I'd like to use the calcite-tab component to switch between two (or more) map views. However I'm having trouble getting a map view div to display in the content area underneath the tab (code). All of the examples in the documentation and this Esri Community space just show text (e.g. "Tab 1 content") in the content area. Is it possible to place a div here that contains a map view rather than just text? Is there something i'm missing in either the css or the html for configuring the div, or a different component I should be using to achieve this functionality? Thank you!

Anonymously submitted surveys are an important use case of Survey123 in our organization. For example, university researchers may need to protect the identity of those submitting responses, but want to limit it to a specific group, or we may send out surveys to collect anonymous feedback, and want to ensure users feel safe providing honest answers (echoed here). While publicly-shared surveys allow anonymous users to submit responses, if a user is signed into an ArcGIS Online organization via Survey123 in their browser window, it will record their username in the editor tracking fields of the hosted feature layer by default. As the editor tracking fields are not exposed by default in the Data tab of Survey123, survey owners may not even realize this is happening. To avoid recording usernames in the underlying hosted feature service, surveys published via the web designer require the following steps, which to my knowledge are only documented in answers to Esri Community posts: Change the settings of the hosted feature layer by deselecting “keep track of who created and last updated features” Manually delete the “Editor” and “Creator” fields from the hosted feature layer Unfortunately, deleting these fields breaks the ability to update the “Share results” tab, as the service definition cannot be updated (error: “invalid definition for 'EditorTrackingInfo”). Additionally, anytime the survey is republished, this configuration would be erased. The idea: have an option when creating a survey in the web designer to make all submissions anonymous (no editor tracking), regardless of the sharing setting (public, organization, group). While this might limit what submitters could do (obviously anything that requires tracking), it would ensure survey owners clearly know when usernames are being recorded or not. Additionally, as it is recommended to control sharing and privileges through the collaborate tab, it would make sense to incorporate this option directly into the web designer, rather than having users make changes to the underlying feature service, which can cause unexpected issues down the line (such as the issue cited above with "Share results"). I’ll add that this would be particularly helpful for our organization members (of which there are 7000+) that are not power users of Survey123 or ArcGIS Online (and may not be familiar with the inner workings of editor tracking), but are utilizing this great tool for their research or teaching.

Yes! When viewing app on mobile devices, the legend obscures the map initially upon opening. We often embed apps in wordpress sites, which further limits the screen real estate, compounding the issue. Many of the other widgets have settings for being open or closed by default (e.g. setting for "search open at start"). Please add the ability to have the legend closed at start in the Interactive Legend instant app!

Wonderful, thank you @rpavuluri for this fix! This works great using 4.21. Will continue to monitor in future releases. As an example, here it is implemented in the FeatureTable widget with a map example:

I recently stumbled on this StoryMap by @RossDonihue which demonstrates use of superscripts for citations with a link to an external website. If it was instead linked to the internal credits section, this would illustrate this idea. With the addition of internal story links in the June 30th, 2021 update to StoryMaps, one work around is that a user could publish their StoryMap, grab the hyperlink for the credits section heading, return to edit mode, and add it to their in-text citations.

I’d like to set the default width of columns and height of the rows in the FeatureTable widget to accommodate more of the text in an attribute field. All of the sample code examples have the overflow text hidden, and no wrapping enabled: I am using the FeatureTable widget without a map, so one cannot click on a feature to view a popup that contains the full attribute text. My questions are: is it possible to either (a) set the default width and height of all rows, or (b) have them dynamically change height to fit the text in a given column? I’ve poked around a bit in the CSS, and it seems that this is not controlled by the esri-grid, esri-widget, esri-grid__content, or esri-grid__grid classes. Thanks for your help!

@RobertBorchert Yes, you can create regular groups with the publisher role, but not shared update groups. One way in which shared update groups function differently than regular groups is that members of the group may edit the same map or app, without having to save their own copy. 'Create group with update capabilities' is the privilege that allows a user to create shared update groups, and this is what i'm asking to be made a non-admin privilege.

Hi @RobertBorchert, There is a difference between a role and a privilege -- our users do not have the default administrative role assigned to them (giving them full administrative control from the entire suite of administrative privileges), simply this one privilege, which allows users to create their own Shared Update groups. Our users do not have any control over anyone else's content or the organization as a whole.

Currently, creating groups with update capabilities is an administrative privilege that can be assigned to a custom role. We’ve enabled our entire university community (6000+ users) to have this privilege in order to facilitate collaborative editing of StoryMaps, Web Apps, Web Maps, etc., which is a common need in class assignments and research projects (see collaboration models for ArcGIS Online). Assigning this privilege to a custom role which we automatically grant to new users relieves us of the administrative burden of creating groups for everyone that would like to collaborate on content. There is, however, an unfortunate side effect of this being an administrative privilege. When connecting to the GIS in ArcGIS Notebooks, every user now gets a warning stating they are signed in with an administrator role, and to proceed with caution: This is misleading and causes confusion, as our users do not have the administrator role assigned to them. Given that users without this ‘create group with update capabilities’ can be members of shared update groups, and edit content therein, I’m not sure what distinguishes this as an administrative privilege. I’m proposing that ‘create a group with update capabilities’ be made a non-administrative privilege in order to more easily facilitate collaboration amongst users.

A frequent request from our university community members that use StoryMaps is the ability to provide in-text citations hyperlinked to the credits section. This would be particularly useful for academic writing, class assignments, and research communication where in-text citations are common. While the new navigation bar button for the credits section is a great improvement, it would be ideal if in-text citations could be linked directly to the credits section.

Thanks for adding the slideshow block - it is great to have an element in StoryMaps that you can step through horizontally, rather than vertically. I would like to see the ability to add images to the floating text box, which is particularly useful for showing a map legend, as there is no way to set the legend to open by default.

How was your experience of creating a collection and adding stories to it? Easy and simple to add published stories. It was a little unintuitive to find 'My Collections' under my profile photo. It might be nice to have this surfaced somewhere else on the site. Is there anything you were expecting to do, and couldn’t? Write more of a description under the collection title. I see that the 'Seven Wonders' example Collection has a paragraph introducing the StoryMaps, yet I am limited to 140 characters. I see Collections being a great solution for compiling individual students' StoryMaps into a class portfolio, and having the opportunity to provide more context about the collection would be great. Echoing Anneka France above, ability to add custom logos and renaming the numbers to be descriptive text would be nice.

Is there a way to use URL parameters to display a custom extent of a Swipe story map? For example, I'd like to use the story actions in the Map Journal side panel to navigate to different locations in an embedded Swipe story map, which is the main stage content. Ideally, I'd also like the pop-up for the point at each location to appear. While this is simple to do with a web map via the story action settings, I cannot find a way to do the same for an embedded story map. Setting URL parameters seems like the only option to customize the display. Thanks!
