We often need to edit the map used in a dashboard to update symbology, configure popups etc., however, when you are editing the dashboard you cannot see the source URL for the map so you don't necessarily know what map to edit to make the required changes. You end up having to search your content and guess which map is being used to update it. Please add the URL, or even just the name of the map to the settings for the map in the dashboard. The General tab might be the best place to put it. There is a 'Name' field in the General tab, but it is the name of the element, not the name of the map itself.

I have a date field in my dataset that stores the date and time a trash can was last emptied. I would like two indicators on my dashboard. One indicator would show the total number of cans emptied before 2 pm the previous day and a second indicator showing the total number of cans emptied after 2 pm the previous day. I am easily able to get the total number of cans emptied the previous day. However, I cannot seem to be able to figure out a way of getting the specific time of day yesterday.... Is there any way of extracting the time from the date in the filter? I have tried adding a second query for the time, but you cannot seem to do it without also specifying a specific date: I could add a field to the data to store whether the can was collected before or after 2 pm and run a script overnight to update it, but I would prefer to find a way of doing the work in the filter without having to hard code anything in the data. Thank you!

I recognize that this is an old post, but since there have been a few additional people with the same question I can tell you what worked for me when I have had this error.... Try opening ArcGIS Server Manager on your server, then go to the Services tab and choose 'Manage Services'. On the left hand side it should list all the folders for your site. If you open the 'System' folder you should see a geoprocessing service called 'Publishing Tools'. Try stopping and re-starting this service and then try publishing your map service again. You should be able to publish the service.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to sort the results of a category search in alphabetical, date, or reverse alphabetical order without writing extra code. We have orthophotography and would like to sort by the file name in reverse so that the most recent imagery is at the top. For all the other Data Categories we would prefer the results to be shown in alphabetical order by default. If the data sort method can't be set for each individual data category, then if we could set the default sorting order for our entire open data that would be helpful. Right now the results seem very random.

I am using the Wizard to set up my open data site. I have been asked to add some new widgets to the site. When I do so my bottom row of widgets suddenly appear at the top of the webpage on top of my text. When I remove the new widgets everything works fine again, but as soon as I try adding them back in I get the same results - the bottom row of widgets pops up at the top of the webpage. Has any one else experienced this issue? I would prefer to keep the site in 'Wizard' format rather than using code as I am not an HTML expert. I am wondering if there is a maximum page length for an open data site? Thanks!
