Hi Nick, We are experiencing slow uploads on the LTE network but it works fine over wifi. What app did you use to decrease photo size? Thanks, Charmalee

Thanks Robert! I added this line and it worked: identifyParams.timeExtent = map.timeExtent;

I am using the time slider and identify task in a test web app: http://maps.peterborough.ca/culture/events/index3.html I noticed that when I click on features out of the range defined by the time slider, the identify task works even though the features themselves are not visible. Does anyone know how to limit the identify task to only pick features that are within the range defined by the time slider? I am already using the following identify parameters, and these work to limit the identify task to layers checked in the table of contents, but have no effect on the ones out of the time slider range: identifyParams.layerOption = esri.tasks.IdentifyParameters.LAYER_OPTION_VISIBLE; identifyParams.layerIds = layerDynamic.visibleLayers; Any suggestions would be appreciated, Charmalee

I am having the same issue. What I ended up doing was finding that instead of relying on querying a null or blank value, it actually works if you put in some kind of value to query. For instance add a field called URL_Y_N and fill in the field with Y or N depending on whether there is a url. Then you can query the URL_Y_N field in your if statement. I did it a bit different that you in that I created separate infotemplates for each case. I have a working example here of what I did: http://maps.peterborough.ca/culture/economy/ I created separate infotemplates for points with or without photos. Notice the point at 127 Romaine St. has a photo but most others do not.

I also have a editing app with many fields to edit and users have complained about the scroll to the top issue. If we download the editing template and host it on our server, is there a way to modify the code to get rid of the scroll issue?

June, We are hosting the website on our server. The map data is published to our server as a url. This url is referenced in an ArcGIS.com web application. (http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d7602cc3fede4a7ca81bbbc2e72e71b9). The webmap id from ArcGIS.com is referenced in the index.html page of the map tour website. I used the most recent version of the map tour template(version 2.0). I did use the meta tags you mentioned. Good luck, Charmalee

I created a map using the new version of the map tour template, but the map does not load in IE8. Most people in my organization use IE8 so I would really like it to work there. The website for the map is: http://maps.peterborough.ca/culture/publicart/ The website does work when saved to my localhost on my personal computer, but when I moved it to our public server, I get the error: Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0) Timestamp: Tue, 13 Aug 2013 13:32:13 UTC Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 955 Char: 6 Code: 0 URI: http://maps.peterborough.ca/culture/publicart/ Does anyone have any insight on how to fix this error? Is it something I have to modify on the server? Thanks for your help.

I found a sort of messy workaround to this. I enlarged the width of the dropdown arrow button to be just less than the text input box and made the input box white so it can't be seen. That way, on the iPad, there is a large button to press to activate the dropdown and the keyboard doesn't pop up every time I want to adjust an attribute. However the dropdown button obscures the text input field so you can't see what value the attribute really is. This only really works if you are only editing one field and you can see the actual value through symbology. I have been working off this sample and modifed the css: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/widget_attributeinspectorpane.html The css for the dropdown arrow is (width must be adjusted depending on your text box size): .claro .dijitComboBox .dijitArrowButtonInner { border: 1px solid #464A46; width: 161px; opacity:0.1; background-color: #464A46; } The css for the textbox is: .esriAttributeInspector .dijitTextBox { width:7em;font-size:18pt;z-index:-100;border: 1px solid #FFFFFF; background-color: #FFFFFF;} Since I am only editing one field I removed the field name: .esriAttributeInspector .atiLabel {display:none;} I also changed the text size in the dropdown to make it easier to select on the iPad: .claro .dijitComboBoxMenu .dijitMenuItem { font-size:18pt; } There is probably a better way to do this, i.e. changing the dropdown from dojo.form.FilteringSelect to dojo.form.Select. However, I haven't found a way to get that to work.

This sample just uses the attribute inspector and places it in a div: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/widget_attributeinspectorpane.html

I have been working on a simple editing application and I would like to customize the dropdown that appears in the editor infowindow/attribute inspector. I already have domains so I would like to make it impossible to type anything into the textbox. The code of interest that creates the dropdown is (from Firebug): <input type="text" aria-haspopup="true" role="textbox" data-dojo-attach-point="textbox,focusNode" autocomplete="off"
class="dijitReset dijitInputInner" aria-required="true" tabindex="0" id="dijit_form_FilteringSelect_0" value="" aria-disabled="false"
aria-invalid="true" aria-owns="dijit_form_FilteringSelect_0_popup"> Can I manipulate this code to make a dropdown in which no text can be typed in? This would be really helpful on an iPad because as soon as you select the dropdown, the keyboard pops up and obscures the screen. Thanks for any input.

I also am having trouble adding buttons to the editor widget infowindow. The best I could do was add a button by following this sample: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/ed_attribute_inspector.html However this sample uses the attribute inspector without the editor widget. If you figure out how to add the button while using the editor widget, please post your code. Thanks!

I was able to edit attributes with a click by adding this code under the onClick event, but it only works for one layer: operationalLineLayer.selectFeatures(selectQuery, esri.layers.FeatureLayer.SELECTION_NEW, function(features) { if (features[0].attributes["STATUS2013"] == 'Not Complete') { //store the current feature updateFeature = features[0]; updateFeature.attributes["STATUS2013"] = 'Complete'; updateFeature.getLayer().applyEdits(null, [updateFeature], null); } else (features[0].attributes["STATUS2013"] == 'Complete') { //store the current feature updateFeature = features[0]; updateFeature.attributes["STATUS2013"] = 'Not Complete'; updateFeature.getLayer().applyEdits(null, [updateFeature], null); } else { map.infoWindow.hide(); } }); This code only works for my line layer. I am unsure how to run the same selection code for my point and area layers. When I try to copy the code with the other layer names into the onClick event, it only works on the first layer. Not sure how to make all three layers on the map selectable. To see the test website in action, with only the selection working for the line layer, here is the link: http://maps.peterborough.ca/trafficlines/editwin4.html Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Charmalee

Thanks for looking into it Robert. I am not very familiar with using the source code, so having the option to remove things from the UI through the esearch tool xml would be a great option.
