Yes, more space was added, but no more logs showing. Portal starts but we cannot see any logs. And we still cannot access portal apart from ArcGIS server . Is there a way I can restart PostgresService within the portal or data store path? That is where I assume the issue is. " portal database cannot restart" Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you so much Elijah for this useful answer. I have a follow up question almost similar to this one. I recently failed to access Portal for ArcGIS then found that there were a space issue( disk space full) on the /home directory. Then saw this error under db.log " 2020-04-25 15:22:26 PDT: [12017]: PANIC: could not write to file "pg_xlog/xlogtemp.12017": No space left on device". We added additional storage and restarted the server however we couldn't still access portal for ArCGIS. I assumed the PANIC state had to shutdown the internal PostgreSQL database: my question is is there a way I can start it manually? From which path can I find the postgreSQL.service to stop and start it? (Restarting datastore did not help). Thank you for any hint on this.

Thank you Jonathan for your response. Yes, we checked in the db logs, and there was this error: 2020-04-25 15:22:26 PDT: [12017]: PANIC: could not write to file "pg_xlog/xlogtemp.12017": No space left on device. I assume this state made the postgreSQL database server to shut down. Now, I am lookong for a way to restart the postgreSQL service manually. How can I do it from Portal for ArcGIS? I tried to check the path portal/usr/arcgisportal/db... but could not find a solution.

Hello, I am looking for a solution for Portal for ArcGIS that is inaccessible. Recently we failed to access both ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS on the browser and we got an error saying that the disk space is almost full. We added more space to the /home directory. ArcGIS Server became now accessible however Portal for ArcGIS could still not be accessible.(Portal service is started). These are the portal logs error messages: My assumption is that maybe something got wrong in the internal database PostgreSQL for Portal ArcGIS, but I don't know how to access it. Note: After adding space, there were no more logs recorded even though there is still an error accessing Portal. Any idea on how we can solve that? Best regards, Celine.

Hello, I Once struggled to find how to add additional named users to Portal for ArcGIS in Linux and finally got it. I Thought it would be nice to share it here in case it will help someone. It's pretty simple; you just have to re authorise the licenses using a license file either .prvc or .ecp. ${HOME}/arcgis/portal/tools/authorizeSoftware -e {.ecp file} Authorizing Portal for ArcGIS—Portal for ArcGIS (10.6) | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise Note: you have to add all licenses into the new file, i.e: the new licenses with the already existing or authorized license, the reason is that when you re authorise, it overrides the existing ones. Best regards, Celine.

Thank you Amnoy, We finally tried to use an .ecp file, where we converted the .prvc file into a .ecp file using the Secure Site Operations from myEsri and it worked. It s very strange but we are greatful that it worked. Thank you, Celine.

Hello Griffin, I am back after that long. I am using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 on Linux. Redhat That time it finally work, but I am facing the same issue again, where the portal license expired, and I am trying to re authorize with a new .prvc license file(with new ECP code) However, when running /home/user/arcgis/portal/tools/authorizesoftware -f license.prvc (or -f license.prvc -e email) i get the error saying when I try to authorize it with a .json file for version 10.7 though my portal version is 10.6.1 it doesn't return any error but shows me the expiration date of the previous ecp file. Any help would be so much appreciated.

Alright I get you, I did and it is the Inner join that causes that error. How do we normally escalate to Esri ? Thanks, Celine

Thanks Michael, It's true Query layer does require simple queries without clauses like Inner Join. But when used with time slider ( for SQL Server case),it consider it as simple query than a complex one. And I cannot get rid of the Inner join and time slider since I want to create a dynamic map with data values that change with time. I join a shapefile with a standalone table.

Hello, I am trying to publish a query layer from ArcMap, however I keep getting en arror stating the Query has complex query. I have an Inner Join and Where clause in my Query layer. I am using time slider in my Query layer file. The database is Oracle 12 c. Note: I have been running the same king of QL in SQL Server and it works perfectly for different datasets. May you kindly advise me on what to do? Below is a screenshot of the error Regards, Celine

Hello , I have the following set up in my network. 1. ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS installed on a machine (A) with Linux OS 2.Oracle DB installed on another machine (B) with Linux OS as well 3. ArcGIS for Desktop installed on another machine (c) with Windows OS I have created the geodatabase in ArcGIS Desktop that connect to the Oracle DB on machine (B) and it worked. But, I am wondering if it is possible to add the ArcGIS Server connection from Desktop even if the DB is not installed on the same machine as ArcGIS Server. Will that work? Is it a possibility to have all the 3 installed on 3 different machines? Thank you,

Thank you Laurene for helping. Actually we decided to create a new VM with Windows pro 10 and Windows Server 2012 Datacenter, and the ArcGIS Desktop installation worked properly. We can't figure out why it cannot work with Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter. I now have a different follow up question. But I think I can create another post for it. Thank you, Celine

Hi Laurene, Sorry to delay, I couldn't access our customer server on weekend. Here are the screenshots of taken from the machine on which the installer failed. From the control panel From the program files We did a test and created another virtual machine and installed another version of windows (windows 10 pro) and strangely, the installation perfectly worked. Hence, it may be related to Windows server 2012 R2 Best regards, Celine.

Hi Jayanta, No, it is a new VM set up just to host the ArcGIS Desktop and doesn't have any other product installed on it. I will try the repair and get back to you. Best regards, Celine.
