Well, if I create a Conda environment with Anaconda or Miniconda, and open the shortcut from start, I get: (base) PS C:\Users\zachary.stauber> Ready for business. But if I install the Powershell Shortcut module from ArcGIS Pro for an environment created from within Pro I get & : The term 'C:\Users\ZACHAR~1.STA\AppData\Local\Temp\ArcGISProTemp17332\_MEI194722\shell\condabin\conda-hook.ps1' is

Instead when Pro starts up a Conda command prompt, it runs something like proenv.bat or propy.bat, and they're quite complex so I don't know how to turn them into Powershell scripts that do the same thing.

Vanilla Anaconda supports starting a Python environment in a Powershell window by running a script called conda-hook.ps1. Since ArcGIS Pro conda runs different scripts to set up its environment for ArcGIS, the Powershell Shortcut module does not install properly (nor does Miniconda Powershell Shortcut), so it looks like Esri would have to create their own version of Powershell Shortcut in the "esri" channel. Powershell is becoming much more popular than the old Command Prompt window, and I started writing scripts to automate GIS tasks using Python with 10.x, but I can't use it with Pro 3.x yet until there is a script that does what proenv.bat and conda-hook.ps1 does in a Powershell.

Given the increasing use of Microsoft Office 365 in remote work and SharePoint for sharing data, it would be very nice if ArcGIS Server got the ability to register a SharePoint site as a data source, at least as read-only. This would enable us to have a single copy of our geodata in "the cloud" that could be used by both ArcGIS Server and desktop users could create links to in OneDrive. I recently attended a training by the EPA geospatial users group in which they announced they are moving to OneDrive to store their geodata, and many New Mexico state agencies have moved to Office 365 since the start of pandemic driven remote work as well.

I have this same problem, and I'm not satisfied with the answer to just ignore it, because it's not only that, it's causing real problems. I have a "per user" install (which basically means it's installed on this machine's C:\Users\user.name\AppData folder instead of C:\Program Files), and concurrent licensing, and now when I go into licensing to check out a license so I can disconnect from VPN, the option is grayed out. The info tip says that This functionality is not available without the ArcGIS Licensing Service being installed. The service can be installed by running the licensing service installer located within the ArcGIS Pro installation folder. Well, I don't have any idea what that means. I've looked under the executable folder in my AppData folder, in the folder from which the program installs in the first place, and even on the unpacked DVD ISO, and I don't see any setup.exe for just a licensing service.

I have this same problem. Trying to port some stuff from 3.x to 4.x where I reference a div with an id and then fill it later with an asynchronous xhr query. In 4.13 I can set the id and class in a popupTemplate.content with no problem. In 4.15 I can set the class, but the id is stripped. Doing this with the workaround seems will require a ton of refactoring.

We're now going all-hands-on-deck to get everything we have into an API management platform, and the idea of creating an OpenAPI/Swagger file for every one of our services is a nonstarter. Esri, please do this.

I wonder if it is possible for a published Python tool in ArcGIS Server 10.6.1 (not Portal/Enterprise, just a stand-alone Server) to make use of a registered database connection. So, what I mean is, I have an instance of ArcGIS Server 10.6.1, and it has several registered database connections to an SDE on another machine. I would like to publish a Python geoprocessing tool to that ArcGIS Server that can use these "pooled" SDE connections to read or write data, so I do not have to upload a separate SDE connection file for every GP tool every time I re-publish it or change the password. This would be similar to how Java web apps use a single Tomcat database connection, which is more efficient and easier to maintain. But I can't figure out of this is possible or what the syntax would be. Here is a simple example of what I'd like to do in Python. All this script does is open up and list the datasets in an SDE schema: import sys
import os
import arcpy
scriptPath = sys.path[0]
arcpy.env.workspace = os.path.join(scriptPath, "read_only_connection.sde")
ds = arcpy.ListDatasets()
if len(ds) > 0:
dataset_file = open(os.path.join(scriptPath, "datasets.txt"), "w")
for d in ds:
dataset_file.write(d + "\n")
dataset_file.close() If I copy up read_only_connection.sde to the script's directory after I publish, it will work. But read_only_connection.sde is already imported as a registered database on the server called read_only_connection (no .sde extension). How do I reference it from within Python? Is it even possible?

Maybe. I had to reboot of course, but it also seemed that I had to stop and restart the publishing service even though I had removed the patch and rebooted the entire machine, which restarts everything. I had to specifically restart the publishing service again after it all came back up before it would publish again, on my production server.

Yes, that was it for me. On my test server, which is Windows Server 2008r2, I uninstalled patch kb4056894 and was able to start the publishing service again and publish a test service. Thanks for your help, folks. I'll rollback from production server and wait for a fix from Esri on ArcGIS Server 10.4.1.

I have just started getting this, too, on both my test and production servers. And I have been applying all Microsoft patches immediately due to the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. I'm starting to think they're connected as well. The "System/PublishingTools.GPServer" won't start, and nothing new will publish.
