn??t work because the geoprocess didn??t have permissions to access the network drive. I could access the network drive while running the tool in ArcMap because I was logged on as administrator. But the geoprocess runs as ArcGISSOC and I had to create a ArcGISSOC windows account on the file server machine and give this account permissions to the folder. Both the inputs not ready and the permissions are documented in the Esri pages but only a sentence or two for each in all of their documentation so it is not something you might notice. In another case, a database was locked by another process. Even with permissions this didn??t work until the lock was released. In my case, the database was locked due to a different ArcGIS problem which I haven??t solved yet. Thanks for the help. Charles

You may not have the exact same problem, but I would guess the message is a result of some input not available. Let me know if there is anything else I can tell you and / or post your solution here after you figuer it out to help the next person. Charles

More information - The input to the geoprocess is a database. It works with some databases and I get the error message with other databases. All the databases are Access / Personal Geodatabases.

Hi all, I am unable to get a ResultImageLayer. I can get a GPFeatureRecordSetLayer using ResultData and add the feature geometries individually. I am using ArcServer 10.1 so it is not a pre-release problem. I can see the map service that accompanies the geoprocessing service and the legend / symbology in this map service. I am doing this with the JavaScriptAPI. Using Firefox I see a ???500 Internal Server Error??? but there is no other messages. Could be as simple as my call: gp2.getResultImageLayer(jobInfo.jobId, "Test01", imageParameters, addGPServiceResult2, errorProcessing) function addGPServiceResult2(gpImageLayer) { map.addLayer(gpImageLayer); } I???m not sure what the ParameterName ???Test01??? should refer to although I???ve tried ever possibility that seemed reasonable. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charles

Hi Frank, Thanks for the reply. I want to publish the tool as a geoprocessing service and so I want to have a string input parameter with the path and name of a personal database on our ArcServer. Does this make sense? Charles
