Rob, Were you able to get this processor working? If so would it be something you would be willing to share? Chris

Is there a way to force the MapTip to display? I tried looking for an IsOpen property or something similar but it doesnt appear to exist. What i'm looking for, I'm querying the map based on a cursor hover to a layer that is not currently added to the map. The query processes and the graphic is added to the map with a MapTip configured, however without moving the cursor the MapTip will not display. I would like to just force the maptip to display when the layer is displayed on the map. Once the cursor is moved out of the graphic the graphic is cleared so i'm not worried about multiple tips being displayed. Any ideas?? Thanks, Chris

Nope, with this current release its not possible. Its a very disappointing restriction of the software. I have talked to ESRI and its just not supported and there is no word when it will be. Seems like something that should have been there to me. I'm trying to do the same setup as you. Best answers were manage two portals, one inside (private) and one outside (public) the firewall, or use portal inside and ArcGIS Online for outside, (still managing two things). Or what we are doing just have the web adapter outside. Not what we want but only way to get where we need to be... Chris

Can someone point me in the right direction for the Operations Dashboard that works with Portal for ArcGIS @ 10.2? According to the help documentation the app is supposed to be "The Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS installer setup is included in your Portal for ArcGIS download." That is from the help docs located http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//017s0000006z000000 However looking at the download and then again back at the customer care site to see if I missed it I cant seem to find the download. The version thats located here, http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=ba47e0bf6cb84a6e9f77e9caf86b88eb is still the version from March with doesnt seem to support anything but ArcGIS Online. Am I missing something? Or is it just not released yet and the help docs are incorrect? Chris

At the UC this year the SSO was shown with 10.2. Reading the docs it sounds like this cant be accomplished in a "mixed" mode Identity store. Can I have my users coming from LDAP and my roles from the built-in? In trying to get this work it seems like i have a disconnect between my web adapters and the site. Thanks, Chris

Does anyone know any more about this issue? Has ESRI addressed this at all?? Trying to sign in to arcgis server for secure services doesn't work at all. Enter username and password the dialog box flashes and does nothing, it doesn't matter if you put incorrect login information or correct information in. Chris

You will want you make your symbol marker look something like this. <esri:MarkerSymbol x:Key="SymbolIDName" OffsetX="15" OffsetY="28">
<esri:MarkerSymbol.ControlTemplate>
<ControlTemplate>
<Canvas Width="35" Height="35">
<Image Source="ImageSource" Width="30" Height="30"/>
<TextBlock Foreground="White" Canvas.Top="-8.5" Canvas.Left="22" Text="{Binding Attributes[LabelAttribute]}" />
</Canvas>
</ControlTemplate>
</esri:MarkerSymbol.ControlTemplate>
</esri:MarkerSymbol> If you don't want to use an Image just replace that code with whatever element you want. If you want a box around the text, enclose it in a border with a background. The line pointing to the point can be done it could be a bit difficult to get it to look right. Just included it inside the canvas control and you should be set. Hope this helps. Chris

I think the way you are doing it is probably the best solution. I took a look at the code for the featuredatagrid to see about adding a property to allow the user to show/hide the objectid by a setting in xaml. I found something interesting it doesnt seem like the objectid ever makes it to the Column AutoGeneration. Im not sure if this is on purpose it would be interesting to have someone from ESRI comment on this. From what I can tell the OBJECTID is being filtered out of the list of fields if you use AutoGenerateColumns. I thought this was because of the code posted earlier in this thread but after some testing I dont ever see the OBJECTID field come through the OnAutoGeneratingColumn sub... Its possible its a bug but the filtering seems to take place before the featuredatagrid is loaded, its interesting they check for the field but its never loaded... I tired to find the filtering by looking for code looking at the LayerInfo.ObjectIdField but I dont see anything in the toolkit source code. Must happen some where else in the base code. Sorry for the rambling, it would be easy to add a property to be able to set if the objectid should be hidden or not. Maybe in the next release this can be cleared up... Chris

I am finding the same issue and wanted to know if you found a solution? After much testing I have determined that ArcGIS for Server 10.1 has two spatial refs listed, in my case 2244 and 2965, where 10.0 only has 2965. Researching these they are the same coordinate system one just being older than the other. I'm pretty confident that this is the issue with displaying two services from the 10.1 and 10.0 together. If I set the SR on the map control depending on which I use I only get the service that matches. So if I use 2244 I only see the 10.1 services and if I use 2965 I only see the 10.0 services. Both of these map services are built with the same data and same spatial ref from the beginning so I'm not sure why 10.1 is giving me this extra SR WKID? Does anyone know of a work around?? Chris

You can go ahead and leave the "*" in place on your layer. The OBJECTID field is ignored if you let the data grid AutoGenerate the Columns. If you want to continue to see all the fields plus the OBJECTID field leave AutoGenerateColumns = True and add the OBJECTID manually. Or you can add all the fields you would like to see and turn off the AutoGenerateColumns. Here is the code to be able to do that. Add the following to the top: xmlns:sdk="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation/sdk" And Edit your FeatureDataGrid as follows: <esri:FeatureDataGrid Grid.Row="3" Grid.ColumnSpan="3" x:Name="MyDataGrid" Map="{Binding ElementName=MyMap}" MaxHeight="400" AutoGenerateColumns="True" GraphicsLayer="{Binding Layers.[MyFeatureLayer], ElementName=MyMap}" > <esri:FeatureDataGrid.Columns> <sdk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding OBJECTID}" Width="Auto" Header="Object ID"/> </esri:FeatureDataGrid.Columns> </esri:FeatureDataGrid> If you want to add other fields just continue to add: <sdk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding OBJECTID}" Width="Auto" Header="Object ID"/> Binding to the field from your data source. You can add other field types to your datagrid in this same manner. You can add a DataGridCheckBoxColumn and a DataGridTemplateColumn. Hope this helps. Chris

Looks like its build in the toolkit to not show the ObjectId field if the "*" is used. I see this line of code in the toolkit source code. // Don't show object id field.
if (featureLayer.LayerInfo.ObjectIdField == mappedKey)
{
e.Cancel = true;
return;
} If you want the ObjectId to show specifically add the fields to your OutFields List. Chris

Downloading the toolkit source I changed this section of code: void DispatcherTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (startTime != null && (DateTime.Now.Ticks - startTime.Ticks) >= 500)
{
throttler.Stop();
// Synchronizing selections in current DataGrid's page and the associated GraphicsLayer:
RestorePreviousSelection(GraphicsLayer.SelectedGraphics);
}
} To this and my issue went away. This is in the FeatureDataGrid.Silverlight.cs file. void DispatcherTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (startTime != null && (DateTime.Now.Ticks - startTime.Ticks) >= 500)
{
throttler.Stop();
// Synchronizing selections in current DataGrid's page and the associated GraphicsLayer:
if (GraphicsLayer != null)
RestorePreviousSelection(GraphicsLayer.SelectedGraphics);
}
}

I am also seeing a bug with the feature data grid. It seems similar to AnastasiaAourik is talking about, however I think the issue has to do with the "throttler" Dispatch Timer that was added. I think the issue is in the code below: void DispatcherTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (startTime != null && (DateTime.Now.Ticks - startTime.Ticks) >= 500) { throttler.Stop(); // Synchronizing selections in current DataGrid's page and the associated GraphicsLayer: RestorePreviousSelection(GraphicsLayer.SelectedGraphics); } } I think the issue is if the GraphicsLayer has been cleared the process is throwing a null ref exception. I could be wrong, but this is where I'm getting an error and it has to do with a null ref exception in the DispatcherTimer_Tick event right after I clear the graphics layer that is bound to the grid. Philip I'm in the same boat I thought I was writing my own measure tool but without a way to capture the first vertex I have not found a way to get a length of that first segment... Any ideas on a work around before the next API release would be helpful! The measure behavior isn't sufficient enough, if there was a way to capture the lengths from that utility it would be much more helpful. Maybe that's something that could be worked on also! Chris Thanks Jennifer, knowing that VertexAdded not firing is recognized as a bug and will be fixed at a future release may be sufficient for my needs. You mention "write your own Measure tool using Draw." I thought that's what I was doing - following the Utilities/Line Lengths sample but being hampered by the VertexAdded event not firing on the first map click. Did you mean something else?
