Thanks, George. Is there a workflow for regular updates that avoids Pro, e.g. Online Notebook?

We're creating an Experience Builder map using data from a managed Azure SQL database that's regularly updated. Is there a way to use this data source through a direct connection? And, if not, what's the recommended data import/synchronization workflow? I do see that ArcGIS Pro 3.1 does support Azure SQL Managed Instances (https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/system-requirements/latest/windows/databases-in-the-cloud.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_7C4A982A87794DDFB8761322B7004AFA). Can a map service be published from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Online using Azure SQL as a data source? Thanks for your help, Eric

I'm looking for the same functionality. Dan's suggestion, which I've tried, doesn't work for multidimensional rasters. Anyone got a solution?

Hmmm...and I guess there's no way to replicate this functionality in ExB?

Perfect! I don't know Dashboards well, so I didn't know that was part of the Dashboard toolset. I see it now at https://doc.arcgis.com/en/dashboards/latest/create-and-share/selectors.htm Thanks Grant!

I'd like to replicate the slider filter functionality in this example: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/2e3610d731cb4cfcbcec9e2dcb83fc94 (slider filters are along left side of the map). This allows for quickly setting thresholds for multiple attributes/criteria quickly and intuitively. I've looked everywhere in the stock experience builder and can't find it, but I also can't find evidence that it's a custom widget. Anyone know to create/replicate? Thanks, Eric

I'm experimenting with gradient strokes for area boundaries following John Nelson's guide (Boundary Dropshadow Mega-Hack ) and while everything looks great in ArcGIS Pro, the output (this is for a print publication) is unusable. Here's what the boundary looks like in ArcGIS Pro: Here's what the boundary looks like in a PDF file (viewed at 400%): I get the same PDF output using default (mix vector/raster) and "Output As Image" (raster only) options for the PDF export. Same for PNG exports. Anyone have suggestions for fixing this for a professional output format? Thanks, Eric

Josh, Thanks for the close read of the code. Yes, you're right, it shouldn't ever be more than 1. This was my first attempt at a cursor with the added SQL clause. The first couple of iterations of the code was returning more than the first record and that's why I have so many debug messages and was concerned with the multiple DeedIDs in the message window -- at first glance, it looked like the "TOP 1" modifier wasn't working correctly. Thanks for the response Josh-- Even if I assume a non-ordered processing in the table rows by the cursor, the AddMessage messages still aren't in the correct order. In the message window above, multiple DeedIDs are displayed one after the other, which can only happen if CURSOR2 returns more than one record. This would lead to the J counter being larger than 1 which it isn't. Still must be some problem with AddMessage queue....

Anyone encountered the message queue getting out of sequence (at least in the Python toolbox results window) on a large process? I'm running a long Python process -- looping through ~300,000 rows -- and getting messages (used for debugging) that are clearly out of sequence. Or, I've completely lost sight of how Python loops work. Any insights? Eric The message window (near the end of the process): The Python loop: # loop through all parcels
sql = "PropertyID IS NOT NULL"
with arcpy.da.UpdateCursor(parcel_fc,parcel_fields,sql) as cursor:
i = 0
for row in cursor:
propertyID = row[0]
sql = "PropertyID = "+str(propertyID)
arcpy.AddMessage("SQL = "+sql)
# select related records in deeds table, take only 1st result
with arcpy.da.SearchCursor(deed_tbl,deed_fields,sql,sql_clause=("TOP 1","ORDER BY DeedDate DESC")) as cursor2:
j = 0
for row2 in cursor2:
arcpy.AddMessage("DeedID = "+str(row2[1])+", DeedDate = "+str(row2[2]))
row[1] = row2[1]
row[2] = row2[2]
row[3] = row2[3]
cursor.updateRow(row)
j += 1
arcpy.AddMessage("Rows found = "+str(j))
if j > 1:
arcpy.AddMessage("Found more than one deed")
sys.exit(0)
i += 1
#if i > 1000:
# arcpy.AddMessage("Rows updated ="+str(i))
# sys.exit(0)
arcpy.AddMessage("Rows updated ="+str(i))
arcpy.AddMessage("AddLatestDeed.py finished")

We're running into the same problem. Where's the geoevent documentation? We've found this, but nowhere can we find the details on how the inputs for each connector need to be formatted. Frustrating... Eric

Hello all, I am working on a project that requires me to experiment with using a shapefile, that is featured as point data, to select objects in another shapefile, that is featured as polygon data. The overall goal is to select a particular point, which highlights data that correlates with that point in another shapefile. I don't know whether this can be done in arcmap, or after the map is published or if i need to run a python script, or something. Any thoughts on this project is appreciated.

I need to add a label/description to the right of a symbol in a ESRI legend. I've add a description and label to the map service, but the legend widget doesn't pick that up (see attached image). Need to add "Individual projects" next to the small circle. Any suggestions? Solutions? Thanks, Eric

I am using the ClassBreaksRenderer (which overrides the MXD legend), so I do need to set this programmatically (to be honest, I didn't know that the dijit legend widget would honor those formatting settings, so thanks Zach for adding that bit of knowledge). Jason, I will try your code -- I do want more control over how the legend is formatted, so this will be really helpful. I did find in the meantime that the addBreak method does allow you to add a custom text label (see https://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/jsapi/classbreaksrenderer-amd.html#addbreak), so that's yet another way of formatting the label. Thank you both for the help! Eric

Anyone figured out a way to customize the way numbers are formatted in the dijit legend widget? Instead of: 500000 - 1000000 I'd like to customize the formatting like you can in desktop to improve legibility: 500,000 - 1,000,000 500k - 1,000k $500,000 - $1,000,000 Haven't found any solutions out there yet -- appreciate any help. Thanks, Eric
