Hi, I am wondering whether anyone may be able to help me. I am trying to reproject some BMNG imagery from GCS_WGS_1984 to WGS_1984~_Web_Mercator_Auxilary_Sphere. I thought this would be a simple case of using the 'project raster' too within the 'data management' toolbox but this does not seem to be the case - whenever i am to reproject the imagery and create a new image, but when i add this is a new ArcMap document, i get the 'warning, inconsistent extent' message. I know that i could simply ignore this warning, however i also need to mask the imagery and split the rasters which, on, doing so, creates an additional problem in that it seems that an additional pixel is added to the two tiles on the far right (see attached figure) and the warning also reappears when adding these tiles to a new document! Does anyone have any advice? is this a common occurrence with reprojecting imagery? Any advice will be greatly welcomed Christine

Hi, I have had that message come up several times but its literally only a warning so as long as you are happy with how the points are positioned and the georeferencing of your image, i would suggest ignoring the warning. A good way to determine if you image has been accurately georeferenced is through the use of the swipe tool, within the 'effects' toolbar. I hope this helps 🙂 Christine

Hi, Thank you for your reply. In the end i had to use GIMP because clip wouldn??t work as both my origional data and mask are in raster format. I am however now using clip to further analyse the data extracted in GIMP through the use of the mask. (FYI: GIMP was surprisingly easy to use to apply a mask and extract the required data! It wasn??t as quick as Arc but still sufficiently did the job!)

Hi, Does anyone know anyway to extract information from a raster WITHOUT using spatial analyst??? (my company doesn??t have the licence installed.....) I have a mask ready and waiting to be applied to several raster datasets but as of yet, don??t know how I am going to do this without using the ??Extract by Mask?? function (or ??Clip?? function). I was told that GIMP may be of use but I have never used this software before?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Christine
