I've seen a few other posts regarding web adaptor 404 issues, but I have a feeling that our setup may be somewhat unique. I'm running AGS 10.4.1 on our network, have a reverse proxy server setup and it is properly forwarding all other requests as expected (http://gis.cedarfalls.com). This r-proxy was setup initially without a domain name by my IT folks. As of today however, the above domain is now operational. The catch to this is we don't host cedarfalls.com, it's hosted by a vendor, but we had gis.cedarfalls.com routed to our r-proxy server. Now I'm unable to install the web adaptor. It goes through the install, but throws a 404 when going to the config page. I've attempted to replace localhost/arcgis/webadaptor with the server name, server ip's, and the domain name being forwarded to it with no luck. Hoping someone else has a similar setup and has solved this. Cory

Same result, it rebuilds the entire extent. I'm going to log a support ticket with Esri. I did stumble upon a post from a couple of years ago indicating this is likely a bug, but that was a couple of versions ago. Would have thought they would have fixed something this minor by now. Thanks Michael. https://community.esri.com/thread/115414

Hi Guys, I have a python script that uses my cache update polygon layer and it works flawlessly on my desktop pc. The command line script on the server that I posted above also works flawlessly except the cache update polygon parameter doesn't work with either -AOI or -extent. I have updated the path of the connection file when being run on the server to the connected drive G: That stand alone python script is at the bottom. That script gives me the standard 000732 Dataset does not exist or is not supported error. Line 43Failed to execute. Parameters are not valid. ERROR 000732: Input Service: Dataset G:\connect\admin.ags\Labels.MapServer does not exist or is not supported Failed to execute (ManageMapServerCacheTiles). Here is the script above and the response. I of course limited to 2 small scale levels in the interest of time. It even acknowledges the CacheUpdate layer as "Feature Set" while executing. I also tried using double \\ in the path for the polygon layer and get the same result. Thanks for checking this on your end Jonathan. I will put in a support ticket to see what they come up with. As a side note the reason I went this route is because I was unable to get a stand alone python script to run on the server side. I tried many different ways and it always threw an error when attempting to connect to my service. I tried referencing a connection file as well as hard coding the connection. The only way I've been able to run this process is via my desktop as stand-alone or python script, but I would like to avoid using my pc for this type of task. Thanks again for your help. Cory

I am running server 10.4 an attempting to automate some cache updates. In a SQL database I have a polygon feature class I use to isolate areas that need to be updated each day. The issue I'm running in to is the -AOI and the -extent parameters are not being honored and the full extent is being re-cached. I have tested both with no success. Has anyone else ran into this? python.exe "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\tools\admin\managecachetiles.py" -u domain\user -p *** -s http://server.domain:6080 -n Service:MapServer -scales "76800;38400;19200;9600;4800;2400;1200;600;300;150" -mode RECREATE_ALL_TILES -i 3 -AOI "G:\connect\ags@gis.sde\gis.DBO.CacheUpdate -wait DO_NOT_WAIT Thanks for any insight. Thanks Robert, I just added the symbology tag to each layer and that seemed to fix the issue. It made the highlighted layer yellow when it's printed for some reason, but I honestly could care less as long as it works. I had seen this enhancement in the pdf you provide, but of course I never thought of adding it since I was ok with all my selections using the widgets selection color. Glad it was a fairly simple fix. Cory

Using my new site (gis.linncounty.org/maps) it shows the same error regardless of the layer I'm searching. I can use the Identify widget and the info template widget popup without producing an error. I'm not sure what the difference would be between those 2 widgets and eSearch though.

Rhett, I am seeing the same thing. I have an older version of my site still running (still 3.0) and tested both url's and it doesn't behave the same. I don't know exactly which version of the eSearch widget it's running, but the eSearchWidget.swf was generated on 10/10/2012. Sorry I don't know exactly which one it is Robert, (maybe 3.0.9 or 10?). I also checked my previous version that was using the eSearch 3.0.13 I believe and it behaved the same as 3.0.14f. The only thing I've done between the one in October and now is added a scale text to my display after the coordinates. Wouldn't think that would affect anything, but you never know. Here's the site that works. http://gis.linncounty.org/fv2.2 - ignore the 2.2 thing, I just didn't bother changing my proxy server so I left the name. http://gis.linncounty.org/fv2.2/index.html?search=191225300100000&slayer=0&exprnum=1&showdatagrid=false I hope I didn't open up a huge issue, perhaps it's just my site? Thanks for your help fellas. Cory

Hi Robert, I did too after I had let the site sit. Not sure what the deal is, but I refreshed the first link and then it worked, but the 2nd one is perplexing. Thanks for trying this on your end. I'm looking through my error logs to see if anything looks odd. Cory

Good morning, I am getting a funky error when trying to print when the url contains a search string. It returns an error of 'esriJobFailed'. I've poked around firebug and fiddler, but nothing really sticks out. If I attempt to use the print widget from just my root url, everything works http://gis.linncounty.org/maps use 4901 Windmill Dr in the default address search and zoom to the result and print If I attempt to use the print widget from the url that contains the search above it throws the error. http://gis.linncounty.org/maps/index.html?search=191225300100000&slayer=0&exprnum=1&showdatagrid=false Has anybody else seen this? I've been able to reproduce this with the most current versions of IE and Firefox. Thanks for any insight. Cory

Hi Andrew, Did this widget get removed from the arcgis site? It asks for a login but then says I'm not authorized to view the resource. Just curious, I actually already have everything working except the zoom to route feature. Thanks for any insight you might have. Cory Thanks Mike Don't forget to rate it. I will have an update after I get a few more comments. I do have zoom to route working. I will be adding from and to points and tooltips along the route.

Will do Robert. I need to add quite a few "helper" items before I push this out. As for Scott's issue. Maybe attempt to specify just one field for the return results? Good luck.

My apologies guys. I just noticed that I had the same issue going on. I did discover what the problem was. I had a date field being returned, but didn't add the data format tag in the xml. I don't know if this is the same issue you are having Scott since you are returning all fields without specifying them individually. <field name="DATE_" alias="Date Recorded" dateformat="MM/DD/YYYY"/> Again, my apologies for posting in the incorrect post. Thanks guys.

Hi guys, I too have run into this, but only at flex viewer 3. I have 2 identical queries, one at 2.2 and one at 3. The http requests are slightly different, but essentially the same, yet 2.2 returns a result, but 3 doesn't. It only seems to be an issue on the subdivision search. here are the 2 query specs and the sites you can test. for 2.2 = http://gis.linncounty.org/maps for 3 http://gis.linncounty.org/fv3 I also tried running the query against the TOWN field and get the same error, but I can't see anything that is wrong with the layer. Both sites are hitting the same service. fv 2.2 <layer> <name>Subdivisions</name> <url>http://gis.linncounty.org/arcgis/rest/services/LandRecords/MapServer/18</url> <expressions> <expression alias="Name" textsearchlabel="Search by Subdivision Name">SUBDIVISIONNAME LIKE '[value]%'</expression> </expressions> <graphicalsearchlabel>Use one of the graphical search tools to select Subdivisions</graphicalsearchlabel> <spatialsearchlayer>true</spatialsearchlayer> <titlefield>SUBDIVISIONNAME</titlefield> <linkfield></linkfield> <icon isfield="true" iconprefix="" iconsuffix=""></icon> <zoomscale>4800</zoomscale> <fields all="false"> <field name="SUBDIVISIONNAME" alias="Name"/> <field name="TOWN" alias="City or Twp"/> <field name="VOLUME" alias="Volume"/> <field name="PAGE" alias="Page"/> <field name="DATE_" alias="Date Recorded"/> </fields> </layer> fv 3 <layer> <definitionexpression></definitionexpression> <enableexport>false</enableexport> <name>Subdivisions</name> <url>http://gis.linncounty.org/arcgis/rest/services/LandRecords/MapServer/18</url> <expressions> <expression alias="Subdivision Name" textsearchlabel="Search Subdivision Name"> <values><value>SUBDIVISIONNAME LIKE '[value]%'</value></values> </expression> </expressions> <graphicalsearchlabel>Use one of the graphical search tools to select Subdivisions</graphicalsearchlabel> <spatialsearchlayer>true</spatialsearchlayer> <titlefield>SUBDIVISIONNAME</titlefield> <links></links> <fields all="false"> <field name="SUBDIVISIONNAME" alias="Name"/> <field name="TOWN" alias="City or Twp"/> <field name="VOLUME" alias="Volume"/> <field name="PAGE" alias="Page"/> <field name="DATE_" alias="Date Recorded"/> </fields> <zoomscale usegeometry="true" zoompercent="1.2"></zoomscale> </layer>
