Hi Don, I'm a newbie with python, and I'm not sure what you mean "dump out the value of 'db99_sde," I am attempting to schedule this as a windows task on Server 2019. The code works from the ArcGIS Python command prompt on desktop, and from inside a project, but dies with the shown error on the server. The error occurs on a arcpy.management.MakeQueryLayer. My thinking is there is an issue with the unc path. Our network team has me signing-on the server as myself, but running the job as a domain user.

Pro Version 3.1.1 ArcGIS Server 11.1 Using propy.bat the following code runs on my desktop without a hitch. When trying to run on Server it errors out with attached error. For the life of me I can't figure why. Any insights would be appreciated! # Imports import os import arcpy from arcgis.gis import GIS from arcgis.features import FeatureLayer from arcgis.features import FeatureLayerCollection from datetime import datetime # Define paths and files unc_path = r'\\abc.local\AdminData\GIS' root_path = os.path.join(unc_path, 'gis') data_path = os.path.join(root_path, 'Database') #project_path = os.path.join(root_path, "Projects", "Overnight", "overnight.aprx") project_path = os.path.join(root_path, "Projects", "Overnight", "overnightDEV.aprx") sdfile_path = os.path.join(root_path, "sdFiles") db99_sde = os.path.join(data_path,"db99.sde") gis_test = os.path.join(data_path,"gisTest.gdb") workspace = os.path.join(data_path, 'Workspace.gdb') behaviorNoOSS = os.path.join(campus_sde, "dbo.NoOss") behaviorNoInc = os.path.join(campus_sde, "dbo.NoInc") # other setup arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True gis = GIS("https://servername.abc.local/portal", username="admin", password="adminPassword") wksp = arcpy.EnvManager(scratchWorkspace=workspace, workspace=workspace) shrOrg = True shrEveryone = False shrGroups = "" # Process: Make Query Layer (Make Query Layer) (management) student_temp = arcpy.management.MakeQueryLayer(input_database=db99_sde, out_layer_name="out_layer", query="select * from table", oid_fields=["id_number"])

Hi Jess, I've had some success with creating a relationship class on desktop then sharing/publishing the individual layers to portal/ago. On the dashboard side, the closest I've come is using a selector with categories set to "Features." [cid:image001.png@01D9824B.D8014420] Doing this has allowed me to define the actions appropriately, but the "Features" definition creates a selector value for every row in the feature service. I'm researching baseing the selector on a "Data Expression," and I've opened a case with Tech Support. I'll keep you posted. -Chris

Hi Jess, Did you ever get this to work? I'm trying to deploy a selector on the child table and have it affect other selectors and widgets on the dashboard. Thanks Chris

Hi, Using the ArcGIS API for Python I'm trying to create a script that overwrites, or re-publishes, the contents of a hosted feature service. Using ArcGIS Pro 3.1.1, Enterprise 11.0, and PostgreSQL 13.3 Here's my current script: from arcgis.gis import GIS from arcgis.features import FeatureLayer from arcgis.features import FeatureLayerCollectiongis = GIS("https://ourservername.abc.def/portal", username="username", password="password") postgres_fc = r"path to postgresql.sde\featureClass" hosted_fs = gis.content.get('feature service id') hosted_flc = FeatureLayerCollection.fromitem(hosted_fs) hosted_flc.manager.overwrite(postgres_fc) For the postgres_fc variable I've tried both a simple, and a fully qualified name (dbname.sde.featureName). When executed, the script returns "success,", and the timestamp on the hosted feature service is updated,. However the data is unaffected. Am I missing a step? Is the script completely off the mark? Any help will be greatly apreciated! Thanks -Chris

Michael, Thanks for the video. I'm having an issue in a Table widget where the source data download generates an error, the summarized data downloads fine. Any ideas to a cause/fix? Thanks Chris

I'm working with two polygon layers. The first is a zip code layer whose attributes contains the total number of households in the zip code. The second layer is smaller study areas. I have a memory from course work (possibly false) that their is a tool or tools which will allow me to approximate the number of households within each study area. For the life of me I can't remember the tool names. I've done some general searching, but thus far have come up empty. I'm hoping the community can point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help you can provide. Chris Kell

Thanks Joe! The reference data id is useful to join back to the address source to pull additional attribute data. I sure hope this functionality will be added in the future.
